    F.L.Y. is my favourite Vekoma. It is such a wonderous experience and it's incorporation into Rookburgh is perfection. I love how if you're staying at the hotel Charles Lindbergh the coaster is literally just outside your hotel room.

  • @vladimirmosimann3807
    @vladimirmosimann3807 Год назад +5

    Fair list as you took all kind of coasters that can't really be compared to each other !
    And they deserve a huge respect to have made what so many compagnies don't want to... sit at a table, put their ego beside and look straight into the problems instead of acting like they missed it to improve and they made probably the most difficult and risky decision to erase the base of their business and restart from ZERO !
    It takes balls to make this move and we all see everywhere around the world at our work that not everybody by far could make what they did, improve the failures and innovate.

    It's really interesting to think that Vekoma was able to make smooth coasters for years before Formula. Disney has a larger budget but it still means Vekoma was able to make it happen. Maybe their coasters just required WAY more maintenance in order to stay smooth and now they last longer before becoming rough. Also, Disney didn't buy many coasters with OTS and the ones they did buy weren't the bulky SLC type.
    My point is that they've been capable of greatness for a long time but only recently found a way to make that greatness broadly accessible.

    Got to experience Fønix myself this summer and yeah, that ride is just fun incarnate! I'm nowhere near as much of a positive G fan as Taylor but Fønix just did everything with flying colours! Am really glad we have a world class coaster like this in my home country, and am so glad it helped bring attention to Denmark and the other hidden gems we have here like Piraten, Lynet, Falken, Rutschebanen, and Juvelen.

    Colorado Adventure really surprised me at my visit to Fantasialand last summer. Honestly, I preferred it over Taron. The length, the airtime with those lap bars and the awesome headchoppers + theming make this maybe the best family coaster in Germany. (As for Taron, I love the launches but I got stapled so badly that there basically was no airtime)

    5:55 EE isn't the first Vekoma to have rails on the outside, they made Wild Mouse coasters in the 80s like that and there are some roller skaters built before 2006.

    Although I haven't done too many by Vekoma, no.1 is definitely F.L.Y. (my overall no.3), followed by both Velocity and Kumali from Flamingo Land which you visited earlier this year. I rank Velocity above 2 B&M Gigas and 4 B&M Inverts (it was running a lot faster last year), and Kumali is almost as good as Nemesis in my opinion (this year is the only year that it's been at all rough - it's always glass smooth and very forceful). I know you're not nearly as big of a fan of the park as anyone in the UK, or me especially, but if you come back again at some point when they're getting another big new thrill coaster, hopefully you'll enjoy your time there a bit more.

    Colorado Adventure and F.L.Y in my Homepark made me like Vekoma alot, and i am a fan of SLCs even tho i´ve never been on Great nor easter. The one at Moviepark is pretty enjoyable in the first 3 rows since it only packs one punch after the sidewinder, but It was Kumali and Odyssey which made me really like SLCs. They have their MK-700 and MK-900 track designs used for rides like Megablitz (Wiener Prater), Vogel Rok (Efteling), Revolution (Bobbejaanland), etc. Also many of their smaller family coasters used rails on the outside for years, such as Gadget's Go Coaster (Disneyland). 🙂

    Does anyone know why there is only one new flying coaster so far? F.L.Y. is generally praised to be fun for enthusiasts as well as GPs and compared to other flying coasters the boarding process is much more improved to increase capacity. Are parks still shying away because of the experience with older models (both B&M and Vekoma)? Is it maintenance costs due to more complex trains? Price?

    • @extrakubik4123
      @extrakubik4123 Год назад +4

      My opinion is that there are 2 major reasons for that. First is what everyone now wants from a coaster is, RMC hyper hybrid or raptor and also multilaunch coasters are very popular right now. And they're all brutally good rides, that there is ALWAYS someone to have them in their top 10, or even as No.1. This is bringing me to the second reason. If for example Energylandia would build a Vekoma flyer, it wouldn't still be as good as F.L.Y. because that thing is unique. Sure others may bring back monstrous stats and intensity, but since F.L.Y. is here, I think that most of us made think of it as a perfect flying coaster. It's all about theming, and if some other park would try to do the same as Phantasialand, they would fail, because they made it SO GOOD THAT NOT EVEN IF UNIVERSAL OR DISNEY MADE ANOTHER VEKOMA FLYER, EVERYONE WOULD STILL PREFER F.L.Y. BECAUSE IT'S IDEAL FLYING COASTER.
      Took me longer than expected, oops

    A question about the AXIS Coaster topic. Do you think that Galaxyland has a chance of getting an AXIS Coaster in Mindbenders plot of land since Hasbro took over

      Nope.
      Budget wise, I'll be surprised if they get a small family boomerang from either Vekoma or Gerstlauer (Ben10 or Rewind Racers) and 1 or 2 large flats. Galaxyland has become a pseudo-FEC catering overall to young families.
      Whatever is replacing Mindbender won't a thrill attraction.

    For me I preferred abyssus over formula @ energylandia - thought the airtime was better and surprised me much more. Both very good little coasters.

    Is it right that Energylandia postponed their tilt coaster?

      Not postponed. They canceled the order.
