hey man - it totally depends on the passage. if you need open strings then making it looser and towards the nut will be better than tighter and further up the neck. i also try to avoid harmonics (unless you're trying to use them).
Thanks for the clear explanation.. now I know that it benefits the fast notes as seen in your demo. At first, I thought it's like a damper to help me sound like a motown tone.. Since I play open strings most of the time and don't do solos during a gig, I better remove my scrunchie because it might appear laughable for a player like me who don't do fast solo :)
What if you wanted to fret higher up the neck, so where I’d need it I wouldn’t be able to play so can you pull it down the fretboard and play on the other side of the band? If that makes sense
Yeah I agree. Drooling. I'm gonna get one custom made from Mark Vinceguerra when possible. Check him out online. This is not an ad. I'm just a friend of his, and LOVE his bass company.
+Avery Bradley I'd definitely say so, I think it'll take any passage and make it sound cleaner, it just depends on how much open string dampening you can tolerate. Thanks Avery!
Great tips! 🎸🤘🏽 I might try that on my new fretboard. Our name sounds similar. Ha the new grooves add extra x notes to pulloffs and new bends. Overall you can create epic tapping and next level riffs. It is a subtle style at times yet can enhance styles. Love to get you 1 to promo on your channel and review. Thanks I’m pretty close to adding better vids. I am adding these vinyl decals to the grooves for style and then I’ll finish recording them. I did a cover of AC/DC thunder with extra x note on pulloffs. Great example
Anyone know where can I get this cheaper? I think $30 is a bit pricey. Also, If I have 2 5-string basses and one 4- string bass, should I get the small pack or the medium one, I'm having trouble deciding (that is if I decide to buy it at all)
I preferred the slap groove with the unwanted harmonics..
1:35 what bassline is this? I want to learn it. Amazing stuff man!

the slap part sounded way better without it
Very clever play on words ... Haslen .. You perv !!!
So small for 4 string jazz?
but if you want to play the first fret... where do you put the fretwrap?
On the side of the first fret, duh.. you press the first fret on its end
What's the name of the slapping song you we're playing? I'm a bit curious
Thanks for the information on this product!
just curious, where do you place the fretwrap if you would be doing slapping on open strings?

Where can I watch your intro fully?
I just picked up one of these myself. Can't wait to try it.
Nice! Ya I love these things, every one of my basses has one :)
That's a beautiful instrument!

Are they good for general feedback? Say if you have your bass really loud and it starts buzzing?
it's cool! hey what is the name of your bass in the video?
some medium and some small, I don't need large because I don't play 6+ strings :)
Can you make a tutorial video on that slap bass line pleaseee
What size should I get for a Fender Jazz?
James! These are Medium or Large?
exactly what I thought
thanks !!!
I bought this after watching this video.
Dude,you rock!
wwwooooow!!!

Daaamn you are good af!
Would this be worth the buy if you play rock/metal type music?
+Avery Bradley I'd definitely say so, I think it'll take any passage and make it sound cleaner, it just depends on how much open string dampening you can tolerate. Thanks Avery!
Yes because this cuts off a lot of unwanted string noise
Can someone tell me which size i need for a 4 string neck? Thanks
Small

Nice! But kinda pricey for something so easy to DIY.
Or just wrap a sock around the nut just like i did, just make sure is a clean one, you're welcome.
The price is for a pack of 3
well this dudes wearing the shirt
They are 30 $ just use a wrist band. Or hair tie.... or tie a sock around it. I still might get some but 30 $ come on

I bought more stupid stuff for way more money haha. These things really rock!
sounds way better without the fretwrap
Slap was better before
