- Abandoned Burger King - Mount Vernon, TX. Enjoy some look at this rather modern location for the chain. I'm surprised at how long this place has been closed given its location right off of a major interstate and with little competition in that spot. Anyway, after wanting to check it out for awhile, I finally had the opportunity to stop and get a video of this BK. Enjoy.

As they say, don't be a litter bug! I will say, quite rare to see the shoe boxes abandoned!
I lived in Mt Vernon Tx for 7yrs, the town is dieing because the older residents don't want changes to there way of life! So the only thing left is a Brookshire grocery!
Actually an ex nba player moved here and had been rebuilding the town...the square now has several restaurants...as i type this I can hear a live band playing which is every weekend
I worked for burger 🍔 king 🤴 when I was younger I worked broiler I also heated all the buns
I'm in Austin, it is pretty crazy here how many fast food places are closing down due to lack of staff. Nearly downtown, the McDonalds closest to me has been closed for 4 months, another chain FF place is only open 8 hours a day. And my favorite In-and-out has had signs up for over a year hiring at 16-18 per hour.
That burger kings inside looks identical to the one in long Beach CA on Pacific Ave near downtown. It was remodeled in 2018 I want to say, nearly the same design.

It's been closed down for a couple of years now.
The one in Talco is REALLY old
As someone who lives in mount Vernon, you wouldn’t have wanted to eat there when it was open. It was always stale and the employees were super rude.
Can't have it your way anymore. Those days are looong gone.
I remember there was no Burger King back in the day in the 90‘s especially in Mt. Vernon, TX. I grew up in Mt. Pleasant, TX majority of my life. Left in 1996.
That's how I feel leaving Ohio and Maryland. But I've lived in Pennsylvania my whole life, so to me, coming back home is good too. Super video!

Wow, that's rare to see a modern style building abandoned. By the way, I got a mall for you to film Wallie. Film Southern Park Mall in Boardman, Ohio, they've been going downhill since the loss of Sears and Dillards. I bet you're probably madder than heck too Wallie because our Steelers lost again last night.

I know of at least 3 bks that shut down in my area. Spirit Lake, Spencer, and Storm Lake. All owned by the same franchise

We have abandoned burger king in Janesville, Wisconsin. It closed either end of 2014 or being of 2015.
I noticed more people litter in the DFW/metropoles area than any where else in Texas
Here in Shreveport la they closed Burger King and McDonald’s down right next to each other but the BK is modern tho but closed

My friends used to work there and I had lunch there at least twice a week as a high school senior in ‘01-‘02. Peak have it your way days. Whopper with grilled jalapeños, onions, cheese and bbq sauce. The Golden Chick just took over and haven’t tried them yet. The Queen (Dairy Queen) in MV always beat the King.

That's what Kayla's parents said. It finally began raining in late August at their house. It was nice to see photos they sent us of the grass and other vegetation being green again.

Lewisville is on my to-do list. I thought we would have had time during our summer trip but we simply did not. Perhaps during the winter trip.

I had no idea that Burger King had closed. Shows how much I get back to Mount Vernon lol. Creepy little town. Every time I drive through it it looks and feels deserted. The old timers there must still be fighting changes (upgrades) tooth and nail. It's on the interstate. It could be thriving much more than it is..

At the Shreveport LA abandoned Burger King it has same new version idk why it closed. new look That one in mention Shreveport LA closed 2020 I think idk. After that there Abandoned McDonald’s next and it closed recently 2022
You wanna try to get into an abandoned place? There is the school in the middle of that same town that now is used to store airplane parts with (apparently) bullet holes and gun shell casing in them.
I wonder why they remodeled it, only to close shortly later.

You may have found a clue at the beginning of your video. The black stuff may have been black mold and there may have been more than you were able to see and that's why they vacated the location.

Just an update on this location, its now been remodeled and reopened as a Golden Chick resturaunt. The BK closing a few years ago was both sudden, and unexpected, even the employees there didn't know it was coming (was friends with the one manager at the time it closed)
This goes to a different video. Anyway, that earthquake in Shreveport the weekend before Thanksgiving is on my mind. I got up to close the living room window, it had gotten suddenly cold. I started back to the dining table and everything my eyes saw was upside down. I fell to my knees, bruised both knees. My head hit the floor, like my feet were in the air. My shoulder was bruised from my " jacket strap" pulling from the impact. I keep an outdoor statue of the Virgin Mary, a Louisiana thing for front yard (but my neighbors don't know the Virgin Mary if you understand), she's in the living room. I landed at her feet, head first. Yep, it was just an earthquake in Shreveport. I took pictures of the bruises.

No, I actually purchased that painting at Buc-ee's in Denton. I showed it in the video I did! The person who did paint it did a wonderful job!
