HinPen, the ‘nifty fifty’ is a must for all canon users, it’s a great little lens for the price, I have used it for both street and woodland photography and love it, keep up the vlogs!
Hi Peb - Enjoyable blog - I too have a 24-105 and quite oftensnd a couple of primes. I quite often leave the big lens behind and just take a couple of primes for a day out
Hi Pen, nice video. I agree with you about the 50mm. Three weeks ago I bought a Canon 6D Mark II (second hand...) and last week the Canon 50mm f/1.8 (new). I like them very much. I like to shoot in the night in town and with these gears I feel that I increased a lot my photo quality (well... mainly because of the 6D m II)...Keep doing these videos.
I have got a Panasonic Lumix G3, which is a older model. I have never really checked how many shots it can take, but I think when I got it they said 300 ish. But I am not like you as I don't make my living with it, but I do like the portability of it.
@@stevebonner9108 Yes Panasonic as a brand I know very little about but the more I research Panasonic seem to be good. Thank you for taking the time to answer 👍
Nice vlog, Penny. Some nice captures, too. Really like the b&w of the horse's nose! You just reminded me I have a 50mm prime lens sitting a box somewhere that I've barely used. Must dig it out! Thanks for the video! Be well and have a great week!
Primes are always better value for the quality. Zooms are expensive because they are trying to replace several primes. Lenses for digital are more expensive because they have to be larger to reduce the angle of the light to stop chromatic aberration. Keep producing the videos 🙂
I'm still very much confused by the different camera types. I have been using the Canon 1300d for the last 2 years since I started. I have learnt though, that I need a lens with IS as I love trying to capture wildlife. How did the time lapse go?
Yes image stabilisation is very handy especially with the long focal lengths. The time lapse is ok but not really what I had in mind lots to learn which I will be putting my learning process up. 😬

Thank you. It's good when new gear helps your workflow. 👍
Some great images there Pen. I have got a mirrorless camera and I don't have much trouble with battery life and it's getting on a bit now.
What miracles camera do you have how many shots do you think you can get out of one battery charge ?

I always think a zoom is convenient but a prime lens is definitely more fun. 👍

That makes sense thank you.
For a year now I have been taking pictures with a Canon EOS 60d and I am very happy.......
Yes I think it a very underrated camera. Really good value.

Yes totally agree I have been using my 50mm a lot more than I thought I would. 👍
