Sandy did took out many enemy's, Yukikaze mostly run awey and by chance was not targeted as much.
I know this is a few months old, but thought I'd chime in. Using USN Battle Star rules she'd probably have around 13 battle stars by my reckoning, putting her 5 below Sandy or 7 below Enty. She'd be in the higher echelons of ships in the USN, but for destroyers she'd still be below ships like O'Bannon, Maury, Nicholas, Buchanan, Russell, Saufley, Taylor, Morris and Fletcher.

It is funny how Yukikaze was built in Sasebo since Sasebo was also the main home port of Shigure (hence the "Shigure of Sasebo") who she is depicted to have a rivalry with in Azur Lane over who the luckier/overall better ship is (Statwise Yukikaze is basically better in every way btw). Yukikaze's home port was often Kure (hence "Yukikaze of Kure")

While general consensus conclude that Yukikaze is the lucky ship that cannot sink, there is also another interpretation of the Yukikaze as a cursed ship that brings misfortune to those who serve alongside her. And considering the results of the battles she participated in, it would not be too far away from the truth.
Someone did an in-depth biography of Yukikaze's "colorful" career from her service in the IJN and to the ROCN, and most of the incidents happening during her time do support the idea that she is either cursed, or just sucks away the luck out of everyone she serves alongside with and bring them misfortune.
In this story, here are the ships of Azur Lane that will meet a tragic fate whenever Yukikaze is around:
Hatsushimo: Sunk after hitting a naval mine. The very same naval mine that Yukikaze collided with but went through unharmed
HMS Aurora (ROCN flagship Chongqing): Defected to the PLA on the very day Yukikaze finished repairs and left port
Oh and after Taiwan finished turning in pieces of Yukikaze to Japan to enshrine.......The Japanese economic bubble burst.

Thank you for making this video. I've never interested in WW2 navy ships before and only play AL as a side game. But this video actually make me want to read the history or "IRL lore" of my favourite ships.

Yukikaze might have been ignored in the grand scheme of things because the americans prioritized more bigger ships. So I might say, Yukikaze was mostly lucky, but also partially ignored.
