    I clean the idle valve this way every month or when necessary. I also put the cloth beneath it when unscrewing or screwing it in again.

      You are going to inspect a number of items starting with your timing , idle valve, cold start tps etc.

    Great vedeo. Can you tell me where the o2 sensor is? And the vacuum line?

    Did your car go into limp mode and you fixed it by clearing this part??

      No it did not go into limp mode . It's just a symptomatic problem

      @@solveitautomotive9485 thanx for coming back to me. I have a corsa utility 1.4 2006 that goes into limp mode as soon as i rev past 2000 rpmsthen the light with the car and spanner comes on and stays there and cannot pass 4000rpm becuz it pings. Mechanic said normaly crank sensor and i replaced it still the same. New solenoid still the same. Hooked it up on machine for codes and no codes. Shop doesn't know what it could be. I have noticed that since that car with spanner came one my odometer when i press it does not go to zero so mybe something to do with that. Phoned 5 good shops and went to 2 and no one knows so trying my luck here.

    Thanks for the video, so the o ring must be right at the base of the valve?

    • @solveitautomotive9485
      @solveitautomotive9485  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks. Yes it is at the base and then fits into the tapered area on the manifold when you tighten it.

    My Corsa doesn't want to idle and it can't drive because the engine keeps shutting down

      Hi if it swings and starts but does not idle then the idle sensor and wiring might be a place to start investigating. Also depends what model you have.

      Sorry for the late reply. It's always difficult to diagnose without a proper inspection. I can only suggest that you start by asking yourself when was the last major service, petrol pump, injectors, ring wear, exhaust, sensors.Has the timing been checked. So best to take it to a reputable company if you can't do it yourself.

      Hi . This can be a number of issues from basic servicing to ecu problems. It needs to be properly diagnosed by a mechanic

    Thank you for the informative video. Well my Opel Corsa Utility 1.4i, model 2008 the idle is high, power failure and showing the engine light caution. First I thought its plug spark , then I perform minor service ( plugs, air & oil filter). I even bought the spray for Body throttle. What I have notice is if I remove the cable to idle valve it's doesn't make any changes. Do you think the idle valve is faulty?

      Hi. As I will always say , it is difficult to assess without seeing the vehicle. If you were daily driving and it happened suddenly, most probably a component has failed.
      You can start with replacing the idle valve., but there may be other issues if the engine light stays on. Rather take it to a proper mechanical shop for assessment.

    Idle control valve, not a sensor.
