  • Abandoned Arby's - Saginaw, TX. In this video we take a look at this rather odd design for an Arby's. I haven't personally seen another one that looks like this one. We also take note of the nearby restaurants and their designs and how they compare to today's standard shoebox design.

Great video, Wallie! ❤ In fact, there is an Arby's restaurant between Lufkin and Nacogdoches in the small community of Redland in Texas! It is located inside a Love's truckstop. There is also a gift shop located inside that restaurant! I have been there twice 3 or 4 years ago. I ate at Arby's and shopped at that gift store! I loved it! ❤ I enjoyed watching your video! Thank you so much!

It's been ages since I've been to an Arby's. I know where one or two are in my area, but one's in a part of town I don't often go to any more and the other's hard to get into and out of, at least in my opinion. And as for the modern look of most of these fast food places, I might have said this before, but as someone who works in one, they look like shoe boxes, and it's like working in one, too. Hardly any room for anything inside.

Lisa's chicken is actually a pretty good place. I wouldn't get the sea food but their chicken is spot on. also they usually take up anything abandoned. Lisa's Chicken is really good and I go to the one near me often and they very popular around here. The one you are trying to think of is on I-30 and Oakland in Fort Worth near the CBS TV station. Never been to that one, but yes it is in not the best area of town, but many of them are. Next time you are out here you should try it, there is a really nice one in south Hurst on Bedford-Euless that is only a few years old. That one used to be a Dairy Queen decades ago and they use old closed fast food places likely because it is cheaper to build them out. There is also another Lisa's in Hurst on Pipeline and that used to be an Arby's with one of the original signs.

Hi Wally and Kayla I have an abandoned Arby's in my town too. I think it turned into chilitos or something it was some mom and pop store that never made it and sailed right away after it opened. Speaking of businesses turning into other businesses we have a couple of those where I live I think it's getting popular in 2021 beyond businesses just don't want to build their own business anymore so they're going to come in and take abandoned businesses. If the roof is in great shape why not take it got to drive through you want to drive through for your store why not take it. Examples are McDonald's in the village of Liverpool where I live turn down village Burger because the guy I wanted to move back home where his family was out of state and didn't want to run the restaurant anymore Burger King becoming a Mexican restaurant another McDonald's being torn down and turned into a giant Church bruegger's bagels becoming KFC. And my Arby's becoming I think chilitos or something some mom and pop foreign restaurant I've never heard of.

The arbys I worked at opened in 1968, was told it was nearly the 50th store by some higher ups. It was run down much like the area it was in, sadly it was slated to close and has recently shutdown, mainly due to poor sales, outdated design that hasn't had a renovation since the early 90s, and crime. Fun times were had there, I loved the casino like arbys hat logo that lit up at night. Dont know it's future atm, it may sit abandoned for years to come since despite efforts to clean up the area, the presence of section 8 housing and low property values kinda don't help much. Still there may be hope, just 5 years ago the area looked like it was apart of an inner city of a 3rd world country, now it looks alot more pleasing to the eye.(also down the street sits an abandoned OG taco bell from the 60s as wellz Still standing too!) It not being too far from one of the sharpest declining malls with rich history makes for a nice detour when u come to texas)
