Great aesthetic eye for finding interesting compositions. Judging only from online comparisons but the Lumix S looks to provide more organically captured light than the Sigma f1.8 that so many go on about. A very enjoyable review.
Thank you, yes I use face/eye detect on the S series cameras. I can honestly say it's great, it's not even something I think about as it just works every shot. I use AFC and back button focus so it's always tracking ☺️
Nice pictures, really! I have just ordered the S5 with the Kit-Zoom ans the 85mm 1.8. prime. All the upcoming 1.8 lenses are the reason to buy the S5. Before this announcement i was uncertain, wether to go with Canon, Nikon or Panasonic. But i own the GH5 and a G9, so i am happy to stay in the Lumix-World :-)
Thanks so much, Dirk! You’re going to love the S5, I’ve been taking mine absolutely everywhere. I’m really looking forward to the remaining F1.8 lens to launch!
Ditto! Feel the same way and cannot wait for these primes. A great, reasonably priced prime set sealed the deal for me as well. Excellent video & beautiful photos.
@Drew Buckler You were so right :-) To be honest, i have not used my GH5 or G9 since i own the S5. It makes really fun and i am happy with it. The Kit-lens is good for daily use, my family (indoor) and so on. Ok, it is not that fast, but you can work with a high ISO-Level. Since one week i own the 85mm 1.8 and 1.8 on fullframe is another world, than 1.8 on MFT. I have to practice a bit, to get good results - but my first impression is good.
@@dirksackmann I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the S5, Dirk! For me, it's that camera I take everywhere - making it the perfect body for me. I've not played too much with the kit lens but you've inspired me to take it out next time I'm exploring!
Beautiful photos from you both and a great review. Well done! Also, it looks like the lens produces some really good, smooth non nervous bokeh, even against the tree/sky background which can often be nervous it looks very smooth and nice. Great example photos.
That’s awesome! I can’t wait to visit Bulgaria again and will definitely stop in Plovdiv! I have a couple of VLOG videos coming out soon from the trip too
Beautiful! This really makes me reconsider the s5.
Thank you! I have a whole video coming up using the awesome S5 ☺️
Stunning images and videos! I can't wait for mine to arrive!

Would recommend the s5iix for full frame portraits
Ohh I love this focal range, ohh lovely 85mm...
Thanks, Drew, for the really helpful review. Did you use face/eye detect on the S5 with this lens, and if so, how did it work out?

U have the s1 with v-log and 6k. And I’m a big fan of 85mm. Especially for video.
5:14 - a 85mm with a zoom?
Nice review - thank you very much.

@@DrewBuckler Yes, give it (the kit-lens) a try. The 20mm are great for indoor-overviews. Great range :-)
The colour out from the lens really look natural ! Can i ask are these image is RAW file or Jpeg? So nice and real!
Any experience with this lens on the SL2-S? Thank you!
I don’t sorry! I look forward to testing Leica’s in the future 😊
wow ....Will this lens work in my Panasonic G9..?
Thank you! You’ll need a G series lens for the G9, I believe the equivalent focal length is 42.5mm ☺️
@@DrewBuckler Thank you
400th sub ;)
Beautiful imagery
Thank you!
Great video.... Definitely gonna pick on 1 if the price is right.. Is pricing out yet?

Thank you so much, Rasmus! Happy to hear you liked the example images :)
Wow.. Is s5 better than s1r?
