It was already a unique building prior, having been a very old school Walmart, and being smaller in size. Now, it's once again another unique big box store, being a rare Family Dollar/Dollar Tree that's blended together, no walls or anything separating each stores merchandise. And you're right, this essentially became a new Walmart, given how similar many of the products are and an emphasis on low prices. Gotta be cool to live near that building.
Hello BJV. I am glad to see that you are following Wallie's channel as well. For years, I have followed your channel and watched the videos you have done of vintage animated Halloween and Christmas decorations. It brings back many good memories because I collected items like that as a child, and I still do today.
That's wild, never thought those two would share a building. I guess Dollar General is really the main rival of Family Dollar, Tree is so cheap they have different stuff anyway.
I, have never seen a Dollar Tree/Family Dollar combination store in one building. In, Detroit, Michigan I used to seeing Dollar Tree and Family Dollar Stores across the street, or a half a mile or a mile apart from each other. Finding a Dollar Tree/Family Dollar Store is an excellent video.
This is why Wallie does these videos, finds a abandoned place and films it (WITH RESPECT!!!) and then it gets turned into a another business so it can help people. Kroger's prices have shot up a little bit but it's the only place near me that sells Cheerwine when it's in stock. I want to ask you this Wallie, when you visit North Carolina again, try and see if you can find Cheerwine and taste it if you haven't. It's heaven in a can or glass bottle or fountain because a Bojangles in Princeton WV sells it and it wasn't the best I've had of it but still good either way.
That's a really interesting combo of Family Dollar and Dollar Tree. I've personally never seen anything like that. I also didn't think that the old Walmart was going to get repurposed. Because you said it closed around 2007-2008ish and I think you filmed that video at the end of 2020 so I thought it was going to stay abandoned but it's nice that Family Dollar and Dollar Tree moved in. To see new life there and new businesses.
A really great video, Wallie and Kayla! It's really cool to see a Family Dollar Dollar Tree combo store. Thanks for the video enroute to Texas. Have a safe trip to Texas. Have a Family Dollar Dollar Tree Combolicious Day!
Corry, Pennsylvania, has a Family Dollar and Dollar Tree together. In there used to be a Sears Hometown Store, a Peebles, a Gordman's in the last 10 years.
That is pretty good. I'm glad it has been repurposed and creating new jobs. And yes that was a gecko. A leopard gecko. I have them all over my house. Will be seeing y'all soon.
@@WallieB26 as a general rule lizards can't climb glass or metal. Normally they have claws. Geckos have suction cup hands. Also lizards do climb but they need something to grab like bark of a tree. Geckos normally don't climb trees. Not smooth enough to suction onto.
I love your enthusiasm about the dollar stores. As you travel to your destination in Texas give us updates on fuel prices around the country . Safe travels.
Good video! Nice to see a former Walmart turned into something brand new! I have never seen a Family Dollar and a Dollar Tree store together! Nice! Was that the Gecko from the Geico commercial? You saw!
Excited because our family/ dollar tree combo is almost completed they are finishing the inside as we speak can't wait ..our little town here in KS needed some where to shop because the dollar tree was 40 minutes away to far now days with gas like it is. Glad they repurposed the old Walmart building. They have built ours from the ground up and it's going to be nice to be able to enjoy our new stores
This was pretty cool to see. Like many others have stated, I've never seen a combination Family Dollar/Dollar Tree store before. Make sense since Dollar Tree owns Family Dollar. I wonder if they'll open more like this.
Family Dollar Dollar Tree combo stores are fun to shop at. Most small towns that have an older Kroger store, if the town is failing, Kroger won't continue operating that Kroger and won't built another one. The Kroger in Sparta, Tennessee was an example that closed, along with several small towns in Illinois. Maybe with Dollar General expanding in rural America, Kroger thinks these rural areas for food deserts.
thank you for this. I have been out of town so I have not gotten to check out the Family Dollar/Dollar Tree that just opened in Parsons, TN in the old Fred's Super Dollar building. At least I know what to epect. After Fred's, Family Dollar put in for about a year and then they closed for about three months and became one of these combo stores. Kayla, its "Have a Family Dollar Tree licious Day!" so with that, have a Family Dollar Tree licious Day!
never seen two at the same building like this, awesome dollar store, you don't have to go very far there right in the same building lol, thanks Wallie for sharing.😎👍👍📸
I remember when this use to be Walmart when i was a little girl when I ise to live in Brinkley we use to Shop there wow such Memories how Cool to transform it into Dollar Tree and Family Dollar...
WallieB26, that's what Family Dollar is here Family Dollar/Dollar Tree. Wish you and Kayla could come back through Oklahoma on your way back to Pennsylvania. Really enjoyed your awesome video!
Wallie , I love the content you make! Like really, I always look forward to your videos. On another note, are you a Nate related? You guys have very similar laughs that always make me smile when I hear it! Drive safe!
The Lisbon, OH Family Dollar is moving into the former Sparkle Market. They are making it a Dollar Tree/Family Dollar combo. It actually opens this week.
I never seen a family dollar/dollar tree but they do have a family dollar and dollar tree right next to one another in philadelphia pa and in prices corner, delaware not next to each other i think its a business separating them.
I remember when you filmed this place when it was an abandoned walmart gotta say thats the first i ever seen a family dollar and dollar tree together pretty cool though glad that old walmart got repurposed
I work for Dollar Tree, it's not about being under staffed, it's not being given enough hrs to get the freight out. Not to mention Dollae Tree is one of the lowest paying employers there is. And their benefits suck!!!
It might be a little bit out of the way depending on the route you take, but you should check out the new Crossville, TN Buc-ee’s location on your way back home. The grand opening was today! It was my first time ever in a Buc-ee’s…and every video I’ve ever seen about them doesn’t do it justice. It’s truly a sight to behold in person! (There’s also a plethora of abandoned gas stations and other businesses off a good number of I-40 exits between Nashville and Crossville…ask me where, and I’ll give you a list!).
Also, the new Whataburger in Lebanon, TN is rumored to be opening the week of July 11th. It might time out perfectly where you’re driving through for yet another Tennessee Whataburger grand opening!
I have never seen a Dollar Tree and Family Dollar in the same store! Does it have two toy aisles? I bet it would be fun to hunt Hot Wheels there (if either store ever bothers to stock Hot Wheels).
4:35 Pineapple Crush yeah as a Newfoundlander Pineapple Crush is very common here and is supposed to be available in Newfoundland only Yep you guessed it Newfoundland is the only place where you can commonly find Pineapple Crush if you ever find Pineapple Crush anywhere else apart from Newfoundland GET IT IT IS A RARITY!!!!!! Because Pineapple Crush is only made and manufactured in Newfoundland I hope Wallie Replies and likes my comment but especially at a Dollar Tree getting such rare stuff for Cheap is a great deal at a Dollar Store so Wallie if you ever find it again get it because you might not be able to see it until you get to Newfoundland (if you ever go there) as Pineapple Crush is like I said Made and Manufactured in Newfoundland and is made to be sold and Distributed in Newfoundland only so I do not even know how Dollar Tree or Family Dollar was able to get it in
I _really_ hate the whole combo thing, I feel like they just need to pick one and stick with it. Maybe call it "Family Tree" or something. Both of those stores have completely different philosophies. Also Dollar Tree > Family Dollar. As a result, this is the most cluttered, disorganized DT I've seen in a while (since Family Dollar is notorious for that). Family Dollars are cluttered death traps that make you feel claustrophobic. FD has really brought DT downhill. I wish they would have merged with Dollar General instead, both of those stores are much more compatible.
Wait minute imagine they had dollar general and family dollars and dollar tree combined i had family dollars near me by frys in Phoenix it burn down to ground
Kayla said, “Be nice to the ones that show up.” Amen!!!
Great combo of stores. Thanks for filming 😊

This is extremely cool. I've never in my life seen such a thing as this. What a unique experience that must be seeing it in person.
im getting this in my town in our abandoned Sunmart building
Wow That is Actually Really Cool Find Wallie and Kayla. Never Been This Both Place Before so That's a Awesome Find.
What a one-of-a-kind store! I hope to visit it someday when my hubby and I travel south!

@@edwardsr70 but why have 2 stores instead of just one
@@tylershears6207 makes them more money than just one store
@@edwardsr70 it still doesn't make sense to have two stores in one building owned by the same people. That have almost exactly the same products
I am honestly glad that some of the abandoned places you filmed got new life.

Nice. I'm not used to seeing these little critters up north like this. So I never know if it's a gecko or lizard.

In Wink Texas they put a dollar tree inside of a family dollar and in Monahans Texas they opened a family dollar dollar tree combo
Good video! Nice to see a former Walmart turned into something brand new! I have never seen a Family Dollar and a Dollar Tree store together! Nice! Was that the Gecko from the Geico commercial? You saw!
The best way to describe that place, "Dollar Store-Ception"! That place is something.

Weird but cool video. Good video wallie
Kroger closed because of underperformance.
They've been closing a lot of underperforming stores.
Some areas and different states the older Kroger got by a new one with online shopping

Explore the abandoned wilson mall and other buildings beside it and there I a way to get in by the sears
Should do a vid of this food giant if ya haven't already, We just got a family dollar tree store near us in Forest City Iowa
Sorry I'm behind on your Vlogs, I'm in the OUTERBANKS, see above link, yes they are working on the old Kmart, now a Target.
That is an interesting combo thanks for sharing Wallie 👍😊
Hi 👋
I have a local one just 5 minutes from me it’s in Zumbrota Minnesota!
I never see a store combo like that I like it
Interesting! I've heard of these before but never seen one in person. Great video!
Fresh shave smells awesome!
hey wallieb26 glad this place has new life in it and at least it's not left to rot away like any old Kmart stores that you have filmed
Exactly, hoping Target will open in the old Kmart here like they're doing in other towns.
Wallie , I love the content you make! Like really, I always look forward to your videos. On another note, are you a Nate related? You guys have very similar laughs that always make me smile when I hear it! Drive safe!

So glad that you could capture that gem of a Walmart before it was lost to history
I have seen alot of Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree stores being put in everywhere.
It reminds me of those KFC/Taco Bell/Pizza Hut combo restaurants...
Wow. Now you can actually go inside of it. Things have changed in there quite a bit.
My man all ways giving the PIBB a shout out I love it
I have never seen a family dollar/dollar tree in person but it would be cool to go to one
My mother worked at that former Walmart for 25 years. And as a teenager I worked at the Kroger that used to be next door.
There is a Family Tree/Dollar Tree Store in or near Knox City, Tx
I work for Dollar Tree, it's not about being under staffed, it's not being given enough hrs to get the freight out. Not to mention Dollae Tree is one of the lowest paying employers there is. And their benefits suck!!!

The one in Brinkley (this one) does have two toy aisles! It throws me off every time I go in there 😂
The Giant must be a local business and if I we’re said local I’d shop there😊
I like this idea. Hopefully we will get one some day.
I need one of these In my life!
Wish we would get a DG market !! Guess they are only back east & I wish we had Ollie's too lol
The ones with ceiling panels were originally Walmart Discount Stores
Awesome video
Don’t forget Bucees in Crossville Tn if you take I40. Just opened today 👍👍.
We need a Bucees in Arkansas!👍
We live in Little Rock, there are several Edward's Food Giants and the prices ARE higher also all of our Fred's have closed
Hey.
Never saw one like it, in my town our family dollar went out of business about a couple months ago but we still have dollar tree.
9:32 That’s the stockroom for Family Dollar
Walmart was my favorite supermarket but I changed it to Kmart a few months ago
Handicap parking spots are only legal if it's posted with a sign.
Good night have a great vacation
This must have still costed a good amount of money to turn into this
If you come to the Denton Buc-ee's, please let me know. I live about less than 5 minutes from that location!
I'm wondering why our state don't have family Dollar or dollar tree in Honolulu, Hawaii
2 good stores in one place 😀

Pineapple Fanta is good (I think it is)
I hope this comes to Illinois pretty soon!
Like Hannah Montana, this store is the best of both worlds!
Family Dollar is always understaffed
R.I.P. Walmart.
They just opened one of these by me and it was an old rite aid
is this the same former Walmart you guys went into and you went upstairs and you saw some kind of dead animal put here?
Yes, this was that same building.
Kroger closed many of their stores last year, in Arkansas. There are a few that are still open, but they are few I believe
We lost our Kroger-s in the same way Kayla mentioned. I think the pricing thing people are complaining about is just timing-all prices are up.

Now Bayville NJ Has Familly Dollar/Dollar Tree Combo right?
How come they didn't use the whole Walmart
Hmmm...wouldn't that cause confusion at the check out? I guess not if the scanner does what it's supposed to. Thanks W&K.
Wait minute imagine they had dollar general and family dollars and dollar tree combined i had family dollars near me by frys in Phoenix it burn down to ground
I've seen one like this before in tupper lake NY
wallie I have take Sunkist pineapple drink it not good
