I believe the use of the voice-line "Evil must die" 8:07 is from the original Postal (due to it sounding like Rick Hunter's Postal 1 performances) as in it the Postal Dude is instead a man convinced the world around him is evil and his goal is out to purge it. This seems to be forgotten sometimes considering the Postal Redux seems to change this.
When I saw the title "Call of Pahom" and saw the cover, I couldn't believe my eyes, because I knew exactly where it is from and bursted out laughing. I can't imagine the sheer horror you had experienced researching this topic. "The Little Green Elephant" ("Zelyoniy Slonik", "Little" in a sense that elephant itself is a little, not that it is a bit green) is one of the most famous pieces of Russian arthouse film industry notorious for it's dark, graphic and absurdistic, almost Kafkian tone. It is notorious for its almost nonsensical dialogue, pretty weird acting and a lot of adult themes. It's hard to talk about without spoiling anything, because it is more of a performance than an actual film - it needs to be experienced to be understood. The story is also pretty simple: most of the film is just two dudes sitting on the brig talking to eachother about whatever and occasionally someone comes in to check them out. The two main characters, known only as "Little Brother" ("Bratishka"), because that what he was called by his mate, and "Pahom" (from, as it was mentioned in the video, actor's surname Pahomov), because he was never called by his name in the picture. I highly recommend everyone to never touch it if you want to keep a semblance of sanity. I'm beyond the point of no return, but you still have a chance to turn back and never even think about it ever again. I had warned y'all. That being said, you can find a lot of parallels between Little Green Elephant and Postal 2. Both are depicting slow descent into madness (Dude and Paradise itself and Bro from Postal and LGE respectively). Both are bringing up some really heavy themes (to put it lightly - "shit-feeding" is far from being the craziest thing that happens in the film). Both are made to be giant middle fingers to the modern culture and their medias and both are hiding much deeper ideas than it may seem on the first glance. The Little Green Elephant went to become one of the staples of Russian YTP and underground meme culture as a whole, it is still referenced and quoted by a lot of people and undoubtedly made a huge impact on the modern generation. However, I think that this was just a nod to a huge cult following Postal 2 got in Russia (guess why Akella bought the rights to create Postal 3?) alongside the reference to the other piece of absurdist art. Nothing more, nothing less

The hole world of Postal 2 anyways is set in Paradise Lost. The postal office got off easy in Postal 2. There is more skeletons in there closets then what Postal 2 betrayed. ;)
The co-op ending where the multiple dudes helped the main dude escape is just his Schizophrenia, he likely killed a doctor when they went to give him medicine for his illnesses and justifies it by pretending more of him was present and proceeds to escape. This is supported by another redux ending having him fighting tens of himself to keep hold of a Mayan pyramid as the leader of himself, and the ability to add Clowns as filler characters for the Co-op playthrough. Normally the clowns try to kill you in the campaign, but in Co-op you're allied with clown bots instead of players if you do it alone, showing the dude can create any friend or foe with his mind alone. The co-op ending is showing him accepting himself, escaping, and continuing what he does with all of his illnesses. I think the Postal games in general could be endless versions of postal dude in his own mind, endlessly fighting everything, therefor the story can continue until the end of time in any direction he feels like. He is Postal. The Postal. The dude. He is the entire story, we're just not looking at the true him all the time.
So I guess the Postal 2 Dude is actually his clone, but was taken in by a just as hated step father, or likely faked his death by killing the step father and having him put in the Postal 1's grave. Postal Movie is just an in universe actor in a movie based on the events of the first game, made to be lighthearted, which angered Desi(he fights the director in a Krotchy costume in one scene) Postal 3 is dismissed as a coma, but was vivid enough for him to become Postal 2's first mind clone Postal 4 is just everyone coming together, where each voice actor you select to play with can be explained by Postal 1 being his dad/clone base, Postal 3 his own creation, and Postal Movie as his attempts in being a nice guy by copying the movie's nicer protagonist, as well as Brain Damaged's va to symbolise his inner conflict TL;DR Postal Dude has a Split Personality disorder/Schizophrenia that can warp reality itself
The entire Postal series is like the finest vintages of toilet wines and i say that with the absolute love for the series (well, there's one exception that we do not speak of, or two because it's kinda linked into that other one), you have to be a true connoisseur of finer arts to truly appreciate it.
@@MaelHead I think they’re referring to Postal 3 and the Postal Movie. The Postal movie is surprisingly entertaining and matches the Tone of Postal 2. Postal 3 is not talked about for good reason, it is an outlier game. I haven’t played it myself, so okay at your own risk
Expecting this to blow up man, Iceberg videos do really well usually. Hope you don't mind that I'm watching this despite never having played a Postal game before.
Nice video! Here's another secret: In Postal 2 in the basement of the insane asylum building there is a chair. If you start kicking it, it will spin faster and faster and if you started urinating while being on top of the spinning chair, it will draw a pentagram on the floor.
I love this style of videos, and finally having someone talking about the Postal series is truly awesome. Just one side note, i felt like the end of the video was a bit too abrupt, I was really hoping you would sign-off with a goodnight kiss in my forehead, but awesome video regardless
You cover everything you wish to cover in a timely and concise manner. No fuss, no added filler or crazy noises, only those which add to what you're trying to convey. No ads, no fancy five minute long credit sequence or begging me to subscribe. I wish more videos were like yours.
Green Elephant, that weird movie, is/was sort of a meme in certain places, especially eastern europe. Given the amount of clearly slav fans i wouldn't be shocked if it was referenced as a sort of nod to that side of the fanbase.
I don't think the...last one is canon because the one with the girls age says she is deceased but the other one features her giving a comment about the dude dating her (so she's alive in the other one), so there's two completely different stories in the promo images, if anything they probably just chose to reuse to same pictures of the people instead of getting new ones
Not to mention the art for the original Postal shows the Dude as being younger. and with those sorts of comments on the other posters (referencing high school year books, how he was such a good boy, etc) i would be surprised if OG Postal Dude was meant to be only a little older than her. Especially with what style they were going for in those original ads and the game, mimicking school shootings.
The amount of stuff from the postal 2 game that I’ve never noticed is insane. I thought I had explored every inch of it. Glad to see there’s always more to learn.
I used to say lambada instead of lambda when I was a little boy playing Half Life and I still haven't unlearned it yet obviously lmao. But thanks, I added the error to the pinned comment!
21:51 Gary says he'll kick your ass if he finds you selling it on ebay, so if you're bribing Krotchy with it, it probably means he sees the scalper value in it and immediately tries selling it online after getting it from PD.
It should be worth noting that the versions of mods in postal X were different, eternal damnation had a newer version, which despite fixing some bugs also added new ones and simplified some maps and avpc was only version 1.0 which was a map pack, and Polish release was the only one (as far as I'm aware of) which also translated the mods, with a full dub.
You know what no one ever brings up? That timelocked prerelease build of P1 that shows up on mac game archive sites, you'd think someone would have cracked it or mined it for data by now
In the room opposite to the lesbians kissing, there are a bunch of DVD cases on a shelf. Most of them are Postal related but 1 of them is just Daffy Duck, not some parody, the real Daffy Duck.
I wanted to add about the call of pahom in general, the film itself is considered to be fucked up, but in Russia and other CIS countries it is considered an old popular meme. I also wanted to note that in the film, in addition to scenes with ficalia, there are violent (not real) scenes of the murder of the main characters. look at your own risk.
i just started this video, but i just gotta say, so far this is an incredible iceberg. a lot of icebergs i see are mishmashed with the creators opinions or just a loaf of nothing each entry, but this one really just tells you what the entry is about and moves on. amazing work. edit: oh im a huge saw fan the saw bathroom entry had me freaking out. amazing recreation too. might have to grab the mod lol

Postal redux was the first postal game i ever played and only finished it on the first day my dad bought it for me, it was insanely brutal and i loved the fact that all weapons were different types the smg, the shotgun, drum shotgun, a rocket launcher, a flame thrower, a fireball launcher i think? And a magnum revolver (personal favorite)
I find it funny how much tamer games have darker events surrounding them and then one of the most controversial games on the planet ends up with a rather obscure reference to what's seemingly a very disturbing movie. But I find it pretty cool. This was the first time I've seen IRL footage of the devs and howestly it seems like they channel all the negativity in their lives into the games they make. And they basically immortalised one of their pets in-game so that alone makes them legends. And also a very entertaining and well paced video. A new subscriber for you, good sir. :D
Fun fact:postal 1 has holiday events or atleast a christmas one how do i know? I played postal 1 during christmas season and there was this annoying ass santa enemy that was throwing molotovs i belive and he was shouting "RUDOLPH!"non stop
It's worth noting that this only happens on Christmas in the Steam/GOG version of POSTAL 1. What you're describing is the "Santa Patch" released in December 1997, it was added to the modern versions of the game and activates if your PC clock is set to around Christmas. There's also a joke "Kid Mode" that's as far as I know supposed to activate on April Fools, but I never got it to work myself.
Jennie Peters stuck out to me the most in this. The ambiguity of the reality if the Dude was actually dating her or if it was just a figment of his imagination is one thing. But in one instance, she is a survivor presumably after the events of the game, while in the other she was one of the victims. It makes me think that he was infatuated with her, but ended up killing her anyway. It adds another disturbing layer to the otherwise zany marching band level.
Great video. Every section is only as long as it needs to be; no unnecessary padding. Cathartic to see, when so many youtubers that make these videos are constantly try, and fail, to be funny at any chance, or over-explain.
About the Falling container: You don't need anything to go over the fence, just jump and crouching is enough, it takes a few tries but isn't hard, also you can slow time and get pass the container and go out of the bounds very easily... Water physics: any liquid makes water behave weirdly, fuel does it too...
One thing that should have been on the iceberg is the POSTAL: Special Delivery fan made novel. It was a digital amazon only novel but was made unavailable for sell in 2018 due to the rise / amount of American school shootings at the time (what I believe to be the reason). To this day it's not available to buy but the listing is still there I believe. From what I read and remember, it's the dude as a edgy high-school student. That short detail alone makes it seem like a it's bad it's good type of novel. There were supposed to be multiple novel in the series but only Vol. 1 came out. P.S - After completing all of Friday's tasks, you can actually pee and take gonorrhea damage, but the cure gonorrhea errand doesn't activate. So you can pee after finishing everything else.

30:20 As far as I know it's not that they wouldn't cross the line with hurting children, but they removed it because hurting children is no longer as shocking thanks to the school shooting epidemic in America. Which is kinda more shocking when you think about it.

Postal Movie is just an in universe actor in a movie based on the events of the first game, made to be lighthearted, which angered Desi(he fights the director in a Krotchy costume in one scene)
Postal 3 is dismissed as a coma, but was vivid enough for him to become Postal 2's first mind clone
Postal 4 is just everyone coming together, where each voice actor you select to play with can be explained by Postal 1 being his dad/clone base, Postal 3 his own creation, and Postal Movie as his attempts in being a nice guy by copying the movie's nicer protagonist, as well as Brain Damaged's va to symbolise his inner conflict
TL;DR Postal Dude has a Split Personality disorder/Schizophrenia that can warp reality itself
The entire Postal series is like the finest vintages of toilet wines and i say that with the absolute love for the series (well, there's one exception that we do not speak of, or two because it's kinda linked into that other one), you have to be a true connoisseur of finer arts to truly appreciate it.
Very well put.
I low-key want to know about the thing y'all "don't speak of" is it that bad??
@@MaelHead it's the worst thing ever, worse than the mad cow disease.
@@thebadwolf3088 still kinda wanna know, the whole series itself is a flesh meat show.
Wut in teh fack lol ima search a vid of this hahaa
It’s kinda crazy how big this game has gotten in recent years. Thanks Civvie!
I love this style of videos, and finally having someone talking about the Postal series is truly awesome.
Just one side note, i felt like the end of the video was a bit too abrupt, I was really hoping you would sign-off with a goodnight kiss in my forehead, but awesome video regardless
There was supposed to be a thank you for watching at the end but it got cut off when it rendered.
Goodnight @gilo1605. Kisses xx
You cover everything you wish to cover in a timely and concise manner. No fuss, no added filler or crazy noises, only those which add to what you're trying to convey. No ads, no fancy five minute long credit sequence or begging me to subscribe. I wish more videos were like yours.
Thanks, that’s much appreciated.
Green Elephant, that weird movie, is/was sort of a meme in certain places, especially eastern europe. Given the amount of clearly slav fans i wouldn't be shocked if it was referenced as a sort of nod to that side of the fanbase.
considering that postal 2 (or the franchise) is popular in russia then it makes sense to be featured in postal 2
If no one is gonna say it, I will.
Postal dude is cute and I would gladly sign his petition.
@@ZebraOnYourNose I've seen a few videos where people comment that "Why is he so hot I hate this!" Postal dude rizzed people without even trying 😂.
Love these videos Buff. Well put together, you can tell that lots of time has gone into making this and it's hugely appreciated. Top tier content.
The amount of stuff from the postal 2 game that I’ve never noticed is insane. I thought I had explored every inch of it. Glad to see there’s always more to learn.
03:34 "lambada" 💀
I used to say lambada instead of lambda when I was a little boy playing Half Life and I still haven't unlearned it yet obviously lmao.
But thanks, I added the error to the pinned comment!
I never saw those promotional posters for Postal 1. They're really cool, apart from the whole "Postal Dude was stalking a 17 year old girl" part.
Stop Kinkshaming and spreading LGBTQI+ phobic propaganda
lol
but shooting 17 yo girls heads off is fine 🤓
"im really disappointed in my rolemodel postaldude"
getoudahere 😎
21:51 Gary says he'll kick your ass if he finds you selling it on ebay, so if you're bribing Krotchy with it, it probably means he sees the scalper value in it and immediately tries selling it online after getting it from PD.
PD's wife literally says this stuff is getting pricy after death of author. So Krotchy just making his investment solid.
The Postal movie was, and still is, 100% awesome.
DrachenLord😂😂😂
watched it with some friends for the first time months ago and it was fucking great
Postal is awesome series, I'm glad someone made and Iceberg for it and then you covered it.
fr
It should be worth noting that the
versions of mods in postal X were different, eternal damnation had a newer version, which despite fixing some bugs also added new ones and simplified some maps and avpc was only version 1.0 which was a map pack, and Polish release was the only one (as far as I'm aware of) which also translated the mods, with a full dub.
I wanted to add about the call of pahom
in general, the film itself is considered to be fucked up, but in Russia and other CIS countries it is considered an old popular meme. I also wanted to note that in the film, in addition to scenes with ficalia, there are violent (not real) scenes of the murder of the main characters. look at your own risk.
That's actually a very good video that doesn't just show Easter eggs that everyone knows but actually lore connected facts, i loved the video
i just started this video, but i just gotta say, so far this is an incredible iceberg. a lot of icebergs i see are mishmashed with the creators opinions or just a loaf of nothing each entry, but this one really just tells you what the entry is about and moves on. amazing work.
edit: oh im a huge saw fan the saw bathroom entry had me freaking out. amazing recreation too. might have to grab the mod lol
That's what the game studio Running with Scissors does: if a person's psychology breaks down, if he gets upset and listens to the devil, that's what happens. Running with Scissors showed the right thing. They made a game that turned it into real violence, and they told the world how similar events happened in real life. some good, some bitter and sour cruelty...
3:08 ah yes, jakita and his critically acclaimed title, overkill, which surpassed the title "ultrakill" by hakita in the top spot on steam's game of the year list by two votes.
3:09 "Overkill" is wild
the iceberg that no one asked for but everyone needed
“Lambada symbol from Half-Life” - it’s pronounced “Lam-da” (spelled Lambda)
Like a lamb (baby sheep) and -da
I can already imagine Gordon Freeman, Kleiner, Alyx and Barney doing the lambada dance xDDD
@@Botul1 oh i think i know what youre talking about (the kid mode i mean) there are pics of it in the files
Dude, thanks for all the effort. I don't know how I got here but I appreciate it. Postal 2 is a classic.
I love all the videos you do. And i dont regret that I subbed to your patreon a couple of days ago
This is the video that i've been looking for, thanks man!
You forgot to mention Zack Ward in the iceberg chart since he's in the movie and appears in Paradise lost also.
Absolutely amazing video man. Thanks for this
YES, finally someone actually made an iceberg into a video
Jennie Peters stuck out to me the most in this. The ambiguity of the reality if the Dude was actually dating her or if it was just a figment of his imagination is one thing. But in one instance, she is a survivor presumably after the events of the game, while in the other she was one of the victims. It makes me think that he was infatuated with her, but ended up killing her anyway. It adds another disturbing layer to the otherwise zany marching band level.
been waiting for someone to do a postal iceberg loved the video 😁
everybody talks about the gnome, but no one talks about the gonome
He’s gonot a gonoblin
Just as I finish the Postal 1 video, this banger drops.
Great video. Every section is only as long as it needs to be; no unnecessary padding. Cathartic to see, when so many youtubers that make these videos are constantly try, and fail, to be funny at any chance, or over-explain.
Thank you, boss
This series is one of my favorites, Postal 2 is the greatest simulation of Arizona I've ever seen
Did you just call Ultrakill "Overkill"
"Come forth, Child of Man… and DIE." (Sisyphus Prime)
"This can't be good for me but I feel great!"
11:15 total missed opportunity to call it "Music to go Postal Two"
I'd love to learn more about the postal lawsuit
I was looking for postal iceberg videos a while ago and the only results were made in spanish.
Im so happy that there is finally an english video on the subject.
This video was awesome, get to see all the good bits without having to play it!! I reckon duke nukem series needs one of these kinds of references/easteregg vids :D I also like the idea of the lawsuit video because I'm a psycho.
I appreciate some of what uve said surprisingly. He sounded more down to earth than I expected. He talked about postal movie similar to how M. Night wrote lady in the water
This makes me want to play every postal game now
I love this video. I am a person who really loves the small details and stories of the features and objects in old games such as postal 2. I am greatful that some of these silly fun facts wont be lost in time because of your video. I wish to see more stuff like this and im looking forward on the postal lawsuit video if its ever going to come.
This can't be good for me but I feel great watching this video
I've had the postal games sitting in my steam account unplayed for many years. This video has told me it's time to try them out! Great video dude, you earned a sub!
3:09
Aww man, you spelled Ultrakills name wrong… Overkill still suits the game though.
After searching for this 100 times and always coming across that Spanish Postal iceberg video only, it finally happened, someone finally did it.
Finally, a postal iceberg
I love to revisit this on long walks during my errands, very well done
One of my favorite game franchises
I actually love how the video ends so abruptly. Gigachad move
"Library Taliban" sound's like "Tally, ban."
Btw I thought the terrorist group people were Osama bin Ladeen's secret twins.
tally hall
The RWS team are all so fucking cool. I’m glad they’ve got a strong community behind them.
I'm surprised That You Dont Talk In The Demon Section Of The Iceberg That Even The Demon Appears Physically In The Pacifist Ending Of Postal 4 Even They Are So Many Reference To Postal 1,Appears The Sounds Of Postal 1,The Elementary School/The End Loading Screen And Even The Stranger Have The Same Apparence Of The Demon Originally With The Helmet,Its Weird That Nobody Talks About The Ending But Is So Epic That RWS Go Back With That Horror See In Postal 1
This cocaine makes me feel like i'm on this comment
13:07 wait, that's were the Trollge Incident voice comes from
heck yes we want a video about the lawsuit
I HAD BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
If I was a ball, I would be round
Respect to you for censoring the rickroll
3:09 overkill?
3:09 ah yes my favorite game overkill
This is not really a iceberg, it's just a compilation of regular easter eggs and standard content. No theories.
It's facts arranged from most know to least known
the only iceberg video that matters
bro forgot to end his video
22:33 Imagine that in all videos and other media, when 2011 is touched upon in the history of the franchise, then ignoring Postal 3 and other jokes about it are replaced by... here is an insert in honor of the memory of the real Champ. I'm sure it definitely caused emotions.
lambarda symbol from halflife
"I'm not even armed, eh."
30:20 As far as I know it's not that they wouldn't cross the line with hurting children, but they removed it because hurting children is no longer as shocking thanks to the school shooting epidemic in America. Which is kinda more shocking when you think about it.
RIP Champ
With that kind of voice i expected this to be a famous channel, you got potencial bro, keep it up
Much appreciated.
@@ABuffWizard Have to agree. I know if I said your accent added some sophistication to the narration, that would be subjective depending what part of the world you are in. But I do find your narritive style very good.
That means the world to me.
Thank you, Mr Hunter.
@@ABuffWizard Your audio chain is perfect. Love to know what mic you are using?
It’s just the RODE USB condenser mic.
I record it in Audacity and apply a compressor, limiter, EQ for bass & treble and then normalization.
Super cheap/simple setup, glad it gets the stamp of approval.
the video is super good, ive played a lot of postal 2 but didnt know many of the things!
The mini game of the arcade can be offensive for some people but i laughed when I found out what it was about
A POSTAL iceburg? This can't be good for me, but I feel GREAT!
Is it me, or this guy almost sound like the postal dude?
personally i love the idea that postal is secretly super dark, i understand postal 2 was made and intended to be a silly game but i like to think the themes of 1 are hidden within and have the headcannon that postal 2 and 4 are just a look at a poor mans broken mental condition and his view on the awful life he lives
Postal is the funniest game ever and was WAY ahead of his time it should be up there with filthy frank
The serious tone of this video is so funny
