Tell Karl I said Hi. I am the old Jarhead that met him at the NRA convention in Houston this year (2022). Just a suggestion: Now that I am no longer a young warrior, I maintain my skill set for CC by shooting the Air Marshals Qualification on a weekly basis by shooting the entire qual or certain stages. Mastering that accuracy and par time are essential IMHO. Those 7 stages I have found are the most reality based situations a good guy with a gun will face in a self defense situation. Like your videos my brother.
Excellent video as usual. What I start all new shooters on are Texas CHL proficiency test (20 rounds at 5 yards, 20 rounds at 10 yards, 10 rounds at 15 yards which includes quick firing with flash picture, double taps, and slow controlled shooting) and once they pass that consistently I move them up to the FBI qualification test. Once they can pass 2 formally recognized standards that cover the bare minimum, that's when I focus on things like Wyatt protocol, shooting drills like this, etc.
Thanks Zee and the crew! Very important that you got across to train these drills in every day clothing, too many guys I know want to practice EDC stuff in full kit.
This was a good reminder that I should not neglect the obvious for the fun. I carry my Glock every single day - I do not carry an AR every day. I can get caught up running rifle drills every time I hit my range, but truthfully, the chances of me using my Glock to engage a threat from conceal carry are greater than engaging a threat with an AR. Reality Check! Also, if you look at how many rounds an LEO expends during a gun fight, I think there's a good chance we will have to reload. Pistol reload from a pocket using gross motor skills? Oh hell yes, I need to work on this. ASAP. Thank you TR and thank you Zee for showing us a few good drills
Robert, Thanks for commenting and sharing your views & concerns with our other viewers. It's always good to hear people agreeing about the importance of training. Strength & Honor, TR
That third drill! Amazing speed on the trigger with so very little movement in the barrel that it’s very cool to watch over and over! Something for me to emulate. Thanks!
Badass drill Zee. Gonna have the wife work on this one. Shes getting too focused on staying static while on target and not looking for cover. But at least her groupings are awesome. Its almost like a honeymoon every time we go to the range.
This is a great video because it shows practical skills for the average guy (low speed medium drag.) What I would like to see is an overview of the different carry options as well as the strengths and weaknesses that come from each option. But yay #teamZee Video!
I gotta add the NOW drill to my book of drills. Mag dumps are hard to perfect. You have to draw to a perfect grip, you must have perfect timing with your recoil, and your trigger cadence has to be dead on. Anybody can just spray fast rounds down range, but I'm talking about having consistent split times, and a tight shot group. I run a lot of drills, but this is something that I need to practice more. Thx, brother. Not gonna lie... The main reason that I don't, is because it's a "costly" drill to practice. lol
I'm no gunfighter but using my ccw set up for uspsa, idpa and 3 gun has been a great help in improving all aspects of my shooting. Making sure your gear works, footwork, transitions, reloads etc all with the stress of the timer.
There are plenty of complex and awesome drills out there. My approach for the average joe is to help them be highly effective at implementing foundational tasks. Drawing and shooting acceptably accurate in a timely manner is a good baseline.👊👊👊 (why do I always shoot 2 when I say I’m going to shoot one??🤷🏻♂️ more is better I guess)
1. Draw from holster after threat 2. One round, drop empty mag behind concealment and reload then fire 1 shot 3. Mag dump and reload fire 1 shot. Check for point shooting accuracy and trigger control- don’t slap.
My best advice to a CCW holder is get out to a USPSA/IPSC/IDPA match and shoot. You don’t have to be a serious competitor or care about winning a match. You will learn your shortcomings and get better while experiencing odd shooting positions and shooting under stress you wouldn’t get on a static range. It’s really the best practice a civilian can get without spending $1000’s on training classes.
There’s no rush to holster IWB after a firefight. If I have to I deliberately remove the holster from the waistband before returning the weapon back into the holster. Too much stress , adrenaline, tachy psych, etc to deal with on top of trying re holster into an IWB holster. Especially in the dark, with multiple layers,of clothing, maybe even taken some hits from the opponent. Last thing I need is a shot to the groin.
True but recently there was a guy who shot and killed a cop, good guy with gun shoots and kills criminal, officers show up and shoot and kill good guy.
"Retired civilian scumbag" ??? Sir, the group you belong to now is called "Militia" the oldest defensive force of this nation! Men of the Militia fought April 19, 1775 in the Battle of Lexington and Concord and there after...at that time the US Military or its predecessor not even existed! We have no uniforms, no insignia, no marching music...humble people wishing for peace and freedom and ready to defend it. I think you fit right in...
Well, I caught shit for this but I always do a couple dry fire drills from concealment. Clothing affects the range of motion or just the ability to get your weapon drawn cleanly and safely. My buddy thought it was stupid, I'm just trying to stay above ground. Thanks for the info and your sacrifice.
A true warrior and master of his craft. When this warrior talks you shut up and listen. Absorb all the information this man gives you and apply it. I myself am a wolf with a muzzle on, but don’t be mistaken, remove the muzzle and you shall see. I stoped fighting my demons and I have befriended them
Great info! Also is it true that you have been selected to demonstrate the receiving end of a certain teazers? Lol. Appreciate your commitment and SACRIFICE to the cause of training brother!! Lolol
Thanks for the response! I love hearing what you guys have to say. I just thought it was odd you hit the slide release one time and racked the slide another as well, but that all makes sense. I try to learn and take away as much as i can from yalls videos so I can incorporate it into my training and drills. Thanks for your courage and service
What kind of holster is that. I wish I could do appendix carry but my holster isn’t good for front. It sits too high and it prints. I don’t have a fat belly I swear.
Not in love with that pocket-carry magazine. It looked like you hung up, plus (worst case) you might could end up with a round half out of the mag. Not sure how you should carry it, I’m just doing the armchair thing.
you carry your spare mag with the base slightly sticking outside your pocket for easy access? lol yeah right. and why didn't you draw from concealment for your mag dump?
Donny Lansing I carry with a base clip on my mag that makes it stick out by hooking on my pocket. Didn’t have it at the range that day. Not sure why I didn’t draw from concealed for the mag dump. I should have👍
Instructor Zee what is that hand position / technique called when you are in I’m guessing close ready position called with your support hand outward called ? I can’t find any videos or pages mentioning that technique but it looks like it’d be great to keep muzzle disciple and it looks tactical as shit lol

Civilian scumbag here, thanks for sharing your hard earned tips and training methods!
Great video, glad that you looked that gun into the holster. I am tired of the internet experts telling people not to look the gun into the holster.
Agreed
Thank you for making a practical video without a solid minute of selfies for an intro.
Great! On the single shot from draw, I incorporate a get off the X.
That third drill! Amazing speed on the trigger with so very little movement in the barrel that it’s very cool to watch over and over! Something for me to emulate. Thanks!
IMPRESSIVE shooting and great tips! That recoil control is in Cheat mode!
Agreed on recoil control! I was very impressed.
Badass drill Zee. Gonna have the wife work on this one. Shes getting too focused on staying static while on target and not looking for cover. But at least her groupings are awesome. Its almost like a honeymoon every time we go to the range.
And she cooks better than mom, but don't tell mom that.
Thats really awesome bro

Tactical rifleman you were awesome. Thanks again.

True but recently there was a guy who shot and killed a cop, good guy with gun shoots and kills criminal, officers show up and shoot and kill good guy.
But yeah I feel like removing the clearing the firearm after a firefight before reholstering would be best option
Great drills to practice for sure! My favorite is draw, shoot and get moving either to cover or shooting.
Straight to the point explained what to do. Love it!
"Retired civilian scumbag" ???
Sir, the group you belong to now is called "Militia" the oldest defensive force of this nation!

Nice Brother, great command presence and straight to the point. I have been thinking about teaching this, firearm safety and proper weapons handling.
Great video. I am a new gun owner myself. Do you have a video about which holsters I should look at?
I like those drills I'm going to start putting that in my routine!!!
Great video guys . Very useful

Very good drill. Thanks for your service sir.
Great video brother , amazing control !!!
As always awesome video👍👍👍👍....Carry on the good work.God Bless you all🙏.
Is the barrel not really hot? I was half expecting to see smoke emitting from your fly.
Bro at least you notice that too dang balls of Steele no homo
barrel? yeah, bu the slide isn't that bad.
Why wasn't your slide locking back on empty on the last drill?? Just curious. I'm training with a G19, G26, and Hellcat
good video had to watch it twice.
Can you give us tips to keep the muzzle down?
I didn’t see any muzzle rise while you were shooting. How do you do that? Do I need to get more strength in my hands?
Yep, it comes from proper grip. Mind you, not all of it is from just squeezing the grip hard. It is more important to lock your wrists
u guys rock…good stuff my dude
Great seeing on this Channel Zee ! Keeping coming 👍🏻
Thanks for the drills Zee.
Damn good lesson I absolutely got something out of this video... Thank You
BIG RON OUT... 🇺🇸
Great video. Instructor Z.." I am a civilian scumbag". That is jacked up. Don't say "Retired" say "Transitioned" to the civilian community.
Can you demonstrate a non-dominant hand draw from appendix carry please. as if you were using your strong hand to fight like most people do
great training, i understand the first and second, but why the third?
Very cool video. Ill be sure to do this at the range.
Always good stuff from TR!
Any thoughts on recommendations for conceal carry while in dress clothes, ie. golf type shirt tucked in.
Great info! Also is it true that you have been selected to demonstrate the receiving end of a certain teazers?
Lol. Appreciate your commitment and SACRIFICE to the cause of training brother!! Lolol
Great vid!
I like to stick my spare mags under my belt otherwise I found myself fumbling if I put them in my pocket. Thanks for the great videos.
Out of new guy curiosity, what is the purpose of splaying the fingers of your left hand post-shots, as you’re pulling the gun back to you?
Habit from being ready for combatives
2.45 rounds-9mm Lugar = Number of Rounds To Incapacitate:
24%-9mm Luger =Percent of Hits Fatal:
74%-9mm Luger =Accuracy(Head/Torso hits)
Cool video, very awesome 👏
Great drill!!!! Thanks, we scum bag retired folks need all the help we can get!! Haha
What ear protection are those? They look nice
Thanks for useful information, brother.
Sup z i watch carry Micks channel all the time!!
Zee is the man
2:33 - 2:40 That sound, That contact report...
Can be felt in the frame of the weapon... can it not? 6818
Awesome stuff, no bullshit 👍
Great advice my friend.
Damn it! this makes me want to make a concealed cover stAnd
I wasn’t watching when the video started and thought it was Mitch Hedberg...
Outstanding!
Thank you, sir...very helpful.
Thanks for watching, TR
Outstanding skill level.
Wow...you put your gun there.....😲
How come your slide did not lock after dumping the whole mag on the last drill?
Great info.
Hell yeah🤘 rock it zee 🔥🔥🔥🔥
What appendix holster did you use in this video?
good drills Zee
Awesome tips.
i love appendix carry & its the most comfortable for me but i'm afraid of accidents
Practice a lot of Dryfire draws and reholster reluctantly
Cool outside? When the heck was this filmed? There aren't any leaves on the trees... Good drills though.
That's my thought lol
Why did his slide not lock back after his mag dump?
Apoplectic Angel happens to me often. My support hand locks on high and prevents the slide releases from engaging.
I wish all retirements were this much fun.
What kind of holster is that. I wish I could do appendix carry but my holster isn’t good for front. It sits too high and it prints. I don’t have a fat belly I swear.
Thank you
Great stuff.
why didn’t the slide lock back?
Paul Bury hand rode up
Great tips…
Not in love with that pocket-carry magazine. It looked like you hung up, plus (worst case) you might could end up with a round half out of the mag.
Not sure how you should carry it, I’m just doing the armchair thing.
What knee pads are you ising and do you like them?
great video, thx.
Thank you
What are good guns that I can fit in my pocket?
Impressive!
Nice groups high speed! Fuckin James Bond shit right there!
Kool guy shit..! Subscribed 👍🏽

Anyone else hearing a high-speed, tactical Mitch Hedberg?
Alex Sansone I’m honored😁😁👊
I wonder if he has ever tried to make Sprite
Awesome
What type of holster is that called
IWB Appendix Carry
Sir, if you dont mind me asking, whyd you title yourself "civialian scumbag?"....over just a civilian.. clearly im missing something
Perhaps you've explained in other vids?
Grt vid.
I'd like to run on the range with big Z!!!
Absence of muzzle flip. Wow
Subbed
you carry your spare mag with the base slightly sticking outside your pocket for easy access? lol yeah right. and why didn't you draw from concealment for your mag dump?
Donny Lansing I carry with a base clip on my mag that makes it stick out by hooking on my pocket. Didn’t have it at the range that day.
Not sure why I didn’t draw from concealed for the mag dump. I should have👍

I wanna see zee and instructor zero in a video doing cool guy shit
Instructor Zero does not exist to us. Thanks for watching, TR
Damn that was sort
