You are a legend i live in a rented apartment and wanted to connect my frag tank up to my apex without having giant holes in the walls where i had to fit the usb ends through. Now I can just have 2 small holes for a wire. Thank you

just fyi. the extra "string" inside cat5 or cat6, is for you to pull back, to cut the insulation, so you dont nik the wires with a razor blade.

I made this! But for whatever reason I made it with UTP and not STP. I was really tired when I made it and ran it. Everything is working fine. 75 feed total run. It’s for my DOS water change system.

You ever try to scope the connections on the aquabus? Was trying to decide if doing this over a wireless IO bridge was doable

Is the thickness of the shield terminal connector thin enough where two can be plugged side by side into the Apex?

So using a Cat6 will not impact the overall length limit on the Apex system as much as a USB?

It is really just whatever is more convenient or cheaper. There is a company that will make you a plain usb male to male cable in up to 200ft lengths specifically for the apex ($$$), so USB will work fine- there is power being supplied over aquabus, but any usb cable should be able to handle that even in long runs.
