My Jeep Patriot is a BEAST in the snow. Survived a Canadian winter without getting stuck once. Hardly spun, and never had to shovel it out. Just drove through it
Nice to see a Jeep Wrangler owner back a Jeep Patriot. In my opinion, all Jeep models are legit Jeeps. Besides the Renegade. It's sporty, but it's more of a Fiat than a Jeep. I think they should have just revived either the Liberty, or Commander.
I've got a 2012 Patriot Limited been driving in Chicago all winter from the southside to the northside everyday, haven't got stuck once or even needed a shovel. I hope they keep making them after 2014!!!
I got my 15 front wheel drive and I just drift with this thing in the snow without getting stuck! When up a hill speeding and had no trouble. Front wheel drives are the best of going on a snow hill because the weight is all in the front
agreed, he didn't do it so bad.....some of my neighbors took umbrellas and metal shovels to their cars to remove the snow this past winter....I cringed at their poor cars.
Matt Brokenshire A few years ago I was in Florida during the Christmas season and it just didn't feel right without the snow. I would miss the snow too.
Chrysler just put a new six speed auto in to replace the CVT in the 2014 models. Also those Patriots are damn strong. You heard how it was flooding in Michigan due to heavy downpour? A family member drove their 2014 with the 6 speed in water up to the middle of the grille and got out fine.
I've driven through some serious crap with the FWD version. No problems yet. I'd like to install really bright backing lights. I'm not sure if it's the tinted windows or my old age...Can't see as well as I'd like backing up at night.
nageorgiou2 I drove several times in Colorado trials on stone roads very bumpy and sharp jeep drove good but with new transmission its probably much better ride.
I haven't even driven 3000 miles yet. Been through some deep water and some Illinois pot/sink holes...I have the FWD version with the automatic transmission... So far, no problems.
+Frank Banos because we are not idiots and we wash with an under carriage wash once a week. My car got more destroyed when I lived in Orlando FL than it ever has in Syracuse NY. No joke. Salt? There is protection from that. Its called washing your car. Florida sun? NOTHING can protect your car from that. It destroys paint jobs!
Nick Giacobbe mine too. I don’t get what the difference is between my Jeep and others that have no problems. I’ve asked and asked and no solution. I have 4WD and blizzaks!

BETTER RENAME THIS VIDEO TO "SHOWELLING SNOW"
Patriots eat these kinds of snowy icy nasty road conditions for breakfast, very confidence inspiring in these conditions, very fun ride and comfy too.
You are 100 % right!

My 2009 2.4 AWD 5-speed has been through snow, ice, rain, and all at once, never been stuck, or any other problem.
I knew this was Chicago. By the look of the snow.
tomorrow next 12'' haha!
using the shovel on a car itself is a no-no, you can scratch the paint really bad
you right :(

Oh I remember that cold brutal day in the Chicago area.
This will be my first winter away from the city, weird to say that I'll miss the snow lol

All i want to know is....who the hell diggs out a 4x4 truck. WHY.....just clear the tailpipe and let it heat up and drive the hell off. 😲
Which version of the Patriot? FWD or 4WD? I live 30 miles North of Chicago. Just purchased the FWD version.
It's 4x4 2.4 CVT 2 ( It's a good car but transmission just sucks)

LEARN HOW TO HOLD THE CAMERA STEADY.
First 5 minutes of this video was pointless and stupid. Should have edited it out.
How about no music so we can hear the engine start after snow buried it, don't waste time digging, a Jeep should plow right out (mine did).
we have a jeep patriot and it is terrible absolutely terrible in bad weather.
Nick Giacobbe mine too. I don’t get what the difference is between my Jeep and others that have no problems. I’ve asked and asked and no solution. I have 4WD and blizzaks!
GET SOME TIRES WHAT'S WITH ALL THE SPINNING???
