    You know what I love about your videos? Please don’t take this the wrong way, but I really like that you’re not a pro. You’re garage painter with real world garage painting issues. I do the same type of stuff and my jobs never come out perfect. I just have to spend a little more time buffing and cutting. Keep up the great work.

      Exactly! I’m not a pro and don’t consider myself one, but I try to stay real with it show what results you can actually get in a garage , a little cut and buff and you wouldn’t be able to tell if it was sprayed in a garage or in a shop! 🤙🏻 thanks brother cheers

    Man I really need your help. I did all the prep like part 1. But when I laid down the base coat it look like lines and some parts look nice and smooth. I also not sure if I mix it good. The guy at the paint shop did explain it. He said do half paint the half reducer. For a 2004 range rover. 697 paint please help what can I do to fix it. Not sure also if my gun settings were right also.

      Yeah used the tekna for the clear but I would have preferred the sata leaves a nicer finish , oh well

    Looks real good. A bug in the last coat of clear not a problem but a bug in the base then cleared over its body fluids will burn a hole down to the primer leaving a hole in the paint job.

    Good work. What kind of exhaust fan u use. I sprayed entire car in garage everything came fine,, except hood it has lot of dust and because i dont have exhaust fan, fumes fall back on hood .. so like to know the exhaust fan u use and any advise u have on the problem i listed

    • @Mechaniclyfe

      The fan I use is a 24” inch drum fan with around 7000cfm which works very well for exhausting overspray and some dust. The fan can be purchased at any hardware store or even harbor freight which sells the same fan . Try wetting the floor too , it’ll keep some dust down. That should help tremendously. Try air blowing the garage as well of any dust that might be lingering in the walls or ceiling

    Where did u purchase the SATA and Tekna guns from, and what is the fix if gun starts doing like your SATA did?????

    • @Mechaniclyfe
      @Mechaniclyfe  4 года назад +1

      Both guns were purchased from offerup actually , I always try to get good guns for cheap , the fix is either tighten the tip or replace the tip seal

    Another excellent video! For you last coat of clear, did you pull the gun away a bit more than the first coats? What size (gallons, cfm, and h.p.) compressor were you using? The Tekna seemed to work well with the air supplied.

    Bro, for every coat of clear use the same psi?

    • @Mechaniclyfe
      @Mechaniclyfe  3 года назад +1

      Most of the time, sometimes I pump it up 2-5 psi higher for a finer finish

    • @Jaimerga
      @Jaimerga 3 года назад

      @@Mechaniclyfe so you start whit 2 psi and finish whit 5 psi

    For your panle painting jobs try using a production clear that locks out the dust faster. That will leave alot less "tacky time" for the dust to land in it. Still a good finish tho bro

    One time try taking a roll of plastic, wet the floor then spread plastic over it. Nice job on the vid as always 👍

    I think the bug was the least of your problems. Looks like you got lots of cratering/fish eye holes on the clear coat. Some of those holes can be very deep and no amount of sanding will fix them. Usually those are caused by contamination, or bad gun settings, such as too much liquid going down the panel and not enough atomization.

      Those actually aren’t fisheyes , that’s dust specks that landed on the hood, my mistake was I opened the garage door too early and when I opened it the dust from the door since it swings over the hood sprinkled dust specks and that’s what you see, cut and buff took care of those
