I loved the beautiful flat terrain around Quebec compared to the clutter surrounding Newark.

Express Jet has the most helpful and friendliest flight attendants. I enjoy flying with them.

Brilliant flight report Liao. That buzzing engine sound was splendid.

Thank you Yannis! To some people, sitting at the last row is bad because of the engine sound. But to others, sitting at the last row is great also because of the engine sound!

This seat is the one I would have chosen too in a T-tail jet.

It looks like you had a beautiful day for flying out of Quebec City. The autumn leaves were indeed beautiful. Great video as usual!

Hi David! Yes that day was beautiful, the fall color at its best. That's arguably the best time to visit Quebec City. Thank you again!

Very nice video ! I live in Quebec City, I learned to fly in YQB and I worked there too. FYI, about the plane you saw on final while lining-up to RWY 06, it's a Quebec Government CL-415. During fall season, they do training. It was probably practicing ILS approaches and was meant to overshoot. That's why you lined-up even if it was so close to the runway. It's a very usual situation here in YQB. :)

Hi olinadeau, thank you for the explanation! It's great to learn from an expert. Now that makes more sense. As you used to fly and work at YQB, these scene are probably normal to you. But I think both Quebec City and YQB are gorgeous, especially in fall. By the way, I just posted a video of my top 6 of 2017 plane spotting. Check it out if you would like!

Quebec City is a very beautiful place to live. Even for us who live here, it's beautiful. And it has to be seen during all seasons. At this time of the year, with Christmas decorations, Old Quebec is just amazing. During summer, it's totally different. There is a lot of people and a lot to do. And as you said, during fall season, the colors make it very nice. I'm glad you liked it ! :) I'll check your other videos for sure! Merry Christmas !

谢谢,我的朋友 ! Again, a most enjoyable post! Thank-you very much. Your video reminded me of another’s post of his flight from Toronto to Washington, D.C. It also reminded me so much of the commuter flight I used to take between Chicago and my hometown of Danville, Illinois on a Beach-99 back in the 1970s. I really did enjoy the change from flying 5 miles high to 5,000 feet. The view was so much more vivid. Amazingly, when I compared the time of flight between a jet and the Dash-8 on the Toronto-D. C. route, they were virtually identical.
Both Toronto’s and Quebec’s airports look exceptionally clean and manicured as compared to many of the U.S. major airports. How refreshing to see. Sadly, I must admit again to you that Air Canada appears from your videos to be a much more superior airline than U.S. carriers. Along those lines, the last time I flew into Newark in the early 1960s, it was to the old terminal, and Newark was still a very respectable city. I know I am showing my age, but most certainly do not care. I am very well versed in regards to how utterly classy and upscale commercial air travel used to be. One caveat worth mentioning is the fact that at times, I might be critical my observations related to U. S. air travel, but by no means am I at all disloyal or unpatriotic. In short, I am a U. S. military career veteran with a great love for my country, as all should be regarding their country(ies).
I hope your flight on the Air Canada ERJ-145 provided you with ample leg room. I flew on a Delta affiliated, regional airline’s ERG-145 in which I had to stick my legs into the aisle just to begin feeling comfortable. However, to be honest, I am 6 feet, 4 inches tall.
I believe I replied to your reply on one of your earlier posts that my name is “Guerry”, pronounced “Gary”. If you desire, please feel free to call me by my name. Again, thank-you so much for this post. You really bring back some wonderful memories to me. I most certainly look forward to seeing your trip back home!

One of the ultimate goals of the channel is to connect travel memories of the audience. I am truly happy to see this post did that. I believe the period of time you enjoyed back in the 1970s is so called golden age of commercial aviation. I hope I were lucky enough to experience that.
Quebec airport is exceptionally clean and modern. This trip to Quebec City really changed my impression of the city. Unfortunately I didn't have time to check out the Toronto airport, the connections for my flight to Quebec was too tight. By the way I will post a video of my AC flight from Toronto to Quebec City soon.
Speaking of U.S. carriers, I still remember my experience with United in December 2016. I was on a delayed UA flight to LAX for a connecting flight to Korea, the estimated arrival time was 20 min before my next departure. Reluctant-to-help agents, impossible connecting time and the massive footprint of LAX made it an exciting story. In short, I ended up running through the newly opened LAX terminal walkway from Terminal 8 to 7, 6, 5, 4 and then to the international terminal, with my roller bag. Luckily, my next flight was also delayed by an hour so I didn't have to sleep on a bench at LAX. The happiness of catching the flight is unforgettable.
The legroom of the United Express ERJ-145 was not bad, enough for a 1.5 hr flight. I also flew on a Delta connection ERJ-145 from SEA to SJC last year.
Happy Veteran's Day Guerry! The people in the US thank you for your service.

Doesn't the ERJ-145 have winglets? And doesn't it operate into and out of terminal A at EWR?

Do you have to go through customs at that time from Quebec City since I believe there's no TSA preclearance at that time?

around 3:50, you mentioned another coming in for a landing and that is rare...not really, it's why they have air traffic control as well rules for taxi (I am a run and taxi qualified Mechanic) if the tower gives you the green light, you move as they see fit. There is no second guessing on the runway and taxiways.

YQB is actually a lovely airport, though the erj15 is a hideous plane... but the sunny day made it nice to watch....

Loved seeing YQB! Were you worried when you saw that second aircraft given AC's incidents at SFO?

    • @fuhkangliao1
      @fuhkangliao1  6 лет назад

YQB is nice and chill. That second aircraft indeed made me sweat a little bit. Interestingly I still flew AC738 from SFO to YYZ after these incidents. I guess I couldn't resist Dreamliner.
