The bots are incredibly easy to abuse. I got a rune pouch in two hours from scratch from just decimating the bots. The method is to wear your best magic defence gear, wear a staff and defender praying piety and either protect from range of melee, and one tick to whip and hit them off prayer every time. Switch between pray melee and range every 4 ticks and they can’t ever attack you correctly while you continuously hit them off prayer.

Except you don’t need to swap pray just stay on melee and just click the crossbow then right back to whip. Works wonders
I just kept doing the mime emotes and they would start doing the laugh emote and then I would kill them.

there are ones with AI that predict that shit and make u look like a clown sitting there with ur 1 style while they 1 tick fakie 3 different styles
I have found 2 pretty consistent ways of killing the advanced lms bots:
1: Freeze the bot and keep distance, camp range pray while 1 ticking your crossbow to hit them. Have mage tank on. This will make you hit them off pray on robes every time.
2: Freeze the bot, pray mage and stay out of range distance. Have your robes and dds out and blood barrage them (1 tick mage with staff if you`re good). When they are about to get unfrozen, take on your tank gear, run back a few tiles, freeze it and repeat.
In my experience, method 1 is faster while method 2 is more consistent.

It took me like around 3 hours to get a 50-60% win rate against the new bots and I used to lms every day.
Better way that gets a kill every time. Pray melee, 1 tick from cbow to whip. You'll hit the bot off pray with the whip every hit.

12:30, you are right in the sense that they are collecting gear and usernames, but not for luring, its for targeting accounts to attempt to social engineer sensitive data/ information to be able to gain access to them.
How would someone use bots collecting garbage to data mine?
Thanks for a great year pugger, I only found you this year but I've watched years of content I missed and you're still killing it.
I know a friend who got scouted by one of these bots at the GE one time. He was borrowing someone else's TBow and had it equipped when he entered the GE. Within 24 hours there was a hack attempt on his account. I wouldn't be surprised if that is what the last set of bots in this video are doing.
This reminds me of my friend demmonic. He was always so advanced in studying the anti ban system, years ago, he made bills weekly using plank making using his own bot. Even had IRC. Even then 42069 was always a joke we had.
2025 and it's just 8 players left and 53.057 bots. These 8 players still buy 50bil of rwt gp every day.
Every day? That's gonna be like 3, maybe even 4 dollars or gold per day!

With the inflation from the Raids 4 bot this comes out to 4 Tunas or a shark a day being bought.
The last bot at chambers is definitely a luring scout.
I had someone from chambers attempt to lure me and after they had failed they had the same bots logging in on the same tile says “x account is a known lurer. They use scams and glitches to get your items”
a little bit of information on the last clip with the bots at cox and ge. yes it is a scouting bot but also a witch hunting bot. once my friend was getting lured and he msged me on discord telling me as it was happenin and we managed to steal an arcane shield from them. after that everytime my friend would be in the same world as the bots. the bots would say things like "xxxx is a known lurer/ scammer avoid playing with him" something along those lines and the lurer kept dming him to give back the arcane lol. eventually it stopped after 1 week or so after we stopped seeing them afk at cox.. those bots are collecting all the info available it seems to try to lure rich players
I dont play RS anymore but your videos are nostalgic and carries some form of inherent innocence. However the mysteries and busting up RWT and things is also very fun to watch. Bots are evolving for sure!

@@dethyl People have botted max capes.. and I'm sure you can find a zulrah bot with 10k+ kills in under 5 mins. Meanwhile reddit cant even get past dragon slayer and are complaining the game is too grindy at 600 total level but you're going to tell me a total level requirement is going to stop botting in runescape?
It's lazy and a spit in the face on the players by Jagex. The solution is reinvesting and improving their detection instead of putting up half-assed road blocks for the sake of time and difficulty. If people are getting run over by cars when crossing the street the solution isn't making the road narrower so the pedestrian needs to cover less distance, but improving the infrastructure, putting traffic lights up, signs, building a bridge or tunnel for crossing.
But that wouldn't be a "good" business decision, because that costs money, a lot of money. While simultaneously diverting focus from pumping out "content" to something the average player probably wouldn't notice unless they took a step back. We're in the age where people aren't driving cars but cars are driving people and you're going to tell me 500 total level is going to "buy the detection system more time" so bots get banned now.... LOL. I wish I was as naïve as you then, world would seem like such a better place.
You can’t help but admire how good the program works though.
There's a lot of thieving bots in Priffindas right now, most with well over 99 thieving just outside the house portal.
That didn't take long to return.
Stay in tank pray melee, wield cbow and every 5 ticks attack with whip. They’ll switch to robes and you can smack the fuck out of the bots. If you need help with ticks turn on metronome and count the ticks and whip on the 5th tick.
It works for the simple bots but not the ones which run around and 1 tick 4 ways ever tick - best way I've found is to barrage them with dagger equip then do what you say (if you can 1 tick barrage then that's much better)
I'd honestly love to know how many bots there are at any given moment vs real players....like it almost seems like jagex wouldn't want to get rid of all their bots bc then they'd lose 3/4 of their active player count
I suspect it's more like10-20% bots, 10-5%rwt/gold farmers and 20% alt scapers
They keep bots and false ban legitimate players, happens all the time.

Hey im Javier Nico from the xmas bots. After you left i managed to catch the same bot farm again, with new bots, and got them all killed with the commands. Managed to grab over 4m on loot
Pastley, the bot owner, told me he was doing it mostly for fun and testing the bots. Sadly thanks to me, he updated the bot farm to filter what player the bots listen to, since when i got them killed, the filter didnt worked. I have a few screenshots of me talking to him

In lms - If you freeze and stand diagonal to the bot, pray range it will try to melle you.
I think the bots at COX are checking your gear like you said to take a roster of what people have and how much they have. i did a lot of cox then stopped and about a week later someone randomly tried luring me saying they knew i had x,y, and z. and why i wasn't bringing that stuff.
hasnt happened to me yet but maybe cause when i see the bots i shitpost them xD but ive run into a few dozen now
could also be just shooting in the dark and assuming you have these big items, similar to the email scam where they email people and say "we have videos of you doing embarrassing stuff on your webcam, better send us money or else" when there was never a video to begin with, just a very good chance you were doing embarrassing stuff

There are already botting MMOs out there. Adventure Land for example only runs on scripts for your characters

We already had MoparScape where you could just give yourself all 99s and items using chat commands.
It's common knowledge for most pkers but if you just camp your mage staff in your tank gear, you can swap to cbow on the right tick and just bolt rag them the whole time, they will try swapping range but its too late, you can also fake through your weapons to drop a spec on them the same way, show ur staff, swap to cbow, then on the right tick use ur spec. they can't really deal with it too much. you can also nearly staff bash them to their death. I've had people take control of the account when im doing it they always type like "jajaja" and stuff. One minute it will be fighting like a bot and trying to pray flick, the next minute its acting human trying to pk properly.
I think the 'drop parties' are a money laundering trick.
If Jagex can't just chase down whoever ends up with the event loot, it makes it a lot harder to track down the accounts that the bot owner is profiting off of.

It's used to preserve the bots, not the accounts selling the gold. Gold still needs to be amassed into large amounts whenever it's being transferred to seller accounts or to buyers at the bottom line; the bottom line will always end up getting banned after it triggers red flags due to irregular trading i.e. transferring to mules, and/or selling the gold to buyers.
As a dedicated ironman player, it's really disheartening to know that other ironman feel the need to bot anything. What's the point of choosing that game mode if you cheat?

If you put "keep me safe" on Privacy and safety on discord you don't get unwanted messages from anyone you don't know. So you don't end up getting potentially lured. As long you don't accept the friend request from any random lurers.

The level of scamming that happens in this game is fascinating. The people that code and run these bots are clearly very computer literate and intelligent. I'm guessing they do this as a side hustle, maybe full time. Either way it's insane.
You guys, despreate times ask for despreate measures. There are people on this planet that live in poverty and are despreate to pay rent. For them, this thing of making bots to rwt is how they survive while others play this game and pay for it even. Imagine your existence depended on scamming people who pay for an online game in their free time. Most people would do it, regular people who just do it as a hobby do it even, it's not hard to figure out why people scam. For them the concept of morals is a privilege.
hey sir pugger, there's a bot farm running for over a month now at the pyrefriends in the rev caves, bald bot guys with whips and obby shields, almost every world. they teleport out when they see you
so thats why i got absolutely finessed. i knew theres bots but god damn they are next lvl.

4:20 back in osbuddy days I ran one bot account in the mining guild for weeks with only minutes-long breaks and that account still is not banned. I log into it every once in a while to make sure. This was using a public free script.
The other day I figured out how to defeat the bots. Get close to them pray melee and piety then click crossbow then immediately switch back to whip over and over. It confuses the bots allowing you to wap them with the whip.
Bots using gambling bots still happens today. I saw it earlier this morning in a members world.
ive been doing cox the past couple of weeks and can confirm that i got pmed by a random guy asking if i want free money after seeing these scouting bots

lmao never. If jagex really wanted the bots gone, it would take a month and 2 mods. The bots are never going anywhere, you play on a java client (biggest reason that osrs is 50% bots) and bot owners are keeping your server alive. If jagex nukes the bots like they did in 2011, they'd lose most of the profit they make.

I've accepted that bots simply rule over OSRS.
At this point it's just fascinating to see all the different shit people have them do.
They make up a sizeable portion of Jagex's revenue, and Jagex knows that people will stop playing if they can't buy gold; the amount of gold that bots make also drives down the prices of everything in game. They're a necessary evil to both players, and Jagex. It just sucks that the people that make money off of it are scumbags.
@@KC-bg1th Bots don't actually generate revenue for Jagex. A F2P bot can earn a bond in a day, and botters are a net loss for Jagex thanks to credit card shenanigans like chargebacks and fraud.
Glad to see the start of online botting still going strong. Was fun when all I had to worry about was someone cutting trees on RS. Now I gotta sift through every online platform and try and figure out who’s a government bot for hire and who’s not. Good old days.

This LMS bot problem made me unsub. Jagex has to be profiting off it. The absence of the option to put "botting" as the reason for unsubbing is even more suspicious. Considering how it's instanced, it should be even easier to stop these bots
Would be interesting to know how they code these bots, which coding language do they use and what problems did they encounter during the coding
A majority of the bots will be coded through public bot clients with public documentation. And they all use Java.

plot twist, in all of sir puggers bot videos, he's actually the bot creator.
I believe the scout bots at cox are scouting for trade lures/scams. They used to log in and try to get you to trade an item of value to someone else for a 'cash prize' they used to try it to me on an ironman, but would instantly log when I called them out. They now seem to log in and check to see if the person's a normal account or iron first before trying anything. But I witnessed someone get scammed for a tbow by one a couple months ago
@Gaming Legend69 basically yeah, they gave it to one of their own friends and the scammer used their second account to underlog the owner of the tbow with a very similar name and traded the guys friend.. The friend didn't suspect anything and traded the tbow over assuming it was the guy. No doubt there's multiple other scams they do there that have worked, but this is one I've seen first hand.
Idk if this is known… but there is a ton of bots filling jugs of water in fally on ftp worlds.

I sent you a tip about the infernal eels, I actually had a conversation with the bot owner a few months back. He said he runs about 9 accounts which if I remember correctly gets him about 60m a month per acc 😳

Hey Puger, I noticed there were farms of bots on top of the dueling arena, right in the north eastern corner, no idea what they are up to but I hopped through 5 worlds and found 3-10 bots in 3 of the worlds.
Maybe transferring gold? They were usually low levels around 4-20. No idea what they could be doing though.

YOOOO I was cutting yews in Seers when I noticed the price of garlic spiked to 2k ea. I had no idea why, but I world hopped picking it all up to sell. I was a vampires biggest nightmare for about a day lol.

While doing cows in a free to play world for leather working I notice that there is occasionally a level 3 default guy running north, suddenly stop, wait about 30 seconds and then continue running (possibly to Varrock). Is this something to be worried about?
I have since switched to pottery at the crating guild so I don't know if this is still happening.
probably just a bot being maybe doing a quest or going somewhere to do bot things but someones gotta follow the bot next time to see where it goes and what they are doing exactly so we can determine if its having a bad effect upon the game and if its a big enough problem to get it stopped

@@maltardraco9555 I found a massive bot farm doing the Christmas event too. It wasn't the 42069 bots either on 301. I hopped multiple worlds and found hundreds of default spawn character bots on each world with a name/word/number username combo running the Christmas event. I followed a handful and they would finish up disappear and my character would run to the fally garden fence, sit there about 2 minutes and then the bot would reappear in the garden, walk out and go into a shop in fally square and then disappear again. Never returned, my character never moved. Not sure where they went. I'll bet there's 10s of thousands of event uniques in play right now due to these couple farms.

@SirPugger I had a long conversation with Mod Ash on Twitter, and he was completely oblivious to how devastating these bots actually are to the LMS minigame. He has had discussions with the Rule Enforcement team, and hopefully are going to provide changes / moderation so this does not happen. It would be a shame if they kept letting this happen to the minigame. The last thing players need is more PvP content being removed...
