- hey guys! I just want to let you guys know that I am a newbie when it comes to all of this! SO if you have any suggestions or tips that would be absolutely amazing! I am a very frugal person so this might not seem like a big purchase to some but it is a giant step for me after wanting one of these for so long! This isn't really a review due to the fact that I don't know too much about apple. I also need to get use to the apple interface because holy crap it was definitely a learning curve! I'm finally an appler!!!

i'm sure someone out there probably suggested this to you but if you want the screen texture to be a little easier to draw on (because drawing on glass is a bit slippery) get a cheap matte screen protector! some people really like the paperlike screen protectors but they do wear down your apple pencil tip, so i like getting the cheaper option by going with just a regular matte screen protector. good luck with your digital art adventure! i can't wait to see what you get up to

OMG I clicked so fast! You know it's funny because I do digital art usually and I just switched to oil pastels because of your channel. Me too I was clueless at first, and still has a lot to learn. But it's so much fun. I haven't thrived so much with my art in a long time. So thank you, and have fun figuring out digital art. I think once you understand the layers and the undo capabilities, you'll find it very freeing, because you can basically always go back when you make a mistake. Thank you for your honest and for real Commentary. I have seen some folks who act like they know what they are talking about but say things like this one os red and that one is blue. Shut up! We are more like you who feel helpless when we open the fancy. Box and have to figure out how to turn it on and everything. I was once so overwhelmed by a new computer (before you were born) that i went and sharpened pencils to get my confidence up. Cant wait to see what you do with it.
Good luck with the IPad! Before I went to film school, I worked in desktop publishing using windows computers. Since then I have totally become a "Mac" user. In school we did everything on Macs and it made me appreciate the hardware and all the software you could run on them. However, I haven't ventured into Mac "iPad" territory yet. I have an android pad but my problem is if I'm traveling and reading something on it and the battery dies. Maybe it's time for an iPad. As for Candy: I don't eat candy much since I passed 50+ and became more health conscious, but every now and then I like Jourdan Almonds (candy coated almonds). If I convince myself that at least eating the almond is healthier than just pure sugar, I can enjoy them. Good luck!

I completely understand. I got a grant for my art and part of it I used to buy a Samsung tablet. Cost more than my laptop but WOW do I love it! I had the same exact reaction, "RETURN IT NOW!" but I kept it and now get to take it with me on my research trip to Mexico City! Love you and your work :)

Make sure you back up all your art! My iPad is my only apple product so I didn’t get any storage (I’m used to having a memory card) and it got stuck in a “reboot loop” that apparently “just happens sometimes! lol!” And my only option was to completely reset the iPad and I lost 4 months of art...

I always say if you pay lots to a certain equipment as long as you use it a lot and you use it to a maximum taking advantage of all its features and use it for a long time, it's all worth it. I can't afford iPad Pro, I just bought WACOM Intuos and I also just started digital art. But as long as you can achieve your visual goals on your work, it's totally fine. Congrats on your new iPad :)

Awesome! Hope you enjoy the ipad. I have never used apple products for art creation. Unless you count my iPhone. I've used it in combination with Adobe lightroom app for mobile for some of my photography stuff. But I still mainly use my Nikon DSLR for that.
As far as digital art goes I mainly just use Adobe Photoshop on my laptop. I pay for their creative cloud subscription service to get access to all their apps for like 10-15 bucks a month. Not sure if you can use that with an iPad though...
I haven't done any digital art in a while, and have been playing around with oil pastels trying to find my style. Thanks for all the inspiration and keep it up!
