You're all amazing and I can't thank you enough for watching.
I had to remaster this because the audio was pretty bad and there were graphics issues and what am I even doing with my life if the Capstone trilogy is incomplete?
Civvie 11 they have 4 games mate
you missed witch haven
And Witchaven 2.
I'm not looking forward to it.
you mean they somehow had a sequel before their pinnacle crashed the fuck ontop of them?
Witchaven II: Blood Vengence. BLOOD. VENGENCE. SO METAL.
Civvie 11
I didn't know there was a witch haven 2 I remember playing the first one as a kid alongside tekwar. fair warning witch haven is the worse of the two so I am looking foward to your review
Past Civvie: "Please refrain from talking to the editors, CV-11."
Present Civvie: "KATIE, YOU BITCH!"
He wore his captors down
I think the bots used to edit Civvie's Dungeon (lorewise) but then they realized they can make another convict edit the show. And that's how we got Katie.
The guards choose their battles
@@DashingSteelactually it says edited by cv-16 in the credits of this episode
Present Present Civvie: "Guy's I need to be real with you, Katie's not even real"
“Do we have a time machine?”
Turns out they did.
You don't need to remaster anything but I won't complain. I am happy about ALL civvie 11 uploads!
Damn straight.
Now there 98 vids
@FML Back when I wrote that comment civvie's was a rather small channel and I wanted to encourage him because I really enjoyed his content. I would not write it like this again. But deep in my heart I still feel this way!
And you better have something nice to say about him as well you punk!
your damn right brother ^^
looking back at the series i"m sad that Capstone: "The Pinnacle of Entertainment Software" went down. Civvie11 vs Capstone was an epic tale just like AVGN vs LJN
He still has to cover Witchaven II.

Civvie, I been with the subscribed ever since your Hunt Down the Feeman review and your channel is my favorite review channel
Same. I'm glad you did the Hunt Down The Freeman episode, because I was watching everything about that train wreck ,and because of that I found your channel too, Civvie.
i also would say the exact same thing. i watch between 5 and 10 videos every day. And i'm actualy not joking. What i'm doing with my life?
Excellent! The Capstone cir... triangle is complete!
I'm fairly certain the death noise is from Alien. It's the noise Kane makes around the time the Chestburster pops out.
I was about to post this, but decided to peruse the comments before doing so. It's definitely a clip from Alien, I had to play them side-by-side haha!
Pinnacle of Intellectual Thievery
It would be appropriate, given that they already used the same model of shotgun as Hicks' signature weapon.
Abwhuh!
HEUBWEH
I love civvies videos so much even these ancient ones are a treat to watch through. I always like the "lore" or whatever you want to call it. It never overstays it's welcome like it can in some RUclips shows. But because it's used sparingly it's always a treat. Civvie doesn't do that kind of stuff as much anymore which is kinda sad but his newer stuff is great too.
Hearing that time travel joke @2:10 after watching the Duke Nukem Forever video really messed with me. It's as if Civvie has been planning the continuity of these episodes since the very beginning, and the meta of these reviews is gonna grow into a story all its own. I don't know if I should be giving him credit for setting that up in advance, or if it's all some coincidence but MAN, I am officially hooked. This man truly deserves his subs.
and here we are now with the civvie11 cinematic universe (TM)
there are so many continuing gags and jokes in all his videos even now
that just happened to me too, lol
Happy 5 year anniversary to the Best Show on RUclips™️, Civvie's Dungeon!
This is the very first episode? The channel's stayed so consistent. Did you have this all planned out from the start? Any past productions/experience? Also so very sad this channel's not huge but also it's my precious little gem and I love the exclusivity.
Well, he did break 200K subscribers. So, channel is recognized but still kind of an exclusive, precious little gem.
1234cheerful civvie’s fame extends past his sub count. He’s cameoed in postal now.
He couldn't disappoint the fans.
It seems he experiments a tad with the voices in later episodes but clearly decides that the first one was best (or he rerecorded all the voices for this vid which is possible)
@@chadrageus couldn’t disappoint the fans
The death sound was taken from the scene in ALIEN right before the chest burster comes out. Your hilarious with the mini gun thing I must have rewinded that like 10 times.
"You can shoot through force fields"
*looks at Half Life 2*
I think the real question is if those are even supposed to be force fields?
Yeah yeah and you can’t just shoot a hole into the surface of Mars.....oh wait
@@ofearghailthefearless6481 bahahaha!!!
Civvie, thank you so much for reviving the angry review genre on RUclips. Not that the genre doesn't get new content, it's just all the angry review channels have either fallen off or have always been garbage so I appreciate your comedy, pacing, creativity, lack of audio mixing and consistency being so much greater than your RUclipsr peers. Thanks for being the cream of the crop at being the funny man playing crap and occasionally decent games.
I've talked with Les who worked on the game and runs the site where you can download the floppy version and Corridor 8. They had alot of stuff planned for Corr8 it may of been a decent game. And hey there is a Doom mod for Corridor 7 that fixes alot of things, and adds better lighting.
Doom, the pinnacle of indirect remakes of games.
I miss the civvie shocking and lore in the newer videos. Is that intentional? Are you creating nostalgia within your nostalgia fueled brand? Scary sly if so.
(correct me if I skip some detail but)
I mean, CIvvie did rat out on where his terrorist uncle is after getting one too many spoopy apocalyptic dreams in one of his videos. The government(?) could be more lax on him as they could just torture his uncle for the more disturbing intel. Getting civvies disturbed childhood memories more describes his Uncle instead of tracking him down. On why Civvie is still here, either he's there as a sort of bartering option for more secrets out of his uncle, or as a matter of keeping him in if he's somehow turnt into a weapon before getting taken in.
Oh yeah, and the robots monitoring Civvie seem to be rebelling against the dungeon managers, that could be a thing too, as well as that terminator thing, and probably whatever new threat tease is happening.
Can't believe I'm replying to a few months old comment, seeing as his newer videos has some more lore (potentially enough lore to create a doom fan mod) but that's the gist of what's happening.
@@furryfoxontinder5754 I'm glad you did, that's an excellent summation. And no, there isn't much more lore than what you've described as far as I know. Except we learned cancer mouse asserts that the Disney PC efforts exist to brainwash people somehow. (Cancer mouse invariably makes me giggle and is by far my favorite element of the lore.)
@@Innomen The way I see it Cancer Mouse is a mouse that did get sapience (?) from his brain mutating from radiation but unfortunately it also came with him having a demented (or at least more demented than the rest of us) view of the world
@@ArcturusOTE That was my read as well.
@TechnicalTortuga Ad revenue AND Patreon money, I doubt the government even admits the existence of the dungeon
Actually really enjoyed playing this when it first came out with my dad. But then he bought the registered version of Doom...
Needless to say, it was pretty apparent what the superior game was!
You continued playing Corridor 7, right?
I played this after Doom and loved it. All the flashing lights on the walls, the health chambers, the triangular gun...
yeah,i know,corridor 7 humiliates doom
A youtuber called me out today for saying something was "superior", he said that people who "deal in such concepts" are "usually trash". Well I'm here to say that guy was a dimwit and you sir are absolutely right.
@@wtfiswiththosehandles Yes. I eventually finished the CD-ROM version of Corridor 7. The fact that you could play more of the game by going into the portal instead if destroying it blew me away as a kid. It's a fun game and I really enjoyed the art style and the dark oppressivenes.
I loved the minigun in C7. I know I'm weird, but as far as capstone games went this one was a fun way to spend time on the PC at the time. Also that death sound. My father and I still make that noise at each other randomly.
I got Corridor 7 from one of those "20 CD-ROM packs" you could buy at Sam's Club back in the '90s. This video was very enlightening, as the game ran exactly one time for me and refused to defeat DOS hell after that.
Happy four years, Civvie! One of my favorite channels right here. The Capstone tetralogy is the PINNACLE of RUclips entertainment.
Your work is precious, sir. Infinitely rewatchable, knowing and consistently funny. Cheers to you and the inevitable subs milestones. My only regret from the initial few videos is the crushing sense that you are reenacting Ellison's No Mouth...which you are, but only a little bit.
I'm really not sure why someone would willingly title their early 90s FPS game "Corridor 7" unless they knew it was shit. "Corridor Game" is what people who didn't like FPSes referred to FPSes as back in those days before the term "FPS" was common. It'd be like making a sandbox game named "Time-wasting-field 9" or a 3D Platform game "Collectibles 12."
I don't really remember "corridor shooter" becoming a thing until the more linear and cinematic FPS games started coming out to differentiate the two. Now nobody really uses the term anymore and just says, "old school shooters."
It is a lame name though. It's like they said, "well this game has hallways, get me a thesaurus. Also put a random number on the end so it'll be like Wolfenstein 3D, but make it a BIGGER number."
What are you talking about? Corridor shooters weren't even a thing back then, the closest you had was rail shooters and those were pretty great, also FPSes is just a plural of FPS so it can't come first and people mostly referred to them as doomlike.
@@SPTX. "Corridor Game" and "Maze Game" were terms used to refer to early shooters, often disparagingly. Not as common as "Doom clone" but I remember it fairly distinctly. Yeah the term "Corridor Shooter" became more associated with super-linear FPS games later on but the term was often used to refer to how Wolfenstein and Doom were just mazes made up of corridors. The term became less common around the time FPSes with more open or vertical game design became common.
@@SPTX. Corridor, meaning mostly interior, like wolfenstein, doom, catacomb 3d, etc. Games that couldn't do large outside areas (atleast well).
@@gozinta82 I get the semantics. What I'm saying is that he is full of shit.
Besides OP I can only find like two-people calling these "corridor shooters", I'm not sure this is enough to make it a thing.
It's amazing that you had this entire mythos already way back then. glad I found your channel
I love your postal 2 videos, and my grandpa likes Corridor 7. I'm watching this for 2 reasons.
I seriously thought they actually remastered this game.

Just recently found your channel, and it’s one of the best ever! You are hilarious :)
I remember having this on what felt like dozens of floppy disks. One of the first games I played as a kid, either shortly before or after getting Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger and starting my 25 years of wasting time in video games. I completely forgot those memories until I saw this video. Thanks.

Gods I've been binging your content and it's good to know your subplot has always been badly explained. I love it so much!
10/10 best minigun ever
more games need hilariously slow minigun
The death sound reminds me of Kane during the chestburster scene in Alien.
The shotgun is probably a reference to Aliens, as Hick's shotgun is an Ithaca model 37 I believe. They were popular back in the day.
Civvie why don’t you have a million subs your channel is amazing
Much love, Civvie. You 're the man.

Capstone, the LJN of PC games.
Damn Don't insult capstone like that, ljn had even less effort put in.
@@dragenfire68 corridor 7 should have been released on the cd32
What is LJN ??
@@aaadj2744 an acronym for Laughing Joking Numbnuts. That's all you need to know.
@@aaadj2744 JK. In the 80's and 90's LJN was a corporation that used to create/publish games of licensed movies, like terminator, x-men, spiderman, beetlejuice, etc. If you see the AVGN reviews of some of those games you'll see the huge amount of shit factor and incompetence put on those games.
So this is like an early example of a modern "triple A" game?
You know, those games that regardless of how big their budget is, are made by a team of several programmers and an army of visual artists but not a single proper "game designer" or "level designer"
Fairly true. Atari and many other companies were guilty of this same thing that caused the video game crash back in the early 80's. Many companies thought that just because certain topics were selling like hotcakes, that they could put the same topics into garbage design and make profit off of it. Soon after, people just stopped buying games because they were sick of being burned. This is why I don't really buy many new games, I've plenty of older games to go through that I haven't beaten yet.
@@gozinta82 Mmmmm-no. The crash of '83 was caused by oversaturation. Nine video game consoles, most of their libraries were shared ports, and quality assurance and compelling diversity between them was basically nonexistent .
@@MaxUltimata No? There was an oversaturration of bad games, by atari more than any other company. Atari is guilty of this.
@@gozinta82 yes and no
While bad fames were one of the reasons it wasnt the only reason
Saturation was this can be seen by the fact that the crash only affected the us market with at the times was the one with the most consoles and games and people didnt know what to buy so they buyed a bicicle instead or a pc because pc gaming grow after the crash ( there was never a risk of gaming dying as some claim)
@@valletas wasn't just an oversaturation of bad games. Completely paid off reviews were everywhere too. The convenience of things like user reviews, gameplay footage, independent reviewers (almost all reviewers at one point worked for a company) didn't exist. After a certain point, game reviews were about as trustworthy as a politician and the only way to be sure was either to buy the game or by word of mouth, and since word of mouth was hard to come by, people just would rather not risk the money.

My parents bought me this game way back in the day. I got to play it for a little bit, before something happened and it wouldn't work anymore. Even in that short time it played, I knew it wasn't a good game. Thanks for making this video so I can see what I wasn't missing.
civie11 you have forgotten 2 capstone relics, "Witchaven" and it's sequel.
He did it now
Marrvyns Willames@ now only witchaven 2 remains.
Just thought i'd mention, the player death sound is ripped straight from Alien. It's one of the many noises Kane makes right before he dies.
Wow Corridor 7, this was a title my dad told me to try on the windows 3.1 PC we still had in the mid 00's. It took him a minute to remember how to get the Dos to read the game but once it got running it was something interesting to play. I have the soundtrack on my music player for how spooky it can sometimes sound.
Capstone also was responsible for Witchaven, a pretty good 3drealms build engine game that had awesome box art to match. Digitized graphics and medieval theme. They made a sequel to it through intercorp but the company pretty much went under soon after that and I found the sequel in the sale bin for 5 bucks.
Good news! Corridor 7 and Operation: Body Count are now up for sale on GOG under the name "retro shooter rampage bundle". Sadly they forgot to include William Shatner's Tekwar 😢
Probably because of the William Shatner mention. Same deal as Mike Tyson's Punch-Out for Nintendo: the sequels are all just Punch-Out whereas the original AFAIK was never re-released.
Holy crap I just noticed that the time machine was hinted at as soon as this video. I mean Civvie admitted he was making the story just to confuse people so who knows if he had it planned out this far but if he did, that was some nice foreshadowing.
i absolutely love the theme of your channel.
A soulsphere talking?
I literally watch you videos every night before going to bed, for some reason they never get old.
A game where the Ithaca 37 sucks!? Clearly the developers never saw Aliens because Micheal Biehn killed a Xenomorph with one shot from his.
Has it been long enough for these videos about retro games to be retro videos? Because I'm going back to the roots to appreciate everything you're doing now
I was playing this earlier and discovered the simple thrill of placing a proximity mine near an enemy then firing a shot and pulling back behind one of the doors you can see through then watching the enemy charge into the mine to reach the door. Cackling as this occurs boosts the effect.
Plus this games has the Ithaca 37 Shotgun favored close quarters weapon of Corporal Hicks, and favored 20th century gun of Kyle Reese so you know its has to be good.
The Minigun fires slow sure but the bullets it fires are almost three times the size of the normal Minigun round so you got to give it a break somewhere. Its basically an infantry weapon firing the same diameter bullets as those used by most mid to late Cold War era US Combat Jets. I used the Infrared mode for checking if a computer terminal is an access key or an alarm but that's about it. I had forgotten about the lasers (Until this afternoon i hadn't played the game in more then twenty-five years.
I remember playing a shareware version of this game when I was younger. It was shit, so I went back to playing Doom.
I have no idea how long do I watch You for but You are the pinnacle of entertaiment.
But in a good way
Awesome thanks civvie

I've watched a couple videos and now this one about corridor 7 but I was kind of disappointed you didn't mention the (in my opinion) the only real greatest thing about Corridor 7, the one thing in this game that doesn't make it 100% trash. I have a time machine, but it can only go into the future a few hours at a time.
It's called a bottle of Jack Daniels. You drink as much as you can and you will find yourself regaining consciousness a few hours into the future.
The fun comes after you come to, you have to try to put together the events of the past, sometimes in a hurry, sort of like the movie Momento.
Corridor 7 was a little gem relatively unknown at the time. Nice to see it get some love.
lol
Inb4 this channel reaches like a billion subs, also it's interesting to learn the cv lore from the start, looking forward to the CVCU featuring classics like capstone and even shittier DOS trash.

Seriously, how many action games plots from the 90s are "scientists were trying to invent teleportation but instead accidentally summoned creatures from another realm"? Doom, Quake and Half-Life off the top of my head, and this game, and I swear there were even more.
There must’ve been a movie that inspired this right? Or is it the sci-fi excuse to insert fantasy stuff?
Civvie's Dungeon is just the Extended Psycheward underneath Ross's Game Dungeon lol
Civvies videos are some of the best shit on youtube right now
I played this as a kid. The com to com multiplayer was amazing for it’s time.
You could be different aliens, even one that turned into a barrel when holding still. I would be a floating eyeball because it was quick.
The dumb parts were that there were 8 levels that you could only go down and not come back up and I had to constantly communicate with my brother so we were on the same level. Also, items and weapons didn’t respawn so after exhausting the goods from the last level you pretty much had to restart. I don’t even think multiplayer had an objective, like you just kept killing each other and respawning until you wanted to quit, not even sure it kept score.
Anyway, nothing special now but for the time it was pretty revolutionary multiplayer gameplay.
I used to love this game back in the day, but then again I did not know any better.
The thing that sticks out in my mind the most about this is the completely random jump scares. Big-ass red skull just randomly appears with a scare chord, no rhyme or reason to it. I guess Witchaven did something similar, but I never played it.
That pain sound effect is a sample from the chestburster scene in Alien. Weird.
Gotta say, I was looking for something to scratch the itch Ross's Game Dungeon leaves me, and these videos seem to hit it perfectly somehow.
For the Civvie 11 lore chroniclers, this is the first mention of the time machine.
