    Great review and attention to details! These bibles are harder us to examine in online stores, this is as close to touching them before we buy as we can get, Thanks for your unbiased insight and critical analysis!

    I got the Open Bible in brown genuine leather right after they first came out. The print was small, I was disappointed in the Topical Index and the cockling was horrible. I'm hoping they fix it and make a large print version.

      Me too. I'd love to see this is a larger print. I also want the cockling fixed.

      @@mikemanners1069 If I had to guess I'd say it's when something in the way the text block is bound means that when open the pages in the centre (gutter) part are not flat and end up having parts that pop up and nearly crinkle and pop (both visuably and audiably when you turn a page or a bunch of pages together). I've no idea if this is what it is though but that is my guess.

    I have the personal size NKJV full color study bible by Thomas Nelson Publisher's 2nd edition. At the beginning I could not use it because the print was too small but praise God for my new progressive glasses, I can finally use this great bible! Now, I can read even the study notes even though they are smaller than the bible text.

    This was such a helpful video. I ended up ordering the open bible, and then I got the Olive Tree NKJV Study Bible on their app during the Easter sale. It’s starting to get hard to see the little study notes so the app lets me see them clearly. Plus, I’m getting tired of lugging these big bible study bibles around. I don’t really understand why the open bible includes a concordance at the back when they have that huge encyclopediex in the front. Also their accent red color is unfortunately uuuuuugly to me lol. Nonetheless, both have been blessings. Thanks for the video comparison!

      Thanks! I find that I'm using more study Bibles on apps for the same reason.

      Go with Open Bible. It is by far the best in my opinion. And don't go with KJV. I would suggest NKJV.

    The strength of the Open Bible NKJV are the book intros, the visual charts and the outlines and the index! The newer OB doesn't have the book charts and that is unfortunate. They should have left out another feature and made room for the book charts! The NKJV study Bible has great intros and a lot of time lines and word studies! great stuff. The negative is the fact there is so much text on the page it is overwhelming. But it is a great Bible Earl Radmacher the editor is a legendary teacher! Ken Boa and another guy do the visuals of the OB. Ken Boa is great!

    I got the NKJV OPEN BIBLE and I love it. I'm switching from the KJV to the NKJV. I'm wondering what the notes r like in the NKJV Study Bible, r they conservative or not? Thanks

      Yes! Very conservative. The late Earl Radmacher (Western seminary) was the editor and he had a very high view of scripture. He was a 0 point Calvinist (his words!) You can get very inexpensive copies on eBay or if you have an Ollie's try it there. Should be

    Ordering my KJV open bible come august! My old one is held together with duct tape lol. Dont know why they waited so many years to publish it again. Seems like the text will be smaller due to center column on the new version. But this is what they are printing so ill buy it anyway lol. from the videos ive seen it seems like the new one will have less ghosting than the old one

    Can someone help me out, please?
    What's the difference and similarities between an open Bible and study bible, which one is more useful/informative?
    Also, do you happen to know Charles Spurgeon KJV Study Bible? (It seems like a Preacher's Bible to me).

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  4 года назад +4

      The main difference is study Bibles have commentary on the text. The Open Bible is more topical focused. Both are great for study and I like using them together.
      I have reviewed the Spurgeon in CSB, but not KJV. I like it a lot.
