Megadeth On Megadeth
This my favourite live version of she wolf.
This is my favourite version of she wolf period
This is the perfect version of She Wolf period.
She wolf periods are perfect.
to me this far exceeds the Studio version. It pumps me up every time i see/ hear this right here!
the other thing i love is when Al Pitrelli acknowledges someone in the Audience with the "Eh, How Ya Doin'? "
Nod
Jimmy Degrasso is such an incredible drummer! Not just his drum solo, but even the way he takes this song and makes it his own, incorporating a lot more double kick and just over all energy into the song!
They need to do more harmonized solos like this song!
Best lineup after Rust in Peace era. Pitrelli and DeGrasso made them sound tight as hell live.
You are right.
Never can get over this solo
Love the bass. The solos are great but they're being accentuated by great some with bass work by Dave Ellefson in the background.
I totally agree. Ellefson is a very underrated bassist
I just noticed he's playing with his fingers instead of using a pick, cool!
Jere A if you want to listen him plays with his fingers listen to the killing demos of 1984 :-)
degrasso's an underrated drummer
+Rishad D'souza It's a team effort and this was a first class team doing a top-notch performance of an excellent song, everything about this is great.
The harmonizing between Dave ans Al is beyond awesome :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!!!
CRAZY perfomance! guitar solos and drums EPIC !!!
When jimmy and al are so underrated
i whish they play this version more often
This is the best version of this jam for sure! It's a must at least once a month!
doubt their current drummer could pull it off
Dirk could do this with his eyes closed tbh.
Roger Smith are you kidding?? Please tell me you're joking. Dirk Verbeuren is a fucking monster of a drummer.
Best She wolf perfomance Ever!
I really love Marty/Nick, but whenever I hear this live, I think this is their best Megadeth line-up at least in the concerts (not in the studio). They're doing thier jobs so easily.
For the one studio album they all did together, they did really good. The world needs a hero kicked ass for the most part. A few week tracks
8:22 that high five after incredible jamming.....XD...
Dude I see you everywhere lol
Which mean you're also everywhere
Always loved that high five.
This whole song makes them look like the best metal band!
I was at this concert - the crowd went f*cking wild during this song. Indeed, that was a kick-ass dueling solo!!!!
Nothing against Shawn Drover but Jimmy Degrasso gives more energy when playing those drums.
If you think degrasso has more energy you need to see menza's live performances
Degrasso was better and faster then Menza. 🌪️
This improvisation before the solo is great. I always get goosebumps when I hear this.
I'd love to see Lars attempt that drum solo.
I dont quite dislike Lars as a drummer, but jimmy degrasso is just a beast
Hell, I want to see Kirk try to keep up with Dave and Al for the solos.
RaderizDorret hed ruin it if he attempted at all with his wah pedal
Ahh yes the irrelevant metallica comment.
+FL Lars is just above average, but he isn't as good as many other drummers
1:45 Santaclause I'm gobbling stones...
lol some days i just love the fact that under many Metallica and nearly every Megadeth video there's a discussion/battle/bitchfight going on between Metallica, Megadeth or fans from both bands. :D
But most of the time i just listen to the awesomeness of music.
Man, the drums made me forget how awesome the twin lead was... Then it all came home nicely. Great stuff.
As if proof were needed... Everything you love about Dave Mustaine and Megadeth all in one song... One band I really look up to.
Without a doubt, the greatest live version of She Wolf,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Fucking Amazing
This version should have been on the album. It rocks. Jimmy is freaking monster on the drums. No matter what band I see him play with. Those drums are crying after he's done.
one of the best if not the best live versions of this song, underrated lineup. not comparing other lineups, just saying this ones underrated
megadeth is one of the only metalbands nowadays that don't tune their guitar down live and still sound heavy... absolutely not saying other bands are bad, megadeth just stayed with their original sound instead of using new gear which sounds like crap like metallica for example now uses (again, not saying metallica is bad, they're just not as good as they used to be).
And of course... the solos are breathtaking :o musical talent in it's purest form.
Megadeth nowadays have tuned down to D i think.
BadMario64 sometimes they do because dave can't sing as high as he used to, but still, they use about the same gear as before. metallica for example switched to crappy guitars which sound like practise guitars. compare their sound from now to seattle '89 and you know what i mean :p
vincent51999 agreed. Metallica sounds like shit now a days. They lack that feel and energy from their live performances in the old days.
Gerardo Espinoza Don't forget Mr wah wah ,Mr oh Yeah and that sloppy drummer.
Furat Younes wah wah is used by every famous guitar player simply because it sounds awesome. 'Oh Yeah' sounded great before james fucked up his voice and lars wasn't a sloppy drummer, he is now but everyone gets older so shut up :)
those are good nicknames though, may i add "lord of monkeys" to the list for Rob? lol
that guitar and drum solo. holy mother of god.
Megadeth forever!
omg this is fucking pure amazing musicianship on daves side to hav rote this song in the first place and then writing a version almost 3 times as long is just amazing dave mustain is wut u would call a very professional musician
Legendary band. I heard Megadeth and Slayer are coming to my home country, Finland, in March this year. It will be great to see them live, finally. Both bands meant a lot to me when I was growing up in the 90's. Tickets begin sale on tuesday, 2 days from now when I write this post.
The chord move from the bridge into the new solo just makes my skin crawl. I love it!
59 people were bitten by a she-wolf
_well said, bro_
This has got to be the best performance of any song, ever!
Best megadeth song ever, best live performance!!!!
This is the best live perfomance of a song ever
An epic performance. Really energetic. This is megadeth
Hell yeah it was. Right after 9/11 and Dave was pissed. All of the energy in the building the night we saw this tour was unexplainable. We saw them at a pretty small venue and it felt like the walls and floor were breathing. Best Megs tour hands down in my opinion and I've seen my fair share. :)
Dread and the Fugitive Mind,perfect song.Megadeth rules🎸☢️👍
This is the holy grail of all metal and live performances.
this live version is so fucking awesome!! I can watch it over and over n never get tired of it
Menza had such a sick set up. I want that rack system. The only downside is that the cymbal height is bad for your arms and back. Yamaha drums are amazing (like most companies really). Great drummer. One of my favorites.
Some of the most mental solos you'll ever hear
my favorite live megadeth perfomance...this concert is epic...
Those solos were AMAZING!
the best guitar and drum solos ever, the drumer is a fucking machine
This is by far the best performance from Megadeth i've ever seen, the rest are epic too but this is just phenomenal. Trade-off solos are amazing, pure shred material and the drum solo was just wicked. All in All pure A++ performance 5/5*
man u can barely hear the crowd but theyre singin too!! and with the solos and shit, this my favorite live song from megadeth. sure peace sells and holy wars are great but this was once in a life time performance!
Lars couldn't even dream of doing that drum solo, jesus jimmy
This is when Dave's hand was messed up. Even if they were messed up, they can still make epic solos. Dave's hands cannot fool you!
I hope Jimmy comes back now that Shawn has left the band, it would be awesome.
Nah man they got a new drummer called Kiko. He's great.
kiko is the guitarrist but yea chris adler is great as well.
Soothsayer II Yea I mixed it up
this song was the biggest shock of my life...what a surprise. Megadeth forever
4:13 - I wonder what was Dave thinking...
"Fuck yeah, I've picked the right guy!"
More like: he interrupted me, I'll fire this guy after this gig...
I love how he’s just standing there looking at him
IF i was there, I would tear myself inside out just for the sheer joy of watching those fucking amazing solos. This vid is definetly worth a download.
De Grasso best megadeth drummer technically.
+Drumciclist Rudimental True, i will always love what nick menza did while in Megadeth, but De Grasso just makes it sound better
AlphaCureMom The guy is a powerhouse behind the band.....the other guys are great, but the drums ended up being part of the background, but with this guy you wanna listen to the next thing the drums will do.
IMO Gar Samuekson was the Best drummer, Nick Menza is a close second. Not a single drummer, including Nick Menza could stand up to what Gar did, especially on their first album. Just listen to both Mechanix, and Rattlehead. I have yet to hear a drummer that can pull off what Gar did!
Rob Bedore what about last rites/loved to deth? 😂
this proves again that megadeth is one of the best metal bands ever and mustaine one of the best guitar players in the metal world all thumbs up for MEGADETH!!!
WHY DID HE GET RID OF SUCH A GOOD DRUMMER
DAMNIT MUSTAINE
Juan well there's an opening now so... We can hope!
DeGrasso was for the most part a session musician. He simply had too many projects he was involved in to be full time in Megadeth. Mustaine said in an interview that he would've liked Jimmy in the band permanently but there were scheduling conflicts
Degrassi was never a member or ever wanted to be. He played, got payed and left. Studio musician.
I love it when they allow the drummer to showcase a few minutes of the show. Man they are awesome to watch.
I was at this show. By far the best Megadeth line up...
Kelly Sconza this line up is so underrated
Best Drummer, Guitarist/Singer and best Bassist... DAMN!
Is it me or that amazing solo is not on the original song?
diaphanoux nah man, they went all out on this one
improvising
Megadeth is one of the greatest metal bands that ever existed.!
holyshit!!!
goddamn that shit was fucking hot...Megadeth is my favorite band, and believe me for the longest I never had a favorite band, only because its hard for me to completely love a band that much, but damn Megadeth is my favorite by far of any other
Mother of all that is evil!!!
@Lpedraja2002 Al Pitrelli was actually the lead guitarist. Mustaine has only recently gone back to the trade-off solos and now he plays lead guitar along with Broderick.
Ah, it feels nice to be back here after listening to that hardwired crap
Caleb Friday dystopia is much better
Y’all are both high
Oh my gosh! I've watched this video about a dozen times this week. Can't get it out of my head! (and that's a good thing) :D
Rock on Megadeth!
Why do u left Megadeth De Grasso? :'( ooooh yeah... Mustaine
greatest bands always deliver when show is being recorded, thats a proof of their greatness... Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, AC/DC, Metallica, and many many other...
jimmy degrassooo is awesomeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
It amuses me when people compare Megadeth and Metallica. Clearly they are both monsters of metal. But if I WAS going to compare them, this is the video I would use. The guitar work between Dave Mustaine and Al Pitrelli is unequaled and the drum solo by Jimmy DeGrasso is one of the most amazing spectacles I've ever encountered in my 50 years of music enjoyment, and being a drummer myself must plainly state he is one of the best in the world
i came
+gabomb I went.
We go
I have only one word for this performance, Awesome.
Is dave even signing
Singing
yeah I think
archenemy918 yes you can clearly see him singing...
One of the rare cases when he is, actually.
@CrypticSweeper yup, 6 years after this to be exact, but if you pay atention in the solos you can hear the intro from washington is next!, dave had already that beat and he uses in this long extended version of she wolf, and after that beat becomes the main riff from washington is next!
Eyyy Mirenme!!!!!
Soy Latino.
:v
This is just incredible... I still get chills everytime I watch this.
Metallica comments: "Metallica an Megadeth are bot great"
Megadeth comments: "Metallica sucks"
"Metallica and Megadeth are both great."
they really need to start doing this again, would make me so happy haha, just picturing dave and chris doin the improv, would = magic
@Gustavo3267 I was just watching The Big Four Live from Sofia, Bulgaria. No idea what you mean about "Seek and Destroy played like a hard rock song." They still play it the same way. Yeah the vocals sound poppier, but that's because of James' voice changing as he's aged (he puts in a tired-sounding performance on the DVD I mentioned). But Dave's not immune to that either (listen to Rust in Peace Live), it just doesn't sound as poppy because there's nothing pretty about Dave's voice.
seen this about fifty times and it just never gets old, its a masterpiece
man everybody on earth needs to see this at least once before they die, those solos are fucking mind blowing
Wow my 20 cents:
1 Best Megadeth performance live!!
2 Amazing tight line up.
3 Jimmy ia a damn monster
4 Pitrelli is so underrated, going toe by toe against Mustaine in a dual solo is not an easy feat.
My most favourite live performance of all time.
best pop song in metal!!!!!!!!! i can watch this over and over. Probably there were only 1,900 users on this site, but everyone watched like hundred times :D
One of the best lives I've ever seen, solo is too epic..
i wish there was a studio version of this exact solos and everything, its so amazing!!
Love this song, saw Megadeth on this same tour in Cleveland, OH, the solo is AMAZING!!!!
@TrippleQ I'd say Lulu and the change from Kill 'Em All to Ride The Lightning were their largest changes. So for Metallica's classic stuff, Metallica's biggest changes WERE with Cliff in the band.
@RaderizDorret Yeah but Marty helped give us Rust In Peace and Countdown to Extinction, which are two of my favs of Megadeth (Rust in Peace being my fave), and they;re also both multi-platinum albums, selling the most out of every album in Megadeth's career. Hell, CTE has sold over 6 million copies to date world wide ALONE.
Pitrelli bulldozing thru Martys shit with ease holstered to a low slung explorer down to his knees.
Menza wouldve not been able to match Degrasso's power, timing, fills, double kick licks or speed. Different level.
This lineup "Live" made Megadeths catalog sound lethal. 🌪️
It's amazing how solid this lineup was. Dave's brutal riffs with Al's amazingly clean solos. DeGrasso's amazing drumming and of course the best bass player megadeth has ever had: Junior! I wish i could see this lineup once... I wish Al Pitrelli, Junior and Jimmy Degrasso stayed in Megadeth after the arm injury of Mustaine..!!! Long live the musical completeness of this lineup. I really don't feel that in Chris Broderick, Shawn Drover and James Lomenzo. Dave is still the man though!
MEGADETH!!!!!
this is my favorite solo of all time
@thegtagamer23 Mustaine first suggested Jackson make the Rhoads have horns of equal lengths, so technically he created the Jackson King V (the KV1 was Mustaine's signature).
Even when he switched to ESP and now Dean, he has generally used very similar guitars (24XJ King V)
I love how the drummer just take a breather in 7.28 and start playing the song
This performance is one of the main influences for me to become a guitar shredder.
Can you shred yet? 🤔
Most epic solo I've ever heard.
@Gustavo3267 Is "I'm not the only one who thinks that" supposed to be some kind of proof? You keep bringing it up. What you say should be true regardless of whether anyone agrees with you.
"Seek and Destroy" is still played with the same riffs. Naturally it doesn't sound as heavy to me as it used to, because now I've listened to much heavier bands. But they're still playing it the same way.
@0intelligence0 I agree with everything in your post. All the drummers did bring something to the table, with the exception of Drover. I've seen Deth live with Nick, Jimmy, and Drover as drummers. Nick's speed, tenacity, and technique are matched only by Slayer's Lombardo and Jimmy hit harder than a Tyson haymaker and made the band that much heavier. Shawn on the otherhand, eh... I saw them 6 months ago on the RIP 20 anniversary tour with Exodus and Testament and it was a fantastic show.
Amazing and epic enough said! Wow that solo and drum solo are one of the best ever!
Ricky Bloom I hope you've realized by now that this isn't Marty lol
