There is another way to determine the rarity of a coaster, a way you didn't mention: go on coaster-count and gauge the coasters you've ridden by the number of riders they have had on that app. It's only a sample of the wider population, but it is an indicative sample of the coaster enthusiast community.
So funny you mentioned Desperado at the end! I was thinking it's one of my rare credits then wasn't sure if it would count. I rode it in the 90s, the thing was demented and made me an enthusiast 😅
My rarest credit is propably Cyklon, a roller coaster that used to operate in Prague, but doesn't already. It was quite iconic for the expo area in Holešovice, Prague.
Growing up in South Jersey I had plenty of rides on Jackrabbit at Clementon Park, that thing was truly falling apart by the end, I assume enthusiasts didn’t stop by there often but it was such a charming park back in the day, it’s headed back in that direction since Gene Staples though, higher quality experience despite no new rides yet.
In that case, they should allow roller coaster enthusiasts to get a slip from guest services which would allow them to ride. Parks like Cedar Point do that.
My rarest is probably desert storm at castles n’ coasters. It’s so out of the way of other parks out in a very dry state for coasters as well. (pun not intended) It’s super unique as well with some questionable track profiling and one of only two Hopkins loopers left in the world and I think it’s an absolute blast of a ride
I'd say my rarest credits are the mountain coaster at Mystic Mountain Jamaica, the old defunct kiddie coaster at fun spot Kissimmee (only open for 3 years), Pteranodon Flyers, the 2 strickers grove coasters, and shadow stalker by built to thrill
I got an even rarer credit, Pteranodon Flyers with two adults on the bird for some extreme swinging! That last turn was wicked! I worked in IoA for a couple years!
So jealous of you getting to ride Brava and the Axis prototype, those are some very solid credits! My proudest credit currently is Gravity Max at LIHPAO Discovery World. I think that's probably the best I've got in terms of a world-famous coaster that most enthusiasts never get the chance to ride. In terms of what my ACTUAL rarest credits would be, I discovered a hand-built human-powered coaster at a playground that wasn't on RCDB prior to my visit, so that was cool (although it was tiny and nothing special), and I've been invited to ride a semi-famous backyard coaster soon as well! Great video, and looking forward to the follow-up!
@@CoasterDash Much more smoothly than I expected! I wouldn’t complain about any roughness whatsoever. Obviously the layout is pretty dull but the tilt track was a special experience, and I can’t wait for the new-gen ones to open!
Great video! I enjoyed watching! I think Boardwalk Bullet is a rare coaster credit for you. Son of Beast is the only one i rode that might be considered rare.
The only rare coaster mentioned here that I've been on is Desperado at Buffalo Bills. I grew up in Southern California and we used to go to Vegas a lot. Buffalo Bills sits on the state line off I 15 which is the interstate we would take.
Ive been wondering if mountain coasters count to coaster credits. I think they should. Much more so than kiddie coasters. The single rail at anakesta is awesome. Im so jelly of your povs in parks that dont allow it. Great job.
I think mine is Mission Ferrari at Ferrari World, what an experience especially because before I went it had been down for weeks and opened the day I was at the park, what a crazy experience and I think a cool rare credit
I'd say my rarest credits are travelling coasters that are unique (so no spinning wild mouse). Olympia Looping, Eurocoaster and Alpina Bahn come to mind. Some coasters that are now long-defunct, such as Efteling's Pegasus, their original Dinn wooden coaster. The only coaster with a brakeman I've been on is the Wiener Hochschaubahn. Also oddities such as De Waarbeek's Rodelbaan, a unique coaster at an out-of-the-way park. I guess Matterhorn Bobsleds is also an unique coaster, but it's at a very popular park.
Also considering Desperado is almost 30 years old, Buffalo Bills should consider reopening it and host some kind of big anniversary celebration for it and so enthusiasts can ride it🤞🏻
Pteranodon Flyer is sincerely one of the scariest rides I've ever ridden. I never rode it as a child but I have as a parent. The scary factor is very unusual. You see, there is basically a high loose seat belt and a pretty loose T bar. And I rode it with my 3 year old daughter who of course sat in front. But you are far enough away from your child that if they tried to get out of their restraint you'd never be able to reach them. And seriously, this would not be a difficult restraint to get out from as a child if a child was determined. It is almost like riding a ski lift but if you had to sit in the gondola behind your child who sat alone. I mean, it's not quite that unsafe but it's not that far off. So it was terrifying but only because I was worried if my 3 year old decided to do something dumb.
Mine are Revolution (one of 3 Arrow shuttle loops), Steeplechase (only remaining Arrow single rail), Grand National (one of 2 remaining wooden möbius loops) and when it still had the stand up trains Shockwave (last Intamin stand up).
I will let you know about Desperado as I will be staying at Buffalo Bills in May when I help my friend move to Utah. :) I will say though I have ridden it before when I was in my 20’s.
The rarest two credits I have are Shock at Magicland in italy, a maurer launched x-car model and Monopoly: The Ride at hasbro park in some random mall in mexico city, a wiegand (I think) launched inverted coaster. Shock is very much worth the drive out of rome for its launch alone
Having grown up in Youngstown, Ohio, my rarest credits are from the long ago-defunct Idora Park (Jack Rabbit and Wild Cat), plus coasters at Geauga Lake, Conneaut Lake Park (Blue Streak for me as well), long gone coasters at Cedar Point, Kings Island and, since moving out west, Desperado at Buffalo Bill's.
My home park growing up was Geauga Lake. And so Conneaut Lake Park wasn't too far away. Blue Streak was a fun, if rough, ride. Would be cool to see a list of your fave defunct coasters
It’s officially official🥳👏🏻🎢🫰🏻💛 Congratulations on 25K subs! Love that there’s 2 rare wild mouse credits on this list😊🐭 After some thought, I think I can actually answer Flitzer at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in NJ to be my rarest coaster credit. It’s no longer rideable and the manufacturer Zierer is kind of obscure in the enthusiast realm.
I think its Wildfire in Komarden. The park is hard to reach for most people and requires a big drive out of central europe, so its off most peoples europe-tours. After that i'd say Dynamite and El Toro in Germanys Freizeitparkplohn, since it applies the same rules I think some coasters in the north UK also hold up
Desperado opening year was amazing! Williams Grove Cyclone, super jenky and really scary! Hercules, King Kobra shuttle loop at KD. Lightning Loops at SFGA. Jack Rabbit Clementon Park. Original Steel Phantom, Drachen Fire. Not a coaster but Haunted House that burned down at SFGA. Old Tobbagan coaster at Lakemont Park. Also coasters at Geauga Lake. Raging Wolf Bob's.
My most obscure must definitely be the rollercoaster I rode at Furuvik as a child. Looking it up on rollercoaster databases there are no photos and nothing is known of when it was built, who built it or exactly when it closed. I remember it being fun but very intimidating as a kid. But most likely it was only a family coaster. 😄 I also rode the classic wood coaster at Liseberg in the late 80s. That coaster is close to my heart because it's a coaster my dad rode in the 40s! It kind of make it a historic bond between us since we both rode it as kids. I also rode a coaster in a small park (Boom ka boom) in the Philippines that I hope has been demolished by now. Let's just say it wasn't westerner friendly. As a rather tall Swede that ride almost broke my back. The most terrifying family coaster I ever did, for all the wrong reasons.
Only done the one in europe had to choose between going into canada or doing the enchanted forest. Canada won. altough the little kiddy coaster i did in seaside might meat the criteria not that it was great coaster but i had a couple of hours to spare before i needed to catch the plane.
I'd love to see you visit some of the parks we have here in Italy, and hear your thoughts about them! We have Gardaland (my homepark and the one that made me an enthusiast) and Movieland for the theming, and Mirabilandia for the coasters (Katun and ISpeed are easily the best in the country). And if you plan to visit Rome we also have Magicland and Cinecittà World. I understand we lack the major new coaster to attract people from overseas, we haven't seen a new major coaster in Italy for almost a decade now, and italian enthusiasts are very angry about this. But maybe someday, if you get the chance...
I’d love to visit Italy’s theme parks! Like you said, they haven’t received a standout roller coaster like so many other countries in Europe. Inevitably it will happen, we just don’t know how soon. Maybe Gardaland’s 50th anniversary will see something big added. Thanks for watching!
@@CoasterDash We are all hoping for a new coaster for Gardaland's 50th anniversary! We will see! Anyway, thank you for your content, love your channel😊
My grandparents live there and it hurts knowing that every time I visit them, I will be really close to a ride that I likely will never be able to ride. (Until Axis coasters get put in parks!)
I Have A Couple Of Rare Credits Blue Streak (Conneaut) Apocalypse The Ride (Now Firebird A B&M Floorless) Petrandon Flyers King Cobra Georgia Cyclone And Hypersonic XLC
I know it ain’t happening but is there a chance you could go to universal studios Hollywood on may 30th and maybe californias great America on Mother’s Day I just really want to meet you but you have 25k subs so this ain’t happening but I was just asking been watching you since 2022
My rarest non alpine credit is wild mouse at Idlewild and my rarest alpine credit is the mountain coaster in mystic mountain Jamaica ( not worth it, it’s a complete scam )

I believe the reason Pteradon flyers has the height limit is the painfully low capacity at just around 170 riders per hour
In that case, they should allow roller coaster enthusiasts to get a slip from guest services which would allow them to ride. Parks like Cedar Point do that.
My rarest is probably desert storm at castles n’ coasters. It’s so out of the way of other parks out in a very dry state for coasters as well. I went on Heisse Fahrt that last summer, too, and I loved it -- but I always love Gerstlauer Bobsleds.
It’s an awesome model, but Heiße Fahrt had to have been my favorite
@@CoasterDash I love them all, but I think G’sengte Sau is my favorite. Thors Hammer is really cool, too.
I got an even rarer credit, Pteranodon Flyers with two adults on the bird for some extreme swinging! That last turn was wicked! I worked in IoA for a couple years!
That sounds awesome! No clue why adults can’t ride that thing 😅

@@CoasterDash Much more smoothly than I expected! I wouldn’t complain about any roughness whatsoever.

I guess my rarest coaster is Drachen Fire at BGW during opening year, loved that ride.
