Good topic and great points overall made by Casillas. I was a little puzzled with him being a guest, but he did good and hit on some very important points. Will Schoen and Daboll be afforded the time to turn this around. I think they will be but you just never know. The point he made about the chemistry is also fact. It's gone in NY. We don't know who we are. It's sad, but I will remain a loyal fan!
I really enjoy hearing from Jonathan, he's smart and he is as straightforward as possible. I hope this is it for Schoen/Daboll before they draft a young QB and destroy him. I think they've been here long enough to develop talent and show an upward trend of winning even with Jones as QB.
The shellacking they received in the season opener versus Dallas and Daboll’s decision to keep Daniel Jones in there was when the wheels fell off. He was on the chopping block (for me) after that stunt.
I'm working with a new soundboard mixer so I have to use the headphones to hear the guest. Just have to figure out the right settings to up the audio quality. I'll get there.
Patti NO JONES DIDNT LOOK SO GOOD IN 22. HE WAD MID CARRIED BY BARKLEY EVERY GAME ACTUALLY HIS ENTIRE CAREER TIL THIS YEAR. A QB THAT STRUGGLE PAST 21 POINTS AND CANT SCORE.
2022 Jones was good in Colts game and playoff Vikings game. And Schoen paid Jones like he could play every game like those games. And he was only able to play like that again in 2nd half of Cardinals and Seattle game. I like how Casullas broke it down.
I just want to be able to be into watching the game past Halloween for a change. Instead of playing a game on my computer with the Giant game on in the background, if on at all, for 65% of the season. Where things went wrong? Schoen can't evaluate talent. And is good at saving money but not what he spends the money on. Dabol takes no chances other than 4th down stuff and he tries to be tricky in key situations and that never works for him. And I just can't get over not having a backup kicker dressed in that game early in the season. Thats was almost criminal not to have done that. I also get the feeling he is hard to work with for the other coaches. I think they should both be gone because Schoen seems overmatched by other Gm's and our roster is somehow much worse than it was 3 years ago. And Dabol has sown me nothing as a head coach. He is supposed to be a QB guru, yet every QB we have since him has gotten worse. And Mara, please stop interfering with your Gm's and let them run the team they way they want.
As insightful as this interview was, I still think Saquon was going to leave regardless . He realized he was never going to reach his potential by staying with the Giants. This doesn’t excuse some of the other mistakes made along the way. There are too many a list here. The biggest mistake the Giants can make this off-season is to keep Schoen and fire Daboll or vice versa.
Mara is a lousy owner Planes flying overhead, fans with signs and bags over their head mean nothing to him It’ ll be more of the same comedy for years to come Only if fans STOP buying season tickets will he wake up but who knows for sure at this point Bad franchise now
I’m not arguing that Daniel Jones is a starting QB, that’s besides the point. However, I do laugh at the stat vultures who say, ‘15 touchdowns!’ to discredit his ‘22 campaign while omitting the rushing TDs and joke of a support staff at WR/TE.
5 out of 6 years, Jones sucked. 1 "decent" season does not cut it. The Giants gave him a monster contract for a guy who was a turnover machine and couldn't stay healthy. How many underthrows or over throws. How many open receivers he didn't throw to?
If you take his '22 season stats and compare them with all the other starting QB's from '22, he's middle of the pack and average at best that year. DJ fanatics love to overhype that season for him 😏
@ the point went way over your head. I’m not arguing if he’s good, that was established over six seasons. My point is, if you’re going to discredit that season - you better mention the lackluster supporting cast. More than one thing can be true at a time…Jones isn’t a starting QB and the Giants ‘playmakers’ were garbage. Let me know the next time you see Isaiah Hodgins or Rich James play meaningful snaps from here on out.
@@jefffuller9918 That has nothing to do with the point I made. I understand the animosity towards Jones but if you're an unbiased fan, it's quite obvious that the failures don't stop at him. He was throwing passes to Richie James, Isaiah Hodgins and Darius Slayton. That in itself is a joke.
Joe S. is responsible for this mess, he's the one who made all the personal decisions, that have backfired. Daboll can only coach with what he's given.
You don't hand over one of the most highly valued franchises in the NFL to first-time head coaches and GMs. Let first-timers develop in smaller markets, not here. Get Schoen and Daboll out of here and bring in veteran leadership and coaching.
It went wrong the moment we hired a pompous GM and an overrated offensive coordinator both of whom built their careers on the back of Josh Allen to lead the team.
3:33 sums it up perfectly. It's sad that this is the only time anyone has ever said it out loud.
Thank you Patty!
Let’s hope for better days ahead!
Excellent interview
These 2 pods have been excellent. Great questions and very insightful answers . Nearly perfect.

Finally the Truth. Thanks Jonathan Casilla’s the truth.
Best interview ever! Thank you so much!

Great show Patti, JC was awesome. Losing SB for nothing is DISGRACEFUL, he was our leader and Captain.
Thanks Patti!
@28:34 hopefully, Joe hears this
need another stout tall defensive tackle before CB

Love the videos but please ditch the headphones. It causes a reverb in the audio and a slight echo.

To quote Mickey Rivers in 1967, they need "A Whole New Everything".

I was trying to be polite.

You have to win first. What good is a rah rah culture guy on the sidelines if you're down 38-3 late
Facts Danny is a hard worker. He’s not yet a NFL starting QB. Joe should have traded him or cut him after playoff win.
#1 - Picking Evan Neal when we could have gotten Nick Bosa or Micah Parsons.
What are you talking about? Nick Bosa was drafted in 2019 and Micah Parson was drafted in 2021. Neal was drafted in 2022.
Slayton? I wish there is a stat for drops his whole career.
Slayton 28drops 6yr career. 2023 3drops, 2024 4drops.
@Thagomizer-U235 Thank you.
Note: they are tanking in order to get a good QB prospect. Clearly Mara is on board with this corse of action.
Schoen and Daboll will be back.
Mara is clueless. I bet tree stumps are smarter.
Not trading Barkley was just bad business it's even worse than paying Dimes just awful
Mara is a lousy owner

@Chalk89 7TDs 708yd rushing still leaves Jones mediocre 3913yds, 22TDs, 11Turnovers.

Funny, but they did that with George Young and Bill Parcells and that worked out okay as I recall.
It went wrong the moment we hired a pompous GM and an overrated offensive coordinator both of whom built their careers on the back of Josh Allen to lead the team.
The Giants are determined to make the offensi the bread and butter and takes away from our identity, this is a lost organization
With the exception of the fluke season in 2022, things have not gone right since 2016( another fluke season?).
