    I think appreciate the LMR videos because they aren't always showing installs on mint clean rides... filthy and broken looking is realistic.

    Hell for an 180 dollar pump I just replaced the damn thing still Squeals just as bad. Even with a complete flush and a 1yr old rack and pinion. Maybe should go with the manual rack and delete the noise for good

    I got a 85 Capri! She is for sale 😭. California car. I am the third owner. Then second owner was my grandma's neighbor ( RIP James ). He owned car since 1992. Got it from the first owner who used to for robberies. James bored the original .30 over. Roller Rockers etc. Black / Gray with red interior. 5 speed - Last year of the 4bbl. Been sitting for awhile but she will fire up with a fresh battery and carb clean. Have a stock 94 SVT Cobra motor (120,000) with uncut factory wiring harness. Also Factory 95 Cobra R staggered wheels. Extra factory Gt40 heads/valve covers and 94 Cobra Intake. NOS Ford Motorsport B303 cam etc... $6500 or so. I would like to sell everything together. Moving out of California.. Not taking it with me but ..... keeping the 78 Bronco instead.

    I did this recently and the problem is down at the steering rack when you attempt to install the hoses! This is a beating! 🦊

    I’ve only replaced my power steering pump 16 times in the ownership of my fox bodies lol they ALL LEAK

    • @dntlss
      @dntlss Год назад

      Ive never had any issue with them leaking unless they obviously need replacing,no, thats not the problem, the problem is the noise, i cracked up at the beginning of the video when he points out that "its noisy " like it has anything to do with being old, they always make noise, new or old,every Ford vehicle with this pump makes noise and the reasons why they make noise are about 2 dozen according to different people.
      The housing is plastic,the impeller is no good,the fluid, air in the system,the hoses,, the rack, the pulley etc etc, if you wanna have a first class pump on these cars the Saginaw conversion is the way to go.

    Do i need to remove the ps and ac to put a bolt in the driver side head for an engine lift or can i just remove one of the accessories?

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  Год назад

      No, you do not. However, I would look into our engine lift options.

    How do you know if you need the Teflon washer

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  2 месяца назад +1

      It's hard to explain through a YT comment and I didn't have two different examples to show on video, unfortunately. If you're in question, just install the Teflon washer. -Landan

    Is this press fit or key way idk the difference

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  Год назад +1

      Yes, this pulley is press fit and does not use a keyway. A keyway is for alignment purposes. You see this on pulleys that have to be installed in a certain position. -Landan

    Why would a new pump whine. I've drained the fluid . Used type f. Wrong fluid? I see you use mercon v. What's the difference?

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  Год назад +1

      tim - Unfortunately, that's just the nature of this style of pump. I would get rid of the Type F and use Mercon V. I'm not sure of the scientific explanation between the two fluids. You can also add some Motorcraft XL-3 friction modifier to the system to help quieten down the pump. This procedure has been in the Ford shop manual for 30+ years. -Landan
