Nah the successor to the Lightning should have been a sport truck. Not popular these days so makes sense why they pivoted, but definitely not an offroader. On that note the closest thing in recent years to the OG Lightning was the ~2014 Tremor.
@@MaddNomad1015 yeah definitely not bad, and heck even a base 5.0 regular cab with just a few small tweaks is likely the spiritual successor though would be cool to see Ford lean into that even slightly to offer something like that from the factory.
Great video again and a great insight. I hope you will do more on Shelby vehicles and show us more of the cars and trucks that they make. And Larry if you can visit Superformance in California I think you would be in for a treat.
This truck makes no sense. You can buy the R which has a better suspension and a 5.2 supercharged motor for around the same cost. No reason this truck should exist.
Shelby American these days are just double dipping in the market without doing much. Super Snake Mustang for example is more of a Shelby American built GT500 if they didn’t sell rights to Ford.
No. Two misses in a row. First the "Celica because its just a livery". The one we should have gotten are those monster single cabs with a blower on them. This is just a regular f150.

FP700 package is the closest we get.

Shelby also offers lowered and Supercharged f150s. I assume they facelift is coming next year
Nothing like the lighting.... they were beautiful cars. Sound awesome with exhaust
Those stock f150 brakes are tiny. I would think for the money you would get a set of big brakes. But overall is a nice truck.

Another excellent video😎
Reg cab short bed.....still waiting
Have to build an old one ourselves. No hint in sight the factories are listening.
But who even buys a regular cab truck (besides my brotherin from South of the border)? 😂😂
I wanna see the 4WD 24/7 guys try that out
You never disappoint Larry
No regular cab for us unless we build an old one got it.
What is the towing capacity?
If it was single cab and low to the ground then maybe it’d be a Lightning successor

It's like a Walmart mountain bike

Bad ass truck
The Lightning was a street truck. Yes, this one is a supercharged Ford truck but that's about as close as it gets to a Lightning.
Nice to see one of these trucks being used in the wild, abused a bit. Having fun. Cause no one is doing that with these.
Surely the Lightning should be a road/track version not an off roader 🤔🤷♂️

Eh GR86 was always a roundabout 1st gen Celica throwback anyways, this Shelby though is a lifted FP700 with a Shelby badge
I might opt in for the Raptor R for 100k than spent 140k for this Shelby. I can buy another mustang GT with that extra money.
Raptor R > Shelby F150
WaZz up
Too much badging on the rear and in the wrong places
00:30 cringe
Wrong Shelby 5.0 to review find a single cab
