THANK YOU FOR POSTING THESE AWESOME VIDS!!! Huge Sco fan from early 90s on the East Coast, here. Super impressed with the sound quality, and VERY thankful to hear him almost 30 years later from the first time I saw him (Newport Jazz Fest, RI 1993-it's even on You Tube!).
Sounds like you and I are about the same vintage :). It's great that he's still around and doing fresh things 30 plus years later! Going all the way back to the 80s with Miles or even before that with groups like Cobham's band, Sco is really a virtuoso with a truly unique sound / tone. Also really appreciate the kind words around the sound quality - we put a lot of effort into keeping things as hi-res as possible so they can be enjoyed by current and future generations. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you so much for the upload..I ve seen this concert 24 7 2022 in Amsterdam. I was very early and saw Sco loitering in front of the jazz club. I spoke to him a bit , saying I ve been going to his concerts since the 90´s and how much I love his music. I was a bit starstruck , but he seemed appreciative of my comments.. He keeps doing new things, always sounds fresh, always has a killer band with him..he is just a force of nature musically , just a very special guy with a special sound. It was a small venue and I was lucky to sit in front and be able to hear his guitar tone from direct from his amplifier instead of the PA, such a juicy tone ...rich in intonation and nuance..he played really inspired, man, he never ceases to impress me even after +30years of listening to him at live venues...again, many thanks for sharing this with us and lets hope we can enjoy his music for many years to come.
This one isn't Wichita Lineman, but I do have a performance of Wichita Lineman I will be uploading shortly. This one is The Creator Has A Master Plan, by Pharaoh Sanders. Thanks for watching!
@@rchommel Thanks for the reply - certainly possible I have got this wrong, but have just double checked and he announces this as The Creator... after playing it on at least one of the nights. Perhaps you'll know the name of the tune I currently have labeled as Wichita Lineman and I can edit the titles as appropriate. Thanks again for the feedback.
Definitely a boot legged recording, as it doesn't show the piano player and Dave Holland on the bass is barely seen. No professional videographer would ever shoot a video like this.
I saw scofield play a bit of _the creator has a masterplan_ in london this january, it was a moving surprise
One of my faves from this tour!
A beautiful medley: Part 1: Wichtita lineman, Part 2: The creator has a master plan. What a combination!
Wichita lineman is a great song

the great Scofield
Love this
Amen !
The Lineman is resurrected as an introspective jazzer - has someone woken Jimmy Webb to tell him? RIP Glen Campbell he would have loved this!
Check out Ben Monder playing this as well. Another great version of Wichita Lineman.
Drummer is killing it.
the song is called Wichita Lineman, written by Jimmy Webb. Sco doe his usual amazing rendition of it here. Thanks for posting ~!~

I beg to differ... you can hear the melody of wichita lineman clearly at around the 16 second mark.

@@rchommel For reference, I definitely hear these riffs throughout the majority of this song: ruclips.net/video/QZ6lB7FKxi8/видео.html
I've played this song myself for years so i can guarantee it's Wichita Lineman . Hope this helps, Cheers
brilliant
The Lineman is right smack in the middle of Jon Cowherd's wheelhouse.
great. thx
This guy inspired my music
The Lineman awakes as a new jazz infused experiential watchman of expression. Have you told Glen Campbell (rip) and Jimmy Web?
Jooosshh
He even manages to do some yodelling on the guitar
