Kudos to you for remembering exactly where everything goes when you reassemble the bike. When I see bikes like this, it makes me think that some people buy them just so they can stick mostly useless junk on them like those LED's. The only smart addition was the sliders. Imaging if they had spent that time, money, and effort learning to just ride the thing. Great video.

@@HoustonPB32 It's mostly junk. And if you were referring to my bike it's an FJR; definitely not a cruiser. Now replaced by a CBR1000RR.

I’ve seen a lot of Motorcycle Restoration Channels….But I gotta tell you this was my first viewing of your content and I gotta say Sir!!! Your attention to detail your work ethic and methodical look over of all that was wrong was amazing!!! You could work on my motorcycle anytime and I’d be 100% confident you would do it right!!! I’ve seen other creators that just do the bare minimum to restore these beautiful machines but what you do is top notch ☝🏻and I couldn’t subscribe fast enough after completing this video, Awesome 👏🏻

Hi Rob, happy new year to you. I am truly amazed at how you transform these crashed bikes into something that looks as good as new. One small tip I would like to pass on concerns the battery posts. I have found several times over the years that when you connect things like heated grips and usb or phone charging sockets to the battery that sometimes the terminal bolts don't quite reach those square nuts. What I do is place a piece of high density foam rubber under the nuts which pushes them up into the top of the terminals. Simple idea which works.
Thank you! I have ran into that issue before, and if I cant get a longer battery terminal bolt, i'll do just that and take foam to push up the terminal nut, great tip!

Really enjoyed the rebuild video.
In my semi-retirement I've taken to do a few rehabs sort of like I used to do on old houses in my past career. I'm not a professional mechanic but love shop manuals and love reading them.
I'm fortunate to have assembled a good set of equipment but I have to say the used motorcycle lift the Missus found on Craigslist was a turning point. Getting down on the floor to do even routine stuff gets harder and harder, especially when you get north of 70. In love with that thing.
I'm glad to see Auctmarts is a good supplier of fairing kits. They came highly recommended by the parts manager at the Kawasaki dealer we visit.
I would be very curious to see the financials on the project, if you are okay with disclosing them (and could understand if you'd prefer not to).

Damn man you scored on that one, only cosmetic and some wiring damage, and some easy fix stuff, I’m glad the tank is actually under a plastic tank fairing cover on those bikes.

Very nice restoration. Never knew the complexity under the shrouds. My OCD is triggered by not cleaning some of the components prior to reinstalling.
I had a 2013 600RR HRC. I jet a friend of mine ride it back in Nov 2022. It was drizzling rain so I told him to take it easy. Apparently he thought easy meant trying to pass a car in a curve.. 4 broken ribs and a punctured lung + one beyond totaled CBR 600RR HRC. He's fine now, fully recovered and he now owns a 2007 GSXR. And i still miss my HRC.. Video and photos do not do those bikes justice.

Dude literally my favorite CBR 600RR so watching this built was so satifying if you get a chance to build a 600 post electronic features like around 2020 and up that would be very interesting to see, im assuming much harder with the electronics so i dont know if its even possible as a DIY build.

Just came across this channel and I'm glad I clicked on it. Absolutely beautiful resto. I've gotta 2001 CBR929RR, but I'm not sure if I should attempt a resto on it. The main issue is it's a Florida made bike and I live in Cali. Not sure I can even register it due to it not having a cat and some other smog equipment. If you don't mind me asking, how much did this resto run you back?

Next time try an eraser wheel on those wheel decals. Should make quick work of them compared to tediously heating them up and picking them off by hand.

never torque a front sprocket without the chain and trans in neutral if the chain is not on then put it on and wheel and use the rear wheel to hold tension if your pushing against the trasmission only in gear you can twist parts in the trans like gears shift forks DON'T DO THAT I put a piece of pipe through the rear wheel wrap in a towel or rags so it does not scratch wheel don't use grip glue neither pour alcohol in them push on real easy at that let dry if removing use compress. and blow air under them pull right off will just make it easier on you nice job great video
