That is some high quality H2O. good job Waterboy 👏
I hope this comment gets more love. 😂😂
Lol
At my lowest point in life it seems lately and hell I’ve been to rehab but I’m 3 years sober. These videos really do help people cause I know they help me. Thank you guys you’re all amazing 🙏🏻
Stay strong brother! 👊
👌
congrats on 3 years. Keep on keeping on.
Keep watching and stay sober. Brighter days are coming
Hang in there brotha, things will get better. Congratulations on 3 years
Cardio day!
"Go fill this up" and I'm thinkin where in the world is he gonna get water? I dont know why I ever question Paul. Haha love it.
At least it happened right where it needed water! Had plenty of lake water, LoL!!!! Great Video!
And it seems there is NOT a lot of water out there.
An adventure with Papa Dar is always a good thing. The old Taco still gets it done despite being ill.
Whoever does the editing on this channel is a keeper!! The camera work, the music, the sound, all make for a great coffee accompaniment.
It's his wife Michelle
And editing a video is not as easy as some people think! It requires skill and it's A LOT of hard work! Michelle is doing a very good job!
Michelle and Deanna our cousin does the editing. I am pretty sure Deanna did most of the editing on this video.
@@josephsorensen7168 - Two extremely talented ladies.
You guys are killing us with these filler videos. 😆 🤣 You know we want the Nugget!!!! You are the best. Keep doing what you do.
Filler videos?? These are the videos. The nugget was a rare occasion.
@@samuelorozco255 I know. I was just being funny. This is the stuff that got me to start watching. I personally hope he doesn't change the Taco too much. I enjoy seeing what a slightly modified truck can do. I am curious to see a supercharger on it though.
@@danielfritz8569
He might swap an put a mini cooper supercharged motor in it. 🤪🤪🤪😉😅😅😅🤣😂
@@danielfritz8569 i would not consider a solid axle second gen tacoma slightly modified
I had a 73 Ford that split the top hose I had some ductape and coat Hager it got me to a gas station 10 miles away, great job with the recovering and God bless from GA
You've gotta wonder what Ford was thinking on those.....
Having always driven real old cars, I always carry tools, water and oil. And I pray often.
I don’t think Paul realized how much he missed his taco. Even with her being cranky and spoiled 😂👍🏼🇺🇸
Water boy? No problem. Just remember ....what ever you do....just be the best at it. You did great!
Paul is like his truck bad ass and reliable.
Where's Poppa Dar been? Good to see him again!
Carl T----He had his arm in a sling for a while . I forget what the problem was .
Good recovery guy's....water-boy was most impressive runnin his sack off !!.... thanks for sharing
you can doooo it !
Poor lad, why didnt Paul reverse back a bit, bring the truck to the water not the water to the truck
@@wildforesthome6563 He should have chased a bucket full of steam and told the driving dude go get water from that.
I would have them empty all bottles, fill them each trip. But I have a clean milk jug in every truck with water. If nothing else to wash hands, cuts…. I would think a tool kit, basic supplies in truck. Jug of 50/50 winter water summer, basic tool set. I bought bag of tools, keep adding to it. 12v plug into lighter compressor. Old serpentine belt (from last change). Heck a 2 liter soda bottle of water.
Hey young guys have plenty of energy to run off lol
Lesson learned from watching MORR and FabRats: “Leave the diesels on the pavement.”
Yes, I'm glad Paul said something about it!
never been stuck with my diesel pickup I have had it around 10 years .. don't rock climb but we do get a ship load of snow where I live .. it's a chevy crew cab ..
@@randytravis3998 diesels weight would probably be great for snow. Sand. Not so much
It's all down to the gearing, type of transmission and engine response.
common rail with DEF and EGR systems all have a delay due to environmental regulations. another 5 years new gas engines will be the same.
I've got a VW 1 tonne truck (not sold in USA) and its responsive but reverse is the issue due to the programming limiting power. but on flat ground in reverse without a seatbelt it has enough power to pull you fall off the seat and in my opinion its a bit dangerous
@@desertfox3860 I believe Matt from MORR referred to them as "helpless." Of course, he was referring to 2wd diesels, but diesel none the less.
Nothing that gets me fired up more than when I see, a huge bush bashing truck outback with low profile street tyres and wondering why they are stuck!
...but that wasn't why he was stuck... Paul said the engine just didn't have enough power.
Reminds me of the time me and my brother drove a 66 Buick wildcat from Az to Oh. It had rotted out freeze plugs that leaked like crazy. We had to stop every 1/2 hr to refill with water. We stopped near some giant lake in Oklahoma to get water. Seven miles from the house, we had to fill that car with water. The shit you do when you're young is amazing.
Landon's the MVP of today's vid.
Love your channel and video. Just a gentle reminder that Ed is not getting younger. I hope he will be healthy enough to enjoy everyone's work. Keep on keeping on.
Welomeback dar Paul how are you guys this morning ,great video
CAT mud flaps Paul!! I love it! Never noticed that, CAT rocks!
Your Water Boy is a true hero 👏
How many bottles of water does a Ram hold? LOL!!! Good job guys!! Good to see Darr out and about again!!
I love watching Paul work this guy does more without thinking about it he just has that Get it done attitude. awesome content..... Thanks!!
IF you can get at it, a few taps with a tool can sometimes free up a stuck thermostat.
Morning Fab Rats Family!! Always there to lend a hand (or a winch rope)!!! Nice to see Dar and Landon on this recovery ... (Landon has grown into quite the capable young man!!) Good family, Good friends, Good Ethics... doesn't get much better than that!!!❤❤much love to ya'll❤❤
Just what I needed
When I saw the license plate I knew what the problem was. A "Texas Flatlander"!🤣😂🙃🌵
Overheating tip : turn the cabin heater on full blast to dump some of that heat
late 80's ford taurus fan moves a ton of air. look into it. also if you have a clutch fan get the hayden severe duty clutch. also moves three times more air. kills 1/2 mpg. I always drill a tiny hole in the t-stat for yotas get air under the stat and they will not open with hot air. if you have a pin hole in the stat no air can get trapped.
Also the 90s mark viii fan. I went with 4th gen camaro fans on my ls swapped truck, they move a ton of air too.
On my old 22R Yota pick up, I had some overheating problems after lots of offroad mods, gearing, bigger tires and added weight. I removed the fan clutch and installed a fan that runs 100% of the time. The fan is pretty noisy! At the same time, I got a new radiator and all high grade hoses.
My temp gage never goes up over halfway! Even if the truck is overloaded with camping/wheelin gear and tools and I climb slow in 4.0 low range for a few hours.
I'm going to put a higher temp thermostat in. In winter the motor takes too long to heat up and my once awesome heater doesn't work so great anymore! I've resorted to blocking 1/2 the radiator with cardboard! This isn't my daily driver, just a rig for fun so I'm not too worried, but I'd love to chain up all four tires and do some snow wheelin.
Love you guys
Hey Paul, have you ever changed the coolant bypass pipe? I’ve got a few second gen Tacomas, and it’s a cheap little plastic pipe on the driver’s side of the engine (down low next to the block). They make stainless replacements, what I used. Hope this helps!
🤫 shhhh! Let him do an aluminum block LS swap!
@@bougiebum9138 forget that. those 4.0 v6s from toyota are bulletproof
@@strawsparky33 indeed they are, can run in 47°c temperatures in the Shara desert and all over Africa for years without any issues
@@strawsparky33 ahh ill stick to my 3.4l 5vz-fe. That ole girl with the clutch fan handles 100°F air temp 80% humidity(heat index 115°+.
@@strawsparky33 Yeah those 4 liter engines are great. They don't have the horsepower or fuel economy of the new 3.5 liter but when you drive the 2 of them I swear the 4 liter is better. When my 2003 Tacoma dies I'm getting a Tacoma with the 4 liter.
It was good to see the Tacoma again . I hadn't seen it in quite a while.
I really enjoy seeing this Tacoma work. The FJ and the tow truck are nice, but nothing really beats this one. Hope you never retire it or really change it too much.
I've been wanting to put my request in for a awhile now, but didn't want to be one of those guys that tell you what to do to you things. But since you already plan on making a list. I would love to see a new tacoma front bumper build. That thing is a little bit of an eye sore compared to all the other pretty things you've built. I appreciate every single one of you fab rats, you guys are killing it.
Didnt even have to air down love it
Fab Rats 🐀 to the rescue 👏
Momma goat putting in work as she always does. She might have a little fever but that didn’t stop her. Can’t wait to see this girl get the love she deserves. Great job FabRats. It was good seeing Darr out on the trails.
I no 1 thing he will never swap time to actually thank his subscriber family, dude is a total im the best
It's awesome to see Darr out-n-about, good-job, and great video guys, thanks for sharing.
Dang Paul, your going to have all the soot heads upset . 😡 they're going to spool up and make more smoke than a forest fire. 😅😅😅🤣😂😅
Paul you guys did a mighty good deed. Sure was nice of you. Cool video 👍👍👍❤️
Helping people with a great attitude & smiles... that's doin' the Lord's work - thank you Fab Rats 😇
My old Porsche 924 popped off the bleeder nipple on the top hose. Took a bit of caution tape that was hanging across the street. drank the last bit out of a 1,5L bottle and dipped that in the stream on the other side of the building. wrapped tape around the hose that still leaked a bit, filled her up with river water and a 4L can too. Drove till she overheated, filled halve of a water and drove further. Overheat and filled once more until it over heated again. Uh... oh look a puddle of water in mud beside the road just deep enough to get our 1,5L drink bottle, filled the car and with our 5,5L of storage we drive even further. Took me about 4 hours to get home while I was 2.5 hours from home. But man was I happy to be home! And what a great story!
Nice work Fab Rats !!!!
Lol, the look on Paul's face when he talks about the guy going off into a different (Tom's) trail.
Looks like Papa Darry’s shoulder is improving. 👍
"We'll get it out."
The lastest words are the famousest words.
Turn the heater on full. It’s a second radiator and has helped me a couple times in emergencies. It’ll cool it right down. Little back road tip if you didn’t know it already
I expect 3 golden nugget reveal vids. One from Matt, Robbie and yours ofcourse. Showing the different perspectives.
The GN must be seriously broke, no one has talked about it since the rear froze up. People are thinking they forgot to put lube in the pumpkin.
@@thefuppits it could have been a pinion bearing also ,, depends on how much damage they could repair or replace .. 99% sure they have another rear end unit
@@thefuppits Didnt sKeeter bring them a new 3rd member? should be a quick fix then.
Probably this upcoming week; I think that's what they were shooting for. It will be a couple days after the actual hand-over, of course.

Hike out wearing only flip-flops…or call Fab Rats! 😂
I'm glad Dar is feeling better.I want to see his truck after Robbie did his magic on it.
Easy-peasy for you guys give that truck some love real soon
Thanks for sharing 👍😀
Nice recovery. There was more drama in your own vehicle than with the stuck truck. Thankfully, nothing you couldn't deal with.
There is no shortage of diverse off road terrain around you. That was a nifty road you were on there. Great video.
Alls well that ends well, take care be safe, don't forget to give the Tacoma some TLC, and have a blessed week amen.
i cant wait to see what happened to the golden nugget!!
Lalo - Different strokes. I don't really care about the Nugget. But most people do.
Between you guys and Matt over at Matt’s off-road…. Thank you. Image taken a bad hit on my health this year, and due to some stupid on my part, my marriage is struggling… so I’m at the bottom after 47 years. But you two… y’all make me smile and give me hope that life is still there. Thanks. From the bottom of my heart. Thanks.
Thanks Guys
I agree. Your videos do help people down in a pit. Another person that has a big heart like yours is Heavy D Sparks. Amazing videos. But Paul. You may want to think about talking too him because he has heavy axles and parts that you may like. Stay safe. God Bless.
Looking forward to the Taco rebuild!
Awesome as usual...
Hey Faby Rats 🐀 I say when the thermostat is stuck, I would leave the cap off the radiator and drive between 50 and 55 on the highway.👍😉 It circulates somewhat.😯😯
I was just thinking , haven't seen the Tacoma in a while? Love that truck!
I've never not watched a Fab Rats video right through to the 'Thanks for watchin', and Michelle's incredible work on the editor desk makes it even sweeter!
That's some high quality H2O there. LOL
Thank you for your time.
2:33 kid is a professional camera man, even on the run..
Great recovery guy's the ole' Taco is being tempermental with a little love she'll pipe down lol, Lando is gettin in his cardio, God bless ya'll ❤😉👍
Hi guys. Hope you’re having a good day.
This is a fine example of why you should always use engine coolant instead of just water, (I'm not saying that paul isnt). Coolant lubricates and prevents rust which is what causes thermostats to stick.
AND STILL NO WORDS ON THE NUGGETS NEEDED PARTS FOR THE REAR END THAT LOCKED UP, SO SAD.
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽 cool lil truck. Love the Bob tail bed..
Yet another fun day in Hog Canyon. Yep the Taco needs some love
The water boy turns out to be the hero!
Good to see Dar with y’all. We have missed him. Great video. 👍👍👍🌟🌟🌟❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Another project! Piled higher and deeper!
From Huntsville, Alabama, Enjoying your channel..!
Getting to the scene is most of the fun!!
Right when I was going to settle for one of those inside the shop building awesome stuff videos. Then you go an do something like this ! 😎
Even with an overheating truck the jobs still gets done. Despite that going to track and helping somebody else is always a great thing.
Hog Canyon!! Love that place.
Awesome recovery guys. So sorry the Taco got so hot on the way up there. Can't wait to see the TLC and upgrades you'll do Paul.
Good OLD Toyota. Great Job Guys
It’s always when you least expect that something will just hold ya up!
Nice work guys. Great job passing these skills on to your kids paul.
Great videos.........from Fontana Ca. Love what you guys do, both in the shop and on recoveries.
Great job guys!
online racing shops sell a open hole disk that replaces a thermostat.
but i have often ground the legs off an old thermostat bridge pulled the guts, and used the open hole disk as a restrictor.
that ^^^^ cant sieze up
and overheat😎
you dont need to worry about it not warming up in texas in the winter- - zip ties and bias plies voice.
I always chuckle at people who have 4wd or awd think they can go anyplace. One thing i was taught there it two types of offroaders.. Those who have gotten stuck and those that haven't yet.
Paul & Michelle, your channel is my 2022 favorite channel to watch. Keep up the good work.
It’s my favorite channel too.
You should get all that water out of the cooling system and just use Toyota coolant, also the supercharger sounds like a great idea
When you fix the overheating, can you replace that power steer pump so it’ll shut up!, Drives me nuts 😂🤙😂🤙
When turning the hubs in I noticed the rims seen some rocks up close and personal.
Good to see Dar!
The sugar content is the main factor that makes Mountain Dew worse than other sodas. One serving of “The Dew” has 11 teaspoons of sugar. One serving of Coca Cola only has 9 grams of sugar, which is a lot already. Mountain Dew also has a lot of citric acid in it, which will soften your enamel.Oct 11, 2021
I once weighed out the 39g or whatever of sugar in a 12 oz can of coke. That's a lot of sugar. It's no wonder we have a problem with diabetes in the US. To your second point my wife has a terrible time with her teeth. She drinks a lot of lemon flavored Turkey Hill iced tea. I asked the dentist if all the sugar in her iced tea is the cause of her problems. He told me it was the citric acid added that is the real issue.
So yeah, you are spot on.
The hard water you used is full of minerals, it will form gunk over time that can wreak havoc on your radiator.
Well done!
W A T E R B O Y!!! New t-shirt to come!!!!
