Well I haven't seen an explanation of this horrifying monstrosity, so I'll go ahead and try to explain it (use the description). In the first part, the man talks about screaming for so long and so loud that his throat is raw, and phlegm is spewed out (Maybe some sort of epiphany the man comes to driving him to insanity?). Next something that can either be interpreted as god, some divine being, or the mentally ill man's guidance manifest presents itself and rips out some sort of "parasite" from bare "skin" (Could be interpreted as the mentally ill man's actual skin, or maybe the "skin" of society). The various references to fire, skin, peeling, and coal could be referencing either the fires of creation (god), the power of this being (divine being) or the pain from tearing his skin (mentally ill man) This being then disappears, and he talks about a "crowd" being awed by his "full fire starved to coals" (If we decide this was some sort of higher being/god, this could be awe at his power. If we decide this was the man, it'd be awe at his relevation, and maybe fear. I personally view this first section as a mentally ill man in the present realizing some past event (if it is "god"), or if we decide this is the mentally ill man's guidance manifest then he would be "freeing" himself by ripping the "parasite" from his skin.)
After the being disappears, everything returns to normal, but whatever "coals" he left behind have spawned "next-year's pests" that will feed it's flame (The government? I personally think it's the former. Then he goes on to talk about what I interpret to be himself for the rest of the lines. "One's mind cannot hold so much" and "A man beated ragged raw tanned the sun by many generations" is (I think) him acknowledging the fact that he's crazy, but believing that he went crazy because he KNOWS TOO MUCH. He says "baring the black winds standing above the world; the highest peak of Zion he sees the Red heifer in the sky", showing that he thinks he has uncovered some sort of divine being's, or demon's influence on the world, "One more day torwards Christ's kingdom on earth."
Now he talks about the "demons" he was referencing earlier that were "spawned" by the coals of the black-fingered man lying in wait across many different countries (He also briefly mentions they're protected by some sort of ancient magic. Notice his use of the biblical flood as a unit of measurement of time. He also alludes to the "demons" being protected from even before christ, so who, or what, was protecting them?) He then explains that these beings are behind "total war", and states "their waking dream branding the new insane, their minds signs of BANDENKRIEG (Gang War)" In essence, he blames these demons for creating war, conflict, etc. and branding whatever disagrees with them "the new insane". This could be referencing the government trying to "brand him insane (in his eyes anyways, since he's always paranoid from being schizo), or actual demons that control world leaders like puppets to carry out their will. He then states "christ's armies legions of pure savages". He could be saying this ironically (as in armies like those from the crusade, which are "christ's armies" being savages), or he could be trying to allude to these "savages" being created and guided by christ. He then describes these men as kinds of machines for war for the next 4 sentences. He then says these beings have put chains around humanity's neck from "the age man first took this earth", and have created machines (men and actual machines) for war to devastate the globe.
The ramblings of this mentally ill man are very confusing and difficult to understand for a few reasons. Not only does he use arbitrary but scholarly vocabulary, but the "black-fingered man" he refers to CHANGES IDENTITIES half way through the monolouge. At the very beginning, the "black-fingered man" is his revelation of this knowledge manifest, an arbitrary concept given life through the pen, but from the very end of the first paragraph to the end of the monolouge, the "black-fingered man" becomes an actual entity that spawns these creatures that have plagued humanity and it's governments since the dawn of man, and have been causing conflict from Day 1. This is a really good monolouge overall, and I feel it captures the fantasies and "epiphanies" of a schizophrenic man as portrayed by the media.
