I've always been a techie and love the continuing evolution of technology. I think OTG is a technology that hasn't been explained well to the average user. I'd done something similar w/ some adapters & the amazon wired ethernet adapter but this looks like a better solution so "Many Thanks!", & I really like the storage addition too, My Firestick 4k recently started doing the reboot tango so I uninstalled the adapters except the wired ethernet which means I lost my flashdrive storage. Im a newer sub just got my adapter to do this im using my drive just for apps.my question is once transferred to the drive and the app needs to be updated it it auto update to the drive or is it possible to update

My connection is with Ethernet. Followed you instructions after getting your suggested OTG but the Thumb drive would not be recognized. After significant research I located an OTG Cable to USB Hub made by SMAYS/Amazon. Continued to follow your instructions and have already been able to save 2 movies. Thank you!
I've now attached a flash drive as instructed here. I don't typically download much onto the Firestick - my downloading is done primarily on my computer or on my Tivo. So what files can I safely move over to the USB drive? What files shouldn't I move from internal storage?
I connected the OGA adapter as described. In Settings, I have an alert that says "the USB drive has been mounted, but only microSD cards can be used to expand storage for app installations". Is there a setting I need to check to make the USB drive work?

We get told to keep 1 Gb on the firestick else the stick will slow down so will the extension slow the stick down so how does it boost the speed? LOVE the channel thou the ola 8 from you is fantastic ok for the cable as i am in the UK

I followed along with your instructions. ES file exployer recognized my 2.0 32GB USB, but when I go to the download folder it says, folder empty. I know it's not because I have several apps, (about15) downloaded on my firestick. I did find your Troypoint app in the internal storage file, which I downloaded. I was able to successfully move to USB. I was also able to delete several APK files off of my F. S.,is this maybe the reason they're not showing up in the download folder? I have also downloaded a couple of apps just to see if they show up, which they don't. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Firestick 4K, OTC cable with a PNY 32GB 3.0 flash drive. I have Tivimate Premium latest version. I download Xplore file manager. When I open Xplore it nevers detects the flash drive. I tried another flash drive and same problem. Any ideas?

I just did this on my 4K stick without issues but I am not connecting with ADB shell on my non 4K stick (new purchase). Does it use a different port? It just says connecting.... I am using the correct IP. Have ensured the developer settings are correct... actually set them again... restarted it. No luck. Even tried connecting remotely from my laptop after installing ADB shell on it.
When I fitted my thumb drive my ethernet adapter stopped working! If I connect them in a different order the ethernet adapter works but the thumb drive dosn't. Looks like I can use one or the other but not both!

I'm trying to move Apps to the usb. When I select one with the check mark, I don't have 'cut' as an option. Is there another way to move Apps?

I purchased the OTG from Amazon and installed a Sandisk 32GB flash drive with no problem for the Firestick
