Excel actually has a long history of coding visual basic macros, they were largely used all over until better software came around and more people learned real coding languages.

@@CowboyQuan it's definitely bannable even if you can prove you are disabled. That being said if you aren't messing with the economy you will last a very long time before you catch the ban
@@__Brandon__ that's simply not true, if you do any popular method you will be banned in less than a hour. If anything, I think the opposite is true, you will be banned immediately unless you're part of known bot farm.

Heya - I'm the one who submitted the tipoff of the botting streamer. He's been changing his scripts a bit - he's fixed the cannon breaking it, but now it's breakable with a combination of box traps and bird snares.
Came across the guy while looking for newer players to help on Twitch - imagine my surprise when the guy opens up an excel sheet and proceeds to start botting!
Appreciate your help with breaking the bot - it was great fun!
Edit: He's updated his VBA script to include a brand new action! He can now bot prayer training! By burying big bones at Varrock West bank, because he still hasn't figured out the GE has a bank.

@@anonymouse7074 I very much doubt it - his scripts are incredibly basic at best, something a high schooler could probably whip up. He's literally just using VBA on Excel to have his mouse click at specific points on his screen.

@@Tactics_Actual he's not mouse recording. You can see the excel spread sheet he's using. Basically gives the screen coordinates and tells the mouse which co-ords to click at. It will click very precise every time for him so he can't rotate the screen thats why it's so basic.

I have zero experience in bot scripting, but that's insane how something as rudimentary as Excel & VBA can be used to bot on RS
VBA is a hell of a lot more powerful than people realise. I once wrote a keylogger script on there while I was at work which bypassed all network security checks. Sent it to a colleague to test and the keystrokes were being written to my database.
So much potential for corporate theft especially in finance departments where Excel is abused.

He's just AHKing with extra steps. I bottled to 60 mining f2p iron ore with a script that took me 15 mins to make. Never caught.

Before opt-in/out pvp on Rs3 there was revenant bots with 200m xp in all melee stats that would never get banned. Theyll probably be back before long lol. One of my friends once reached out about it and he got a jmod reply denying the existence of them lol. But they were set to teleport if a skull entered revenants or your mouse hovered over them/near them. But if you caught them banking you could tb them and smite them for dharok helms sometimes as they would come from lodestone.
that's because pug and jagex behind most of them. making millions selling gold

@@goatgamingyt2964 I think there is some truth to this. Not that puggers is behind bots but I think that jagex actually likes having some bots in the game. Members bots still have to pay for membership which means that someone paid for those bonds, even if they were acquired through botted money.
I doubt jagex really wants to get rid of them unless they lose enough legitimate players over them.

Honestly the bots ruining the economy is why, when I do play osrs. I just play Ironman. 20 years ago I played a lot more. These days I hop on, mess around for an hour or two and log out for weeks.

I didn't even realize that there were bot scripts that run through excel.
Jagex has to inflate the concurrent player numbers somehow, so they just stop banning dumb bots, the game nowadays has way less players than it had a couple months ago

I recently came back to osrs and I had this dumb idea that id make some starting cash by chopping some yew logs... yeah I didnt realize bots had absolutely potato'd the market for basic resources.

I remember using a mouse recorder to mine iron and was so confused when it kept messing up. Runescape actually moves a little bit. If you sit and watch it you will see the map move a little fraction. This was implemented in runescape classic as one of the first anti bot measures.
They actually got rid of this feature a few years back.

Not got much details but when i was making tele tabs i noticed bots going to the guy who unotes bank notes ie soft clay walk to house portal and then back to the guy and repeat. Far too quick to be making full invents of tele tabs - maybe check it out. next time i get a world i'll confirm for you

hey mate just wondering if you could look into brutal black dragon bots ive been doing them for ages and i constantly see people that are killing them with almost 1 all stats except for what it takes to kill brutal black dragons some of these bots have more than 15m xp in range xp thats how long they have been going thanks in advance :)
