First of all Happy Birthday for next week !! 🥳🎉🎂. Thanks so much for showing how you do vinyl printing as I had no idea how it was actually done and so many people talk about it. That T shirt looks awesome on you and also the V neck one. I don't use stay tape I use Vlieseline Flexible seam tape which is super soft and you don't know it's there. It's so funny as only recently I saw something about hemming on a serger and I wanted to try that, wish I had known about it before I bought a coverstitch 😂. Good luck with the Malva tee 🤞🏼. Have a great weekend ❤ xxx
Thank you so much Carole, I hope you are on your holiday having fun! I think I’m putting the stay tape in the wrong spot or something because it feels soft until it starts poking me 🤣I am so glad I tried that hem on pajamas first, now I have it as an alternative to the double needle. I just love how much we all learn from each other here!!XO❤️
Happy birthday! I started sewing because I want 100% cotton clothes that aren't scratchy. I find serged edges very itchy. I am a beginner so have only sewn with woven fabrics (Yanta overalls, Sculthorpe pants, and many summer dresses). I use flat seams and french seams. So I am unlikely to use either clear elastic or stay tape.
Love your birthday tee!! I use stay tape all the time and i can’t say it’s ever bothered me. I apply it right on the seam line and when I press the shoulder seam to the back, the stay tape basically gets hidden away. Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend! 💞
Thank you so much Izzy! Now, when you do the shoulder seams, do you serge them or press them open? I wonder if it’s just the direction I pressed my serged seam…. I hope you are having a sewing weekend!! ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Mary! I ESPECIALLY love your birthday shirt since I was born in 1974 too! 😁 I use stay tape for my shoulder seams. I put it in the seam line of the back piece and when I press the shoulder seam to the back, it covers up the stay tape. When I have put it on the front piece is when I found it was scratchy and bothering me so I try to be careful about remembering to put it on the back piece (even if the pattern instructions say to put it on the front piece). I have sewn for several years and I am still looking for a perfect tshirt pattern for myself. “Why clean when you can sew instead?” Love that! 😏
@@michelle.z yay another person who is 25.. twice!! Yes I will be extra vigilant about where I put that stay tape😊 I tried to squeeze in cleaning every now and then between sewing 🤣🤣
Happy Birthday 🎉🎉

That’s what I like about wovens but I am still afraid to attempt more of them- pants will be my next adventure! Thanks for stopping by ❤️❤️

Sorry Izzy - I didn’t realize I replied on your post. I thought I made my own comment 😬
