I know first hand how gorgeous these counters are as they are my mothers. To say we love them is a an UNDERSTATEMENT! I also know first hand the emotional and financial toll it was taking on my mom to rehab this home in pieces, and the stress she was under not knowing how she was going to finish the kitchen on her budget after unexpected construction costs on other projects. These counters not only added TREMENDOUS value to the home (per her realtor) but more importantly made my mom so happy and PROUD! Only problem- we love them so much it might be hard to sell this place now!! Guess we need to start getting excited for our next project since I know we will only have SCC counters from here out. Thank you Mitch and the SCC team!!!

Bonnie. Your mom is incredible. That place looks like a high end general contractor was building it from ground up. . she must be very pleased with herself after all done. It came out beautifully in my opinion.
And Realtors know it takes granite countertops and stainless steel appliances to sell houses. This is more striking than any I've granite I've ever seen. .
For my two cents , I would go with high quality brushed stainless steel switch plates in the kitchen with brown switches .or plugs . All decora style like are used on the gfi receptacles. Might end up on the cover of Better Homes and gardens magazine.

      I have some questions/comments below:
I heard your comments regarding mdf vs plywood and outside edges and I can see that now, tu. I never thought that mdf was suitable for moist areas.
On the kitchen backsplash or countertop you can use a blowdryer to spread the epoxy lightly to get the desired effect.
What type of roller NAPare u using for the wet/dry applications? I always thought a smooth sponge was better because it didn't leave roller marks.
DO YOU HAVE FRANCHISES AVAILABLE IN RALEIGH, NC????
      LOVE YOUR WORK, BEST EVER!!!

Very personable, kept me engaged. I actually was surprised at how “quick” the time went. One question, the sink cut out, can that be used as a cutting board?

Hey Davel, this is Mitch! Brilliant idea, and that's exactly what I'm doing for the customer. I'll bondo the seam where I laminated the two pieces together then I was going to paint the edge black and do a gold paint pen design and cover the whole thing one more time with clear epoxy! I used to do this for every customer when I installed granite! They loved the stinkin cutting board more than the 100 square foot kitchen I just installed!!! Thanks so much for watching

One of the things that I really appreciate about your videos is that when I'm watching them, I feel like I'm actually learning something that I can eventually do. Too many home improvement or woodworking videos I realize that I'm not learning. The person's skills might be amazing, but in the end, watching them is just killing time. I never feel like I'm just killing time watching your videos.

I went to look at laminate counter tops to find one i liked and I didnt order it that day. I wanted to give myself time to make sure it was what I wanted. I also did not have the money for a slab of granite or marble. I loved the epoxy counter tops i had seen. These were all done with kits to cover existing counter tops. My kitchen is in a newly gutted and remodeled home so there is no counter top already there. I had dreams of how i wanted my first and only kitchen done entirely by me a single woman. I wanted those beautiful epoxy counter tops. I could not afford to hire someone to give me what I dreamed my kitchen would look like. Tonight I found you. I had already seen other videos by stone coat epoxy. Every single one I have watched I have been amazed and loved your projects. You my friend have given me back my dream. After watching this entire video, i feel confident I can do this. I can make my own counter tops and pour them myself ( with my daughters help.) I have done all my own plumbing . Laid tile. Installed 2 bathrooms. Installed my kitchen cabinetry. So yes I can do this. I just have to do some research or shoot some questions to stone coat so I have answers and more knowledge before I do the job. I think I feel in love with you today. Your video was very knowledgeable. Very informative. Very well done to give your customers confidence to do the job themselves. You guys rock at stone coat. Love Love Llove you all. May God bless you and yours.

Tilebond III has shorter shelf life. It's has longer open/work time. It's made for areas subject to water prone/moisture exposure areas( sinks surrounds) Titebond II is for cutterboards and outdoor projects. Products that weren't consistently in water.

    • @e.g.doesit7326
      @e.g.doesit7326 Год назад +1

@@rdmj64 you're correct. The saw is a makita (worm drive). I purchased the cordless version with two 18V. The SCC track saw system is made up of three aluminum guides that are approximately 4 ft. and a plastic base plate for your saw (that you will have to mount). You will need some plywood and screws in addition to the track saw kit. There's an instructional video on the SCC website on how to assemble it.

I'm a wood guy. Have been since I was a kid. I've been looking at butcher block to replace my horrible tile counter tops, lusting over the exotic butcher block tops which have become a lot more accessible in the last few years and a lot cheaper. They are cheaper, not cheap. On the up-scale side, I've always loved the random natural grain of stone. But it's never been in my price range even though I have a brother who sells and installs real stone counters. Watching these guys... I can do exotic stone counter tops to EXACTLY match the colors my picky wife wants, and even cheaper than butcher block. (Don't question a picky wife...she picked you) This method is so versatile, I can even put a big butcher block insert where I always chop the BOOM (and fries) for my cooking. The more I watch this method, the more I think I can add some CRAZY value and flash to my kitchen. And less work for me!!

Gordon, Their sales reps know their stuff and mine was extremely helpful. When you place your order, start a rapport. When I was doing my first project, I got the epoxy a little too hot with the propane torch and it caught on fire. Sigh! I called Mike, the sales rep, in a panic and he calmed me down “Don’t worry. It will sand out and when you put your clear coat on, it will look fine.” I’d does. Punch perfection on the face. Since then I did my kitchen countertops and a 20” backsplash. OMGOSH! Everyone who sees it freaks out on how amazingly awesome it is. You got this!

I love the fearless nature of your instructions. Makes me confident that I can rip out my old countertops and design them the way I had only dreamed of in the past. My dear Daddy left me an abundance of great tools and taught me how to use them. It is my goal to completely remodel my kitchen in the days ahead. Thank you again for an excellent video.
