    Randy, I bought this Bible because of your review. I just love it--especially the center column where the archaic words of the KJV are given current words (drawn from the NKJV). Keep up the good work. Your's is a much needed ministry.

    Thomas Nelson needs to re-print KJV New Strong’s Reference Bible. it has a Concise 749 page Concordance. The best Bible I have ever owned. Wonderful features. Someone that has one show do a review of it to show all the features. The best ever made.

    I find that when the references are at the bottom I totally forget they are there and don't use them. But if they are in the center I tend to read the verse and more inclined to check out the reference verse.

    If anyone is on the fence about this, get off the fence and grab this Bible. I had somethings I wanted vs. things I could live without written down after watching about 20 RUclips videos. I knew I needed a large font/print type that and I can see without my progressive glasses. I knew I wanted goatskin as to never have to buy another hardback or imitation leather again.
    I really did stalk Randy 😇 looking at his reviews. I found another RUclipsr and stalked him as well. Wanted to go back home to KJV (raised on), and my older brother got my mother’s Bible when she passed, the disadvantage of being the third child of four.
    This Bible has so much. I will say, it is a little heavy, but I’m not taking it to church, I have a B6 (5x7) that I take to church, and the print is 10 pt, a little hard, but I can always write in a notebook the scripture and read it at home. I do wish this had a family history inside, but I could have gotten the Heritage edition. Mine has a smoother cover, which is all good with me. The three ribbons (2 Old Testament/1 New Testament) are long, but that can be cut down. The Bible in a year is going to take me 2 years as sometimes my eyes are so scratchy and get tired come evening I finish making dinner and go to bed so I’m going to read the Old Testament first year, New Testament second year, all during the day. The concordance, tables, maps are all great.
    Thanks Randy for an awesome, honest review.

    I wish I could get these Bibles in Jamaica, I watch these videos with a little envy as we don't have these quality Bibles in my country. Furthermore, the cost is also prohibitive for me, I am a preacher of a small church on less than a shoestring budget, but I would love to have a Bible like this. I just love the Kjv and wow, how would I love to have this Bible.

      Do you know where you will spend eternity? Heaven or Hell? The bible says all men have sinned (Romans 3:23 ; Rev. 21:8), All men need a Savior. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day acoording to the scriptures. He did that to pay for all your sins, all you must do is accept his free gift of salvation (Rom. 6:23) by faith in his finished work on the cross (1 Cor. 15:1-4), for the remission of all your sins.

      @@primoservices5636 Wow. I actually use the NKJV as my main Bible even though I love the KJV. Well, I use the NKJV for everything. I've seen the NKJV preaching Bible and it looks awesome. I don't know what to say to be honest. It would work fine. Thomas Nelson is releasing a wide margin Bible Bible next year and I'm hoping by God's grace to get one of those. If I was given an option I'd prefer the verse by verse because it has the concordance, but the preaching Bible would work great. Thanks for even considering the offer, I really appreciate it.

    I am trying to decide if I Like center column REFERENCE or bottom of page.
    But Nelson does so well with center column and good PRINT with RED hilites and verses in RED in NKJV verse by verse in 10 point and good separation..e.g. Lots of white space. I like that Nelson will offer in PREMIER for one half of Schuyler. And even leather soft for half of PREMIER. With same RED. As far as I know. But goatskin feel and smell IS growing on me especially just holding it while reading. Nelson has/is rocking my world.

      Unfortunately, there isn't anything like this for the KJV in print. I use the Logos app on my tablet for a large print, single-column, KJV.
      Probably the closest is the Note Takers from CBP, but it's only 11-point.

  • @michaelreed649
    @michaelreed649 5 лет назад +4

    I am getting a gift for Christmas and planned to get a CBP top grain cowhide turquoise reference bible but this might be a better choice.
    Which would you give as a gift?
    Which one is higher quality?

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Michael! This one is a higher quality. It has better paper and a more expensive cover. I also like this layout because it doesn't include self-pronouncing text. I would choose this one unless you want a self-pronouncing text or want the original translation notes rather than the updated notes by Thomas Nelson.

      I should have finished the video before putting in a message. I was interrupted 3 times and finally able to finish it.

      @@BibleBuyingGuide thank you for your advice. I did not notice the bible was self pronouncing. That is a Great point.
      The information about the paper us big too.
      Your review does lead me to wonder what you think about it compared to the Schuyler calfskin.
      The comparison was factual and professional but what I was hoping for is more of a personal opinion.
      The Shuyler is a past down line or I would assume it to be the better choice but there is more to a bible than numbers.
      What Feels better to you?
      Both are quality and both would do as a nice gift but which would you give if you were giving only one as a gift?

    • @BibleBuyingGuide
      @BibleBuyingGuide  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks! The Schuyler is the higher quality. Its paper is more elegant and I love that calfskin grain. The edge-lined liner of the Thomas Nelson should last much longer than the paste-down of the calfskin Schuyler (the Schuyler should last for a long time though). I'm more drawn to thinner Bibles and the Thomas Nelson is a lot thinner. I would be happy giving either one. For me, it would depend on if the person I'm giving it to prefers thinner or thicker Bibles, or if they prefer footnotes (Thomas Nelson) or section headings (Canterbury). The main reason I don't include a lot of personal opinion is I have trouble deciding lol.

      Mine is still in great condition, but I'm sure they have more use on theirs since I have to swap Bibles a lot to review them.

    I tend to judge everything by the preaching bible now. Format and font..and accent colour.

      It doesn't match the 1769 Blayney or the PCE from 1900.

    It is a great bible. However, it is pink under gold. Lets not pretend its even close to actually being red. Only 2 even get close, Schuyler and Allen, I think Allen is the darkest and closest to red. Every other one I have looked at online ect. Its always pinkish hue red. And for a dude, not ideal.
    Ofc then again. I got it for like 100 dollars. And a thinline version kjv premium for around 100 as well. Which is 10 point. I hate the ribbons, and cut them off. But the paper and print uniformity, really make Nelson premium bibles stand out for the price point. I really enjoy them alot.

    A big nice BIBLE is still BIG. And floppy in goatskin.
    Now that Holman has LARGE PRINT personal SIZE.
    I imagine I will save money from here on. When a small bible has better print it rather bursts the balloon of extra big or extra small bibles.

      Yeah but Holman took out the Prelude to the Psalms shame on them I know I bought one had to return it couldn't deal with that I want the complete word of God

    I want a King James Bible with THICK PAPER I don’t care how much it costs , I’d pay $300 I’d pay $3,000 I do not care I’d get a loan if I needed it I need thick paper, this is the word of the true and living GOD why are we reduced to paper that we are afraid to break??

      Barnes and Noble made one with extra thick paper. It's a hardcover, but it's excellent. It includes artwork from Gustave Doré.

    So we could dub this bible the "American Turquoise" or "Turquoise 2.0"... from everything I've seen in this review that's what I'm seeing... it's the American version of the Turquoise.

    I cannot stand red letter bibles! They tend to not include some of what Christ said!
