If the driver recieves a Felony conviction for the theft of a motor vehicle, she forfeits her legal right to be in possession of a firearm. That's a lifetime penalty she's imposed on herself by her act of stealing the motor vehicle by failing to return it to its lawful owner. Being a person of good character has benefits, the lawful possession of a firearm being one of the most beneficial.
This would never stand up in court, if she got a good attorney. Report it stolen. Say it's not stolen. Then let the cop talk you into saying it's stolen. 😂

The cops told us we can ask the friend nicely but since was given permission by the husband they can return it at their leisure. Seriously? We had to explain my daughter needs her car back and then, after a reasonable amount of time we could file a report to get the car back. Luckily the lady didn't know this and Gabe it back . Legally, she could have kept it for a few days and the cops couldn't really get involved.
