I agree, it depends on the rider. From my experience, if you have throttle/self control, you should be just fine on a 600cc sports bike. In my opinion Superbike accelerate way too high in the rpms to be crazy on accident. By the time my fz6 really gets going in 3-4th gear I'm already going above most speed limits. So they won't be wild unless you do wild things
Thank you man! I like that, "they won't be wild unless you do wild things". It's true, a bike will only go as fast as your right wrist makes it! Ride safe out here!

I'm 17 and I hope to take my MSF course at some point this summer. The very little riding experience I have is actually on a 2002 Yamaha R1. My neighbor knew I had an interest in riding and he kindly offered to teach me on it. I learned the basics of throttle control, clutch control (I applied some of my knowledge from driving manual cars to further aid myself), braking and some low speed maneuvering from him. I'm so glad I came across this video because I was going back and forth about what I buy once I can legally own my own bike. I'm a bigger rider (6'5" 280) so I figured a 600 would be ok to start on. The R1s ergonomics weren't terrible for me ironically and I assume the 600s are probably similar. This has definitely helped me a lot. You've got a new subscriber for sure. (sorry for the long comment haha)
No worries man! You'd be surprised at how different the ergonomics are between manufacturers. When you're ready to buy, go to a dealership and sit on bikes. Most of the time they'll let you, and they'll hold the bike up so you can get both feet on. Without test riding, this is the best way to get a feel for the ergonomics. Goodluck!
Thats how it started, then I hit the track. Now I don't even ride a supersport on the street anymore. It got too boring after seeing what the bike can do😅
Master Yoshi, great video and love your talks and answers. 600 can be a good bike if you have self control, and yes lot less forgiving. I been riding a good while from childhood till now and just bought a new 2021 honda cbr 600rr. Love it. My girlfriend however with no bike experience i would start her off on a 300 or 400. Maybe a 650. Great videos and love your attitude and out look buddy. Keep it up and take care. Ps, counter steering is most definitely awesome, necessary and real....about 10mph and up is needed....below that direct steering is whats needed.
Thank you, Justin! I appreciate the kind words. Yeah I want my wife on something smaller too. I did a countersteering video a months after I made this video, check it out and tell me what you think! ruclips.net/video/YNPPLihE8mc/видео.html
Just bought 1 my first sport bike. I do however own a 98 banshee kfx 450r. Yamaha 426. Zero major accidents. I have a healthy respect for the machines as well as my human condition. I think I'll be ok. Thanks for the awesome videos my guy.
I just picked up a 04 cbr600rr with 16,000km, it's my first motorcycle. I'm 27, and when I was a teenager I had a little dirt bike like you did, I had a TTR 125L which I learned to ride on. Then when I was 20 I bought a standard Turbo Cobalt SS which I owned for 5 years. So I'm pretty comfortable on the 600 with my experience. I'm glad I started on a 600! Safe riding brothers
I want to buy this bike as my first but I’m not sure if Its a good idea. I’ve rode a dirt bike a few times and on the back of sports bikes countless times growing up but never rode by myself on a sport bike. I’m a skilled driver, I track race irl I own an Audi s4, I also sim race. But I don’t have my motorcycle license yet. Do you think the person testing me would be more bias because I’m new with a 600cc? Or Will the seller refuse the sale because it’s my first bike?
@@Master_Yoshi fair enough, my only issue is I’ll need a bike in general as I’m not doing any classes nor have someone else’s to borrow. I think I’ll end up just starting with a used r3 or whatever else I find cheap in that range, then use that for my exam on onwards. Once I’m warmed up I’ll go bigger.
I completely agree with your points. I have an R3 and love twisting that throttle, I'm the wrong to person to be riding a 600cc right out of the gate lol.
My first bike is a 04 600rr started riding about 2 months ago. Glad I picked it as my first bike in my opinion it has the perfect balance in terms of power, handling, and comfort while riding. With the linear power band it's easy to get a feel for the bike especially with how nimble it is you get the best of both worlds.
This video helped me a lot! i’m working on getting a bike and i’ve been on edge about what i should get. I have a dirt bike, and i don’t really push limits on anything, nor in my car. i Think i can pull off a 600
Great video man, im gonna start riding whenever the DMV opens up and I can get my permit. I am planning on getting a cbr600rr and have heard many different viewpoints on it. Im a bit nervous but I know with practice and time I can get to riding safely. What is your opinion on jackets and pants? Do you think its a good idea for a brand new rider to invest in specialized riding clothes? Thanks buddy
Thank you! Yes there are many different opinions on this, If you do decide to get the 600 just try to stay calm cool and collected while you practice. You are in control! As far as riding gear, yes, get the best gear you can afford. I need to upgrade mine, I should've saved up a little more instead getting my low budget gear. If I were to go down, it would definitely offer protection, but not as good as better gear would
From personally experience I graduated from a 125cc Honda dirtbike 6 years ago to a CBR600RR a couple weeks ago.No ML, no course, just bought the bike (Do not be me). I have to say it’s a very friendly bike if you have respect for it. It has a smooth take-off and only really throws the power down in the high RPMs. Haven’t taken it past 100 since I want to familiarize myself with the bike before I start doing anything crazy. Full gear also. If you can control yourself by all means, I have yet to have a problem on the bike and absolutely love it. If you know you can’t, and be honest with yourself, then do not.
Your chill demeanor earned you a newsubscriber I’m working on trading a vehicle for a cbr so hopefully I can give you a positive review on that experience as a new rider
Much appreciated, welcome to the channel! And when you get your bike, take your time, and be patient! If you can, take the MSF course before hand, that should give you at least a seat time before your purchase.
Thank you Jonathan! I really appreciate that, especially since I made that little instrumental lol. I'm no producer or anything, but I want my content to be original as possible, including the music! Thank you again! You've got to see some of my recent content and let me know how I'm doing!
Awesome video, still very informative and relative a year later. Searching for my first streetbike, I rode motorcross competitively at a young age so very familiar with a bikes clutch/manners. Thanks for the video!
Thank you man, much love! I think supersports are awesome, but after starting to do trackdays, I fell out of live with them in the street. Something more comfortable may bring more enjoyment like the mt-07, Ninja 650, or cb650r
Great video man, I just want to point out your hand positioning. It’s likely you’re fully gripping the the bike because you’re just cruising around town. But in the pull I did see in the intro, you had the same grip. When it’s safe, experiment resting your palms on the top of the grip and keep your index and middle finger of each hand on the clutch/brake levers. In an emergency scenario you don’t want to have to take time to reposition your hands and maybe miss your stopping window. Check out some videos of gp racers and check they’re positioning and maybe a video on proper hand placement. Super light and nimble with the hands like your holding a baby. You do good already by only using the 2 fingers , just kept it there and use the clutch to go from a stop ✌🏽
I appreciate the advice! I made this video a few years ago, and have now progressed to track riding and racing. I don't ride this bike on the street anymore, but I do have a harley for the streets. As far as keeping fingers on the brake lever, I truly believe there are multiple ways to do things, and there's not really right or wrong, but only right and wrong for the individual. Some folks like only braking with the middle finger, some use middle and ring, neither is wrong as it depends on the person. I do agree that you can apply the brake sooner with fingers already on the lever, but I also think it's easier to NOT roll off the throttle. Thanks for the advice though! I enjoy having discussions.
I feel you convinced me that a 600 is a good beginner bike. I would say I’m very coordinated and athletic, and I already know how a clutch works. Learned how to drive stick on my 1992 mustang GT. The same generation mustang you said was hard to drive. At least compared to a corvette. That kind of surprised me honestly. Mine has a short throw shifter, so maybe that made it easier, but working the clutch and being smooth is a lot easier on that mustang than my 2016 focus rs. Both I still have. So I’m thinking I’ll be pretty confident on a 600.
Very nice! I think you'll be okay too honestly. plus, I think a mc clutch is much easier to finesse than a car since here is more dexterity in hands than feet, usually. By easier I just felt the friction zone was much easier to find in that vette, than it was in the stang. It was as if when u started releasing the clutch, it would guide you to the friction zone, and not allow you to release too much clutch and stall out. the stang I drove on the other hand was like "you on your own boss, good look finding that friction zone"
IF YOUR PROFIECIENT already with clutch operation and do not have to think about changing gears or stalling etc, then this is a perfect bike to start on, becuase you will RESPECT and FEAR IT. tHIS IS A GOOD THING TO KEEP YO A## IN CHECK
Awesome logo Yosh! Man what a brand that could be. Do you have any t-shirts, hoodies, or hats to purchase? I would rock a Master Yoshi hoodie, hell yeah cuz.
I have lots of dirt bike experience so this might not be too fair but I recently bought a cbr600rr as my “first” street bike and honesty it wasn’t as crazy as evryones says in fact it was indeed easier to ride than a dirt bike. I fee like I’m gaining confidence faster on the cbr than I ever did on dirt bikes
I agree whole heartedly! Did u make it to the part where I talked about how wild my brothers 2 stroke was? I said essentially the same thing you're saying my man
Dude love this vibe man. I've riden all kinds of bikes coming up but when I got on the street I've only owned Harleys. Im lookin at a cbr 600 for my first super sport.

My bad my bad, I aint even see your channel before I said that lol. I'm dropping a first ride video on an 2014 mt09. After riding a naked, it kind of makes you second guess a super sport lol. I was really debating on rather or not to drop the setup video, I didnt want to give my secrets away because I kind of feel that my quality somewhat sets me apart. @@Master_Yoshi haha its all good yeh it changed my mind after i rode my mates gsxs1000 ronud a carpark but the reason i got the mt07 is cause i want a super aswell, if it was guna be my only bike i dont know if id go for the 07 after coming from a super cause ttheres not really any power after 70 mph but its so fun and so comfortable haha you will really enjoy riding that trust me such a fun bike so easy to ride
Haha I so recognize joyriding a supersport after owning a CR two stroke. I took my dad's ducati 748 when he wasn't at home, and I had a CR250 that I just took out on the streets. That CR250 was so much more dangerous and sketchy than that ducati. I was more tense on the Ducati though, but that was more due to the fact that I knew I would die if I'd wreck it.
Weird feeling right!? I remember thinking ok, this gsxr has waaaayyy more power, so let me be extra careful. But it was 10x easier to ride, minus the fear of being caught that is lol
I like sport bikes and cruisers but first I want to try out a cbr600 but I’ve never ridden a sport bike before I got on my friends gsx-R 750 and also so me being a short person 5’4 I couldn’t reach the floor with neither of my feet and I was told that hondas are the easiest to lower and me personally I like the honda more so what do you think should I try a cbr600 out or start with a 500cc ?
Just go and watch other RUclips videos. I've seen dudes going 60 in a 25 and total their little 250. It all depends on who you are. I've been searching and questioning for a long time, but I think I'm sold on a 600
u are so fucking chill dude i love this vibe thank for the vid ;) ^^ my first bike is a CBR 600RR 07 ^^ without ABS but i will learn it ;) its my first seasion this year ;)
It really does depend on the person... however, one wrong twist of the wrist while in a corner and it could spell for disaster for the beginner. Just saying “master yoshi” nice vid... thank you !
I'd encourage almost anyone to really consider getting a 650 (non supersport) before looking at a supersport bike. Ninja 650, Vulcan S, Z650, SV650. I learned on a Vulcan S and spent a year and a half loving it before I got bored and got a gsxr-750 and I know for a fact I got away with some things on that Vulcan that I never would have on the gsxr
No sir, just spent s little time there. Some of my older videos are actually in the Fayetteville area. I'm cautious to call it easy, because it depends on what your trying to do. Basic, safe riding to get from point A to B , sure. If you're trying to be fast and safe, there are a lot of small techniques and physics involved that can really complicate things.
I didn't know nothing about riding a bike. My first motorcycle was a Honda 2001 f4i it was silver and black. went down to the dealership picked up a bike I remember my cousin driving at home and they just taught me how to ride. The bike I have now is the 2020 Honda RR
@@Master_Yoshi 600 lol my fault I thought I put it in there....1000 are Nice it's too much for street bike on these roads. don't get me wrong maybe one day but idk. I just love the Honda's period
im 15, i have driven 5 automatic cars, 1 stick shift did that really well, very athletic 5'10" i have experience with dirtbikes clutch etc. so what do you think for me in the future to get a cbr 600rr when im a lil older?
I think you'll be fine on a 600. I'm guessing you play football. If that's the case, by the time you're ready, a 420lb motorcycle won't feel that heavy to you. I took my moms 600 out for a ride when I was 16 and it was a breeze! Just stay calm cool and collected
Learned to ride on a 750 honda nighthawk. I think as long as the bike is not something you can't keep ahead of just about anything could be a beginner bike.
so coming from someone who basically grew up on dirtbikes as someone who has proper clutch and throttle control, a cbr600 should be no problem for a starter bike? please let me know. i want to get into riding and looking to spend money on one BUT not looking to buy a bike and then get tired of it as soon as i learn to start riding?
@@Master_Yoshi i appreciate you for the response and thanks for informing me on everything i needed to know. Im making a move to florida soon and the weather is too good there to not have one ! Lol. 600 will definitely be my first.
I think imma get a 600, I just turned 18 and I drive a manual 4.6 2v mustang, yes it’s not the same but I already have a really good concept with power control and throttle response time and all, I’ll take my msf course first tho
Be honest with yourself in that course though my man! If you're struggling with one of those small displacement bikes, a 600 probably isn't wise until you atlest get more practice in. Really pay attention to how comfortable you are in that course. Are you nervous as hell? Or are you calm, cool and collected. If you do decide you can handle a 600, PRACTICE!
i ride a 500cc cruiser everyday since i dont have a car, but a friend of mines got in some trouble and i need to ride his cbr600 back to his house for his family. im little nervous but i should be fine, just ease on the throttle lol
@@Master_Yoshi mission complete, but i haaaate how loud his bike is, and i dont like how percise you have to be with the throttle. Maybe i was being too cautious 🤣
agree it really depends......been on dirt bikes my whole life, raced mx, gps, dezert and while never rode a streetbike am confident i could start on anything......had a CR500 2 stroke at 15 yrs old in riding dezert.......at 54 yrs now have no desire to stupid shit have mad respect for power of a machines......while street is different always done well athletically and mechanically..., thats my story but someone else can have completley opposite one....... motocross was shifting and braking over brutal friggen terrain, speeds werent as high but never were you sitting on smooth asphalt....constantly doing 5 things at once while bike is never really stable.....street is totally different and can bite back am sure.....these bikes have incredible power, respect that and use some maturity should be fine.....been itching for streetbike lately bad.
Voice reminds me of Barrack Obama... not only the way you sound, but the way your form your sentences and are literate and make jokes in between haha it’s nuts. I learned how to ride motorcycles by watching Barrack Obama on RUclips
I have never ridin a bike before, but I consider who I am and where I live. I am a very aware person can react very fast. Also, I live in Houston so I have to take the highway literally everywhere and on a 300cc or whatever it wouldn't really be safe because I wouldn't be able to accelerate or move in time in someone does so dumb shit.
You rode that dirtbike like a total newb , no shoulder check no mirror check , quick way to getting mowed down by a 2 ton + cage or worse truck.

Goodluck!
@@Master_Yoshi Thank you! I’ll be sure to do that once I’m ready!
I love how nice and relaxed you ride. Just cuz you on a sport bike don't mean u gotta bomb every corner and stuff. Stay safe bro ❤️
Thats how it started, then I hit the track. Now I don't even ride a supersport on the street anymore. It got too boring after seeing what the bike can do😅
You definitely deserve more subscribers and views
Much love, thank you bro!
CASH MONEY RECORDS TAKING OVER!!! 😂😂
😅😅
Watching and listening just gives you that smooth feeling like everyone is relaxed to the max. Vibe check on point 🙌🏻
Much love, thank you brotha!
2:25 that was an insane sync (voice + music)
Just bought 1 my first sport bike. I do however own a 98 banshee kfx 450r. Yamaha 426. Zero major accidents. I have a healthy respect for the machines as well as my human condition. I think I'll be ok. Thanks for the awesome videos my guy.
Yessir, you'll definitely be ok. Congrats on the new bike, and thanks for showing love!
Congrats on the new bike man! Safe riding to you too and thanks for the comment!
You in the shirt, yes you... go ahead and drop a like on the video for your boy lol.
I’m wearing a didasha, so no! 😏

@@Master_Yoshi 😂
I want to buy this bike as my first but I’m not sure if Its a good idea. I’ve rode a dirt bike a few times and on the back of sports bikes countless times growing up but never rode by myself on a sport bike. I’m a skilled driver, I track race irl I own an Audi s4, I also sim race. But I don’t have my motorcycle license yet. Do you think the person testing me would be more bias because I’m new with a 600cc? Or Will the seller refuse the sale because it’s my first bike?
I'd say get your license first before buying the bike. That way you can get some experience before deciding on what to get.
Everything FACTS bro!! Especially the “it’ll take you long to get good” That hit home for me 💯
Preciate it pimp! I wish you many years of safe riding and skill progression
Master Yoshi SAME!!
I completely agree with your points. I have an R3 and love twisting that throttle, I'm the wrong to person to be riding a 600cc right out of the gate lol.
At least you have the self awareness to know that about yourself! Thanks for the comment and ride safe my man!
Stay blessed don’t stay too stressed. I like that!
Yessir! welcome to the club!
This video helped me a lot! i’m working on getting a bike and i’ve been on edge about what i should get. I have a dirt bike, and i don’t really push limits on anything, nor in my car. i Think i can pull off a 600
I agree!
If I were to go down, it would definitely offer protection, but not as good as better gear would
@@Master_Yoshi awesome, thanks man
You do the same, good luck with getting your first bike!
Yes sir, thanks for sharing!
Your chill demeanor earned you a newsubscriber
I’m working on trading a vehicle for a cbr so hopefully I can give you a positive review on that experience as a new rider
Much appreciated, welcome to the channel! And when you get your bike, take your time, and be patient! If you can, take the MSF course before hand, that should give you at least a seat time before your purchase.
I loved this video I was hooked a minute in, amazing video and audio quality, love the music, love your vibe.
Thank you Jonathan! I really appreciate that, especially since I made that little instrumental lol. I'm no producer or anything, but I want my content to be original as possible, including the music! Thank you again! You've got to see some of my recent content and let me know how I'm doing!
Great content big homie.. Enjoyed your wisdom and knowledge
Much appreciated, thank you!
On second thought, I do sometimes keep the brake covered depending on where I'm at on the track😅
Just started figuring out how to ride my 2008 CBR600RR
Nice! Hope it's going well!
Killer video and very informative. Subscribed✔️. Keep up the chill vibes and great content man. You can blow up!
I feel you on that!
You got a new sub bro, love the energy and CBR 600 gang, I got a 2013.
Ayeee very nice! I updated my bodywork to the 2013+
Awesome logo Yosh! Man what a brand that could be. Do you have any t-shirts, hoodies, or hats to purchase? I would rock a Master Yoshi hoodie, hell yeah cuz.
Since my channel isn't that big yet, I herby set up a store, BUT I love my logo and have made some merch. Do you have an Instagram?
I have lots of dirt bike experience so this might not be too fair but I recently bought a cbr600rr as my “first” street bike and honesty it wasn’t as crazy as evryones says in fact it was indeed easier to ride than a dirt bike. I fee like I’m gaining confidence faster on the cbr than I ever did on dirt bikes
I agree whole heartedly! Did u make it to the part where I talked about how wild my brothers 2 stroke was? I said essentially the same thing you're saying my man
Yeah those two strokes are so raw and unpredictable complete opposite of 600s so smooth and refined
Dude love this vibe man. I've riden all kinds of bikes coming up but when I got on the street I've only owned Harleys. Im lookin at a cbr 600 for my first super sport.
I appreciate it! I need something else to hit the streets. I recently took my 600 to the track, and it was a whole different animal.
i don’t know about too many bikes but the crb600 has always caught my eye. i got my license 2 years ago but it might be another 2 years until i can finally afford one😢

My bad my bad, I aint even see your channel before I said that lol. I'm dropping a first ride video on an 2014 mt09. After riding a naked, it kind of makes you second guess a super sport lol. Hey Master Yoshi, what year is that beautiful 600rr?
This was a 2009 that I wrapped myself!
It sounds like you're rapping with that background music 🔥❤️
Nice one 👍
Thank you, Naveen!
I've been racing dirt bikes for awhile. I work at redline witch is a bike boat quad whatever dealer they got a new 2022 crb 600 thanks for the advice.
If you've been racing, I bet the 600rr will feel so smooth compared to what you're used to!
I'd recommend starting on something that you could get atleast one foot down. That way you have one less major thing to worry about
You got me dead at your Crf video bro. Keep them coming! Haha
😂😂😂😂 preciate it my man!
Great video ...looking between a cbr600rr or a Gixxer 600
Thanks! Good luck choosing!

Hey, I know this is an old video but I’ve been looking for a CBR600RR and I was wondering what year this one was? Thanks
2009
Just go and watch other RUclips videos. I've seen dudes going 60 in a 25 and total their little 250. It all depends on who you are. I've been searching and questioning for a long time, but I think I'm sold on a 600
Absolutely, the rider is the biggest variable in the equation. When are you going to get your bike?
Great video man it was calming
Thank you!
u are so fucking chill dude i love this vibe thank for the vid ;) ^^ my first bike is a CBR 600RR 07 ^^ without ABS but i will learn it ;) its my first seasion this year ;)
thanks man! hope it's gong well!
It really does depend on the person... however, one wrong twist of the wrist while in a corner and it could spell for disaster for the beginner. Just saying “master yoshi” nice vid... thank you !
Very true, thank for showing love!
You hit on the head. Coordination is the key and if you level headed and can pay attention you can ride anything.
Yes sir! thanks for the support
My first bike was a 600.and it was perfect
Nice!
Great break down n analogies
thank you!
Good point, they are also much more comfortable.
you from nc ? i took the msf course when i moved to fort bragg last year its so easy riding a bike lol
Nice! Which 2020 did you get?
@@Master_Yoshi 600 lol my fault I thought I put it in there....1000 are Nice it's too much for street bike on these roads. don't get me wrong maybe one day but idk. I just love the Honda's period
I feel you on that, 600s are fun enough for me too. I want the previous gen 1000, mostly for the aesthetics 😂
im 15, i have driven 5 automatic cars, 1 stick shift did that really well, very athletic 5'10" i have experience with dirtbikes clutch etc. so what do you think for me in the future to get a cbr 600rr when im a lil older?
I think you'll be fine on a 600. I'm guessing you play football. If that's the case, by the time you're ready, a 420lb motorcycle won't feel that heavy to you. I took my moms 600 out for a ride when I was 16 and it was a breeze! Just stay calm cool and collected
Learned to ride on a 750 honda nighthawk. I think as long as the bike is not something you can't keep ahead of just about anything could be a beginner bike.
Yessir! Thanks for commenting, and ride safe!
I will probably start on a 125cc or R3, never ridden a motorcycle so I want to learn the basics first then move up, CBR600RR 2008 model
Not a bad idea at all! do what you feel is best for you my man
so coming from someone who basically grew up on dirtbikes as someone who has proper clutch and throttle control, a cbr600 should be no problem for a starter bike? please let me know. i want to get into riding and looking to spend money on one BUT not looking to buy a bike and then get tired of it as soon as i learn to start riding?
Absolutely! Especially if you rode 2 strokes. A street bike is so much smoother and easier and my opinion. You'll be fine to start on a 600.

@ren-cm1hi Goodluck, and come back and let me know when you get it!
If you do decide you can handle a 600, PRACTICE!
i ride a 500cc cruiser everyday since i dont have a car, but a friend of mines got in some trouble and i need to ride his cbr600 back to his house for his family. im little nervous but i should be fine, just ease on the throttle lol
you'll be fine!

agree it really depends......been on dirt bikes my whole life, raced mx, gps, dezert and while never rode a streetbike am confident i could start on anything......had a CR500 2 stroke at 15 yrs old in riding dezert.......at 54 yrs now have no desire to stupid shit have mad respect for power of a machines......while street is different always done well athletically and mechanically..., thats my story but someone else can have completley opposite one.......
motocross was shifting and braking over brutal friggen terrain, speeds werent as high but never were you sitting on smooth asphalt....constantly doing 5 things at once while bike is never really stable.....street is totally different and can bite back am sure.....these bikes have incredible power, respect that and use some maturity should be fine.....been itching for streetbike lately bad.
