    Good news. I think I got the problem that cause the high fuel consumption yesterday. I just want to verify that it was that before I post the video. It is a factory fault. Luckily free to fix it. Our car idles much less noisy now.

    The TPS can be set if you look at it, there is a one normal hole and the other is longer as it can be adjusted. Get a multimeter and back prob the center wire for voltage.
    The tps should be around 0.5v.
    Open the throttle slowly and if you see and rash jumps in voltage or if it drops down while increasing it its faulty. Fully open it must not be more than 5v. Knock on the sensor as well and if the voltage spikes up and down then its faulty.
    What is actually happening is once u let go of the accelerator the ECU thinks the throttle body is open hense why it idles high or jerks when changing gears or braking.

  • @phanuelmulovhedzi3421
    @phanuelmulovhedzi3421 Год назад +4

    To remove the small one you need to use small rashes on small extension and I have been advised not to use a cap cleaner except throttle body cleaner and it it works on me

  • @fixingstuff8117
    @fixingstuff8117 Год назад +1

    The throttle position sensor is just a variable resistor or potentiometer that can be easily checked with a multimeter. Mine changes from about 6.5k to 900 ohm max to min.
    The idle control sensor is actually a actuator. If it gives problems,take it out, connect plug. Hold the tip so it does not go in, and switch on car. Switch off and let it go out. Continue untill it is all the way out. Then clean with break cleaner/ thinners. Push some grease in to hole. Put back pin. Now switch on ignition and keep pushing the pin in. It should stick out enough when you put it back in throttle body, otherwise you get high idle. To summarize, every time you switch on ignition the idle control valve pulls in a little to increase idle speed. Then it goes back out to lower idle. If it is sticky it mostly pulls in but doesn't go out an cause high idle. A Little cleaner an grease causes many more available parts at the dealers for everyone. Moral of the story, throwing money at problems doesn't solve them.

    When changing idling valve take out battery terminals off then instal the sensor the put the battery on again then start the car, it will rev higher then tap the accelerator and then switc it off then back on again then it should be fine. Opel idling valve is not a plug and play guys .

    @markkapiera6595 Год назад +2

    You can set your tps with a t10 torx. Get a multi meter as well.
    Not all brands have the same spec. eg: euromoto and Sebring, doesn't run on the same spec.
    The car should idle at 850 rpm not 1000 rpm.
    The part should put 0.5 volts with the ignition on.
    Try it! Trust me, that's a battle I can say I triumph!

    GM still has original spares. You just won't like the price. All aftermarket parts don't work. That's because they were not specifically made for the Corsa B and the tolerances aren't correct. So if you want the genuine idle valve sensor you will be looking at 5k. And it will work as intended. Sad but true. (Same for tps which genuine part is close to 3k).

    My corsa does the same thing and I have changed all the sensors but the problem does not get fixed. It starts well and idling less 1000rpms but it changes after some time and sometimes it waits for me to put it on gear and it would start idling over 2000rpm. I am not even of buying a new throttle body or doing an engine swap because this corsa engine is giving me headaches with this idling thing.

      Before you do anything else look at the timing gear at the bottom. Sometimes the key way gets worn. It moves half or one tooth out of time as you drive. That will also cause loss of power.

    Hi I'm in need of advice...I have a opel corsa lite 1.4i and been giving me some problems.okay once driving about 3-4 km then the car starts to jerk n losing power,sometimes it comes right after few minutes and most of the time it take about 15-20 mins to come right whilst driving.so now got a mechanic and so we started trying to find the fault we tried new plugs new bougi cords new fuel pump and filter cleaned the injectors cleaned the fuel tank cos it was very dirty checked the timing it was off, new water pump and fan belt put in. But the car still has the same problem that jerking and losing power. I was told by another guy who had the same problem, it's the idle valve sensor or the fuel pump relay ...which I recently bought both the mechanic said no it could be the throttle body sensor or the coil so anyone had this problem with their corsa any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.thanks

      Sounds like something is failing. Could be the petrol sencor. The ideling control sensor will make the car idle verry high or verry low. And the engine check light will come on. Tps sensor high ideling but no engine light. Could be an injector messing around.

The spring you forced NEVER was/is an issue, you just making matters worse
