That's one of the nicest looking economy inflight meals I've seen in a long time ! Real food, real colour!
Sarcasm?
vegetables rice and bread. yum
@@Peichen01 no because meat is everything you cretin. 2022 and youre still upset about vegetarian food
Customer service is non existence at EI. The cabin staff has a bit of an attitude. Better, cheaper airlines fly this route. 🤮🤔
@@tryan7 : I couldn't agree more. Their staff are absolute shit and shouldn't be representing any airline but that's unions for ya. I few from Dublin to Chicago on the worst aircraft I have ever flown on. Nothing worked, not the Wifi, the TV and the seat was broken and didn't recline. Thankfully I was able to move and find a seat that actually reclined. The truth is British Airways would not allow an aircraft in that condition off the ground but that's shitty Aer Lingus for you. Oh and they didn't even serve coffee or tea on the fight, you got water. An awful experience which I hope never to repeat.
Those huge red and white cranes, visible at takeoff ( 10.00) were built in Kerry and Cork and shipped fully assembled all the way across the Atlantic. Mad stuff.
So? What's so great about that? Did you think Ireland was incapable of making anything?
@@colors6692 It's more the fact that such things could be transported, fully assembled, across the Atlantic.
@@colors6692 You must be fun to talk to
@@colors6692did you get enough wank material from your trolling comment? Or did your little acorn not harden up enough to come out of its shell .......
@@colors6692 As an Irish man, yes! that is just as surprising.
737 MAX and A321LR are the future of some long haul flight, especially on low demand International route
Yes. Many South American carriers are alreading using this. Avianca operates a A320 to JFK
Sad but true
But bigger planes are more comfortable on long haul. Fact or cap?
@@karlma7979 he talk about low demand . Such a waste if you run big plane just for 30 40 passenger
@@karlma7979 While I prefer flying on wide-bodies. It makes more economic and environmental sense to fly shorter planes on these routes.
I fly Aer Lingus regularly between London Heathrow and Chicago via Dublin (A321neo and A330-300 for this last trip). The lowest prices and the ease of Dublin’s USA pre-clearance make it worth the added time for transfer. Dublin Terminal 2 can get extremely busy and over-crowded in the middle of the day when all of the North American flights are departing but I’m used to it.
Same here. I now insist on going through Dublin on trips to the USA. It's much better to deal with the TSA after a one hour flight than the full 8 hours. Also, I got pulled into secondary processing on my last trip, and made me think that if I was going to be refused entry for any reason, better in Dublin than to get across the Atlantic only to be turned back.
Thank you for the heads up
I really enjoy your videos, a lot more, than other tripreports. There is no unnecessary talking, just the info I need. Thanks a lot!
The day this video was released, Aer Lingus announced new non-stop service between Cleveland, Ohio (CLE) and Dublin, Ireland (DUB) that will use the A321LR.
And buffalo
Aer lingus should reactivate doméstic Services too to shannon...
@Tom Smith Good to know. The A321LR has some business class seats. I could not fly across an ocean in a 17" seat.
That was a very smooth landing. In fact the landing in Newark was incredible too, despite the air/weather condition.
Irish pilots are no stranger to the wind.
Very good report . I like the non talking format with subtitles . Arriving at 4h50am !! An ungodly hour even for St Finbar !
Yes I am mesmerized at this. TAP flies the A321 from Newark to Lisbon and, before the pandemic, from Natal, the most northeastern point of South America, to Lisbon as well!
Thank you for the review😊🙏🏼
I didn't expect Aer lingus to have this sort of flight thanks for showing.
This just proves that the A321 is a go-anywhere type of plane.
@@joezegers I suppose if such planes can handle fights to the Canaries and Cyprus 4 to 5 hours then trans Atlantic to US East coast from Ireland is not much more of a stretch.
@@jgdooley2003yeah my exact thought
My first ever transatlantic flight was on an Aer Lingus Boeing 720 EL-ALC routing DUB-SNN-BOS=JFK and the same on the return, different style of air travel ,smoking was allowed in those days, and on the inflight meal tray was a packet of 5 carrolls cigarettes
I remember vividly being on the balcony at Dublin Airport when it was still just the original Desmond Fitzgerald building and watching that Aer Lingus Boeing 720 EL-ALC which my uncle and his family had just boarded when he was on his way to take up post as head of Bord Failte's New York office. It must have been '68, I think.
Oh, I have taken an interest in Ireland about a month ago, great to see this video!
One nice thing about Newark is you get a great view of the port of new jersey, if you are into that stuff
Yay! You promised this was upcoming...so glad to see it published.
Another amazing Trip Report! Enjoyable as always; thanks for sharing!
Aer Lingus, Guinness and Father Ted, the holy Trinity of Ireland!
I flew Aer Lingus from BOS-DUB-BER, then MUC-DUB-BOS last month and, besides a mishap by the checkin crew at Munich (a contractor, they lost the passenger list and had to check everyone in manually, delaying the flight by almost three hours -I thought I was going to miss my connection to Boston, but the airline staff at Dublin were great and made sure everyone got their connections, and quickly), I thought the service was perfectly fine to very good. The planes were clean, the crews universally friendly, and everyone (even the frontline contract employees whose colleagues screwed up the passenger list and had to get grief form some of the delayed passengers) was very capable. One thing I really liked was the dessert on the BOS-DUB flight was probably the best chocolate mousse I have ever had. I was hoping the same would be served on the DUB-BOS flight, but no dice.
I’m impressed with the kit-out of this long haul A321. The food looks pretty decent too. Thanks for sharing. ☘️
Back in March we flew AerLingus from Boston to dublin on the A330-300 and the flight wasn’t full at all and gave me the chance to have an entire row to myself for the overnight flight. Unfortunately I felt the flight crew wasn’t very chipper or welcoming the inflight entertainment was great! And the seats were pleasant
Never could understand why a rural country can justify a national airline flying long haul, wide bodied jets.
@@michaelfeeney8437 Because the Irish government subsidies Aer Lingus.
@@michaelfeeney8437 Ireland's position at the western edge of Europe makes it a very good place to fly through from North America. Also, US border preclearance basically makes all flights from Dublin and Shannon to the United States domestic US flights, making it an attractive option for the airline and passengers, as they can use the domestic terminals at the destination airports. Iceland enjoys a similar position, but without the advantage of US preclearance.
@@michaelfeeney8437
Dublin has a population of 1.25 million people and its airport saw 33 million passengers pass through it in 2019.
Ireland hosts Europe's most commercially successful airline Ryanair and it is the nation where a majority (approximately 60%) of the entire world's leased aircraft are registered and managed.
@@mmaximk I agree !! 👍 I though his unjust comment was very disrespectful & under-rated/ appreciated & unfair !! Lol.👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇮🇪💞
I’ve had the EI chicken meal and it was honestly one of the best airline meals I’ve ever had.
Interesting video, thanks. While you mention the seat in terms of space for your legs, was it comfortable for the flight & were you able to sleep? Also, how was the cabin temperature - like Golidilocks' porridge, too cold, too hot or just right? Sorry if I sound demanding but I think it would help round out your review
Ah go on have a cuppa! Thanks Mrs.Doyle!!
Great cabin with great interior by air lingus
@Simpy Aviation always upload Aviation videos is quick than me to upload it!! Well done!! 🙂🤩
Thanks for that great flight report, Felix ! Aer Lingus seems to be worth trying ; hope I'll fly in one of its birds some day 🙂
Me,too !! Been contemplating for a while now ! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇮🇪💞
Everytime Simply Aviation uploads it makes my day better!
Great video, man, very entertaining. And also I know it's not new at all, but I gotta say the opening sequence looks so cool!
I’ve flown the Hartford and Boston routes on the A321 many times and the 757 before that. It’s such a short flight and the crew are always amazing.
That's good to know !! I bet they were/ are !! Irish people are very friendly !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
I went on this from Shannon to Boston in July.it was quite comfortable the biggest problem was well was the queue to the bathroom was long
That's my problem with single aisle long flights.
Oh no ! Lol. 😅💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇮🇪💞
You shouldn't have had so many pints of Guinness in the bar in Shannon!
I love your videos! Thanks for the content!
Love the Father Ted reference at 14:31!!
Love the Father Ted reference on the cup.
“Ah, go on…..” is a very familiar phrase in Ireland. In fact you are a very poor host if you don’t pressure your guest to have a cup of tea!
Thank you so much for doing my national airline long haul!!!🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Just booked the Cleveland-Dublin nonstop for end of August. Flying narrowbody on a 7+ hour flight is certainly not my first choice, however, it being a 15 min drive to the airport from where I live is a serious bonus…and no layover. Less we forget, 50 years ago, fly a narrowbody 707 or DC-8 was the norm…with no IFE or Wi-Fi. I think as a people, we have become spoiled. Looking so forward to this.
Thank you for sharing your flight here from back in the summer in June.
Was there Premium Economy on this arrow body flight? Those long-haul flights you need the space and more to relax.
The Business Class seating looks very nice. i know that by me being a tall guy over 6'0", I know that I would go to Business Class on the narrow body crossing the Atlantic. But as you showed the cabin set up, as a second selection the first rows there in Economy Class look like they have the space for you to stretch legs! Again, I thank for sharing you flight.
Nice with you noticing Teterboro Airport is that other busy general aviation airport. The corporate jets look so nice fly there.
As an Irishman
I would like to thank you sooooo much for reviewing my national airline.
What happened with that video on the A330 from Malaga to Dublin back in 16
Haha, you remember that? I took that video down years ago because I completely misstated the flight time and some other facts in it.

They are building a new and bigger terminal are they almost completed or not really? They also need to build another runway.

I really like this new design...that blue green / light green clover 🍀 together makes it so much prettier !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️🇮🇪💞
1:37 That departure hall is similar to the one in Manchester UK terminal 3 - even the circular 'atrium' - so tiny and they've packed pubs and a duty free in the space too.
Stunning old fashion Departure concourse
Thank you so much for making an effort and getting our language spot on!
Flew Dublin to Toronto on A321LR recently and it was very enjoyable. I thought it would be like a tin of sardines
9:19 Cabin announcement sound like David. XD
I just realized i flew into dublin that same day from Charlotte! You landed 3 minutes after us. Too bad i missed you i love your videos!
At JFK, however, Aer Lingus uses one of the BEST terminals in North America: the JetBlue Terminal.
Hi, I like your trip reports!
Maybe you could fly from KSF one day, for example with Sundair or Corendon?
Very good video thanks!
Can you tell me, if Alcohol is included?
Or just non alcoholic?
I love Aer Lingus and with US Immigration at DUB it makes transatlantic so much easier
We flew on an Aer Lingus A321LR from Toronto to Dublin in May. It was a very comfortable flight. We enjoyed everything about the flight, We were supposed to catch a connector to Dusseldorf but we were delayed departing from Toronto for over two hours. We missed the flight and had to wait 11 hours for the next flight to Dusseldorf However, we really like Aer Lingus and plan to book with them again for next spring

@@spark_6710 aer Lingus is not Irish owned 👍
Which country is that? Aer Lingus is a foreign airline, it is no Irish at all, all the paddywhackery and diddley dye crap that make it look Irish is there to fool people. Thanks to FF/FG they sold this airline to foreign owner IAG in 2015.
Cool Video! The best aviation channel!
Love the Mrs Doyle messaging on the tea cup 😂😊
Aer Lingus' new livery is quite nice. Dublin is my favorite airport in Europe, clean, easy to navigate, uncomplicate, and has a U.S pre-clearance facility, which is extremely convenient for connecting flights to and from the U.S.
That breakfast was actually an upgrade on what I had travelling with them from JFK to DUB 7 years ago - all we got was a cup of OJ. 😂
When you think about it's really just an extension of a domestic fight. When you arrive in Newark (Or any other US airport) you simply pick up your bag and leave like you would when flying within US borders. All the customs and passport checks are done by the US Customs and border control agents in Ireland so you don't have to go through all that process again when you arrive stateside. It makes life very easy when flying to very busy airports like Chicago or New York. As a US citizen I love it when the passport control officer says "Welcome Home" after he/she checks my passport even though I'm still in an Irish airport (Once you go through passport control you're, for the purposes of the flight, unofficially on US soil) Oh and In Dublin there's a separate lane at passport control for US citizens so you can get through the process a little quicker.. Enjoy your flight..
Substantial veggie meal! Love it. And the standard meal... Doesn't bode well to present with the cover... Like it's a reheated frozen meal
David/Felix i noticed you started outting your height in when you do the legroom. I can not thank you enough for that. It may not seem that big of a deal but as a tall person (i think Alex is the only youtube flight reviewer taller than i am) that is really all i care about. How much legroom do euro carriers have. This helps me narrow my airlines to search. I am simple basic minded (although i never buy basic economy. Usually delta main cabin or every airlines equivalent). I do not care if they serve food, drink or if the have IFE, nothing like that. Only 2 things i care about when i fly. The legroom and is the crew professional, nice and poliet.
Thank you for flying with Aer Lingus Felix. Fáilte go h'Éirinn ☘

Hello, Ireland 🇮🇪 from USA 🇺🇸
Very nice. Thanks for uploading.
Effortless flying! Great video. Your meal looked a winner! Preferred the old Aer Lingus livery of green on top. Always reminded me of Ireland. Why change a winning livery?
White paint is MUCH cheaper ...
Man i wish Aer Lingus would come to Billund. But Hamburg Is only 2 hours and 30 minutes from my doorstep. I prefer Hamburg to Copenhagen due to the toll bridge.
But the 2 hours save at pre-clearance I will consider It
Lovely, vidéo. Thanks for sharing! 🇮🇪✈️☘️
Wow that’s first for me to to see A321lr and 737max can do cross Atlantic , thanks for that information , awesome viewing thou
What a beautiful cabin!
Now that was a very good landing, the catering seemed reasonable were wines and other a alcoholic drinks offered free of charge ? as would be the case with British Airways who are also part of the IAG group.
Thanks for this. We'll be doing a family vacation in Ireland in September. Not sure if we'll fly Aer Lingus or United, as my home airport is Newark. As of now, Aer Lingus looks to be cheaper, but as seen here, that flight arrives in Dublin at 5:00 am. The United flights arrive later in the day.
That was a butter landing! A dinner and a small breakfast were very good for a flight under 6 hours.
I cant get enough of that intro music. Keep it as your flagship theme 🎉🎉
The fog at dublin looks cool

How did you get the route map?
Very interesting, thank you!!
Years ago in 2002 I travelled from Manchester UK to the Dominican Republic on an Airbus 321-300 with Thomas cook, I remember thinking I was on the wrong flight lol, usually an A330 or 747, or A 767 when ive been across the Atlantic before.

Long ago I flew from Chicago to Edinburg on a 757. It was a great flight and well worth not having to da layover. Hopefully Delta gets this plane flying out of Minneapolis my current location. It’s slim pickings for nonstop international flights.

It might just be me but i honestly love that terminal. it's so quiet and cozy, i dont really know how to describe it lol. the last time i was in it was 2019 though so i can't comment on whatg it's like today. when i was there an alarm went off and i honestly nearly shat myself 😂
I did Manchester to JFK and back in May with AL, was not expecting much but it was a really good quality flight experience, £321 return was a bargain too :)
How far in advance did you book this? Were security checks to NY as bad as people say they are? Thanks.
You should see CLE airport. Dark, crowded, no moving sidewalk. etc. They talk of redoing the whole thing for about 3+B $. An entire concourse is totally empty as United pulled its hub a few yrs. ago. The airport here mostly caters to the crowd going to FL & Vegas on Spirit, Allegiant or Frontier.
Dass war sehr schön das Video
Very interesting to operate a trans-atlantic flight with a narrow-body A321neoLR. I guess it,s the future of long-haul travel. Allready JetBlue is operating such a flight from JFK to LHR. Using an A320neoLR too. Hopefully you,ve deeply enjoyed your flight and the space onboard was comfy.
United and previously Continental have flown B757 transatlantic for many years to "regional" airports such as Newark to Edinburgh. Great for short non-stop flight time, just a poor experience with cabin crew and late flights.
Super quality video. Must be 4K. Or I am on my TV. The take off shot is amazing quality
I was at Newark a few months ago and the airport really is SHOCKING, they need to renovate like ASAP🤣
Pre security is fine along with the United terminal but anything else is eh
I flew Aer Lingus the first time a little over a year ago from SFO. The flight was approximately 10-11 hrs. Dinner was served shortly after takeoff. 30 mins before landing, we got our breakfast (which I thought we wouldn’t be getting as we were about to land). It was very light, it was some sort of a “hot pocket”, kinda disappointing. Also, on my way back to SFO, they somehow lost my luggage, got it back after a week, another disappointment.
