back in 90's (or even before 2009) Dave could sing em easily. Seriously, Dave could hit some of the highest notes in the metal in the 90's and 80's. :D
He's still hit the high notes easily in 2007-2008 tour, then suddenly he lost his voice. Just watched Download 2007 performance compare to RIP anniversary show, light and day difference.

I feel David doesn't get the credit he deserves as a backing vocalist. The notes in She-Wolf are quite high. Not sure if Dave would be able to sing them if he had to. Props to David!
I saw Metallica a few years ago and I was shocked at how even to this day people are not familiar with Megadeth. I felt like the guy from the movie yesterday where I’m the only one who has heard Megadeth.
I always wonder and still wonder why any live footage from the old days has way better sound production than post 2000? I'm not talking about the performance, but the sound production. These days the guitar tone, the drum snare and pedal sounded like utter crap. Only the picture quality is better.
I think the drums are the main part in the overall tone. Nick Menza’s taste in drum sound is spot on. He would’ve got his techs to get it sounding sick. If you compare the Lars’ kit from black album tour to anything past 2000’s they all sound bland as well.
@@sandyc7250 Yea I think that's true. He always used typewriter instead of double bass. The snare and double bass sound are certainly the biggest difference on their overall sound. Even when they had Jimmy , the double bass still packed a punch, but then Shawn came in, it just got worst.
