I believe the reason you’re encouraged to not kill anybody out of nowhere at the manor is because since you’re gonna be investigating a murder scene, it’d be helpful to not create more messes that could tamper with the evidence so you can figure things out quicker.
I've played episode 1 of this game for 27 hours and I just bought it last week. I absolutely love it. Also, I keep looking out for the "getting Gianni" message on the loading screen. Always brings a smile on my face.

this is hands down my favorite Newblood game thus far! i love the style, i love the Immersive Sim elements, i love the setting and tone, and i love all the characters! my SINGULAR complaint is that your enemies are exclusively mooks with blunt objects, mooks with sharp objects, and mooks with guns. i know its a 30s crime thriller and your fighting the mob so obviously your enemies are just gonna be vaguely Italian dudes with a bone to pick but even throwing in some dogs to mix it up would be nice. Otherwise this game is a 10/10 for me (so i guess its a solid 9/10?) and i am SO pumped for the rest of the game... whenever that happens...
Once again I am glad that I once came across you channel, Civvie, because thanks to you I discovered games which at its time went under my radar and which I found out interesting - Star Wars: Dark Forces, Rise of the Triads, Dusk... and now Fallen Faces. Yeah, it really does check out. In the second level, you can actually find the corpse of a scuba diver named Steve, who is the owner of the speargun that Civvie took, so it might be a reference to Scuba Steve, the creator of Action Doom 2 (whose in-game avatar uses a speargun)
