I think he’s a great drummer but I didn’t think he fit the Megadeth style, he always seemed to be struggling to keep up if that makes sense? Nick Menza/Shawn Drover had more flow.
@@sudsysutherland359 Jimmy's drumming seems too rigid for Megadeth. I definitely understand what you're saying by "he always seemed to be struggling to keep up". It's like he's having to double the effort to match the normal intensity of Dave and company. Nick fits in with the group a lot better, and songs like this really highlight it. When I was watching the Woodstock 99 performance of Holy Wars, Jimmy's drumming just didn't sound right with the band.
The era of post Menza and falling out Marty. In my opinion there's something happened about Menza other than all stories we heard, that is kept private for Menza's sake. And De Grasso is a badass drummer.

The recording from Rude Awakening was definitely mixed better. I think it was more of a mixing problem in the case of this video. Dave and Marty's tones just weren't blending together well.
This wasnt even mixed. Its basically bootleg soundboard recording that has been circulated for years before they officially released 7 songs from it for the Greatest hits bonus disc.
Pitrelli plays better phrases in his own solo in Rude awakening ,according to Friedman's solo here. Both are great but i think Pitrelli did better job on this song and he had much better tone.

Wanna cringe? Google “Marty Friedman quit over the Breadline Solo.”
Crappy management behavior ruined the best guitar duo in metal. 😢

The best version of the best song ever!

its crazy how a multi plat band can go from arenas to smal venues in a matter of just a few years
In 2022 they are back in arenas. It is all about good management and label support.
Thanks to grunge in the late 90s unfortunately
I’m sure most bands will appreciate small venues than having to deal with shitty management at arenas
can we appreciate the absolute crispness of this video ❤
