      @destroyaX in my opinion your wrong if you don't get any FPS higher than 60 FPS your probably using its default and not tampering with it cause the Rog Ally delivers more frames then the legion go so their not the same in terms of fps an I'm speaking from the 1st gen rog ally the x having more ram makes it 10x more better performance wise.

    Went for the legion go. I play fighting games mostly so I never really need to push higher framerates than 60, which generally allows me to run full resolution and really take advantage of the screen size difference. And since I'm usually connecting a fightstick, I just take the controllers off and use the touchscreen to launch games, making it a lot less bulky. Can also adjust how much memory is reserved for games in the bios, which helps narrow that small performance gap, since I'm generally not multitasking and disable a lot of default windows functions.

    • @k-jsr
      @k-jsr 4 месяца назад +5

      The only really bad things about the go is I wish I could disable their Legion store button entirely since I'll never use the launcher, and that the d-pad is terrible for fighters so if I was ever stuck without my stick or just wanted to play it as is, I find it impossible not to drop inputs.

    I chose the Legion Go, I love the Ally x for its VRR, more ram and battery, but I think those last two features especially the battery should have been implemented in the normal Ally, I feel that the Ally X is a kind of “Ally pro” like other console companies do, correcting small things and charging 400 usd more I don't see the point, but if you keep the same z1 processor no matter how much ram you use the performance difference is not that big and the last updates of the Legion have left it very well refined playing Baldurs Gate on high at 1000p between 45/55 fps at 25w and not even reaching 65c is beautiful.
    Update: By mistake I saw the price in euros and did not realize, if you do not have any the purchase is worth it, the difference with the normal Z1 extreme are at this time 100 usd, but I would not make the leap or in my case I have the legion, I do not see sense to change, if they put a slightly larger screen without doubt if I would, or I would have waited to buy this one

  • @koolk2115
    @koolk2115 4 месяца назад +12

    The Legion Go has far better color accuracy than the Ally. The 8.8 inch screen is gorgeous. It's super clear. The Go is also great for tabletop gaming. It's really cool to turn my screen vertically and play my Shumps. Sony AAA Titles look amazing on the Go. There is a device that allows us to combine the detachable controllers to make a cool control pad. This is great for Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1 and King of Fighters 15. Due to the screen size, it's convenient to get schoolwork done on the Go, no pun intended. The software and performance have advanced tremendously. I just truly wish the Go had 32gb of RAM instead of 16gb. The speakers are ok but lack depth. I use headphones and sometimes a small portable Dolby bluetooth speaker.
    The battery life and extra 8gb of memory is indeed a game changer. The Go has more versatility buy the Ally X is a powerhouse when it comes to long lasting playtime.

    The Legion Go all the way because it is a handheld, a console, and a PC. I just bought the 1TB from Best Buy and saved a hundred bucks and I'm going to enjoy using it as a handheld, a console, and a PC. I did want to buy the Sony PS5 Pro but realized it wasn't worth 700 bucks. So, instead I used it for the Legion Go. Maybe I'll get the Sony PS5 Pro next year when it goes for $499 on sale.

    • @zoopfvisualeffects4721
      @zoopfvisualeffects4721 Месяц назад

      @@misa19961 It is an amazing handheld. It is versatile and very powerful especially with Leveno's and AMD's updates to ensure as technology moves forward rapidly, the tech inside keeps up as best as possible. I never buy a piece of tech right away and usually wait at least a year before making the investment. I also do the same for CPU's and GPU's for desktops and for laptops as I still have my 1080 Ti on my old desktop, 3060 on my laptop, and 3080 on my desktop. And, all three are rocking the i7 8th, 11th, and 13th gen as the i7 to me has the most bang for the bucks. And, the Legion Go was a great investment and so far since I've bought it, I am not disappointed.
      Now, you have to look at the Legion like a PC meaning once you get it, treat it like a PC and do all the updates to ensure it runs well. Then, after that, download your games and enjoy them. Every games will have a sweet spot so go in understanding that because the tech inside was designed for the space meaning you're not gonna have power like a powerful desktop and/or even a powerful laptop. But, what you're gonna get is still very impressive when quiet to maxed out running your games very well at high settings and sometimes even ultra settings within the proper resolution with FRS on and Frame generation. And for the games that don't have FSR and frame generation, go on Steam and buy Losless Scaling for $6.99 which will provide FSR/DLSS and more along with Frame Generation. Play around with that software along with the games resolution with quality settings to find the sweet spot overall. And once you do, add reshade to the games you want to make them look how you want to. For Reshade I use the color grading tool, grain tool, and sharpening tool a lot to give all my games an incredible look with minimal loss in FPS. The sweep spot for most games will be between 1000p to 1440p with 1440p being the best spot. It's the same for desktop and laptops and equally for the Legion. Trust me, even at 1000p and 1440p, games look amazing with FSR on, Frame gen on, and Reshade.
      Now, how about surfing the net, RUclips, and Netflix and what not. All of these will run very well on the Legion as it has a really good wifi card along with Bluetooth. I run everything well in 4K. And is it bright? It is super bright that I usually just keep it at 60% brightness. And sometimes on games that I wanna see its beauty, I go to 70% brightness.
      How is the Leveno interface? To me, it works well because I see the Leveno as a PC and treat it like one. Once you download all your games, they will show up on the Leveno interface as it also has all the gaming apps. And, it is also where you will do all of your software download to keep windows and your Legion updated. But, you can also do them manually because it is a PC.
      Does it work well connected to a monitor or TV? Yes, it does. Make sure whatever you connect it to, make that screen your main screen as games and everything else will work better and be much smoother. REMEMBER, the Legion cannot go past 1600p so when you play games, take the resolution down of the monitor or TV you attached down to 1600p or lower. Unless your monitor or TV has its own GPU that helps with refresh rate, don't go pass 1600p. But, for watching youtube or anything else, you can crank it up to 4K.
      What should you get with your Legion? A docking system that has fans and the latest ports to ensure you get 4k at 60 fps and above and the fastest speed for USB and USB C. Everything will be connected to the Legion USB C ports so don't be cheap with the docking system and use high end display port or HDMI cables to get the best out the docking system and Legion Go. Also, get a connector for the Legion Go controllers so it mimics a gamepad. Can you connect other controllers? Yes. But, make sure you shut off the Legion controllers first.
      Can it run creative software? Yes but be aware that it was not made for that meaning if you just have an idea and want to test it out, using blender, after effects, or Premier for example - it will work just fine but don't expect final editing results and making a movie on the Legion as it will completely freeze on you. Trust me I pushed my Legion to the brinks of limits.
      All right I hope it helps you just make the decision to get it. Play games anywhere you want. Dock it when you have friends over as a console. And use it as a PC anywhere with your portable external monitor. The Legion go is a dream come true for PC gamers. You will NOT be disappointed if you are a PC gamer or a laptop lover. And I would even go as far as to say a creator. I am glad I chose the Legion Go over all other handheld and the PS5 Pro.

    One nice thing about getting older is to see development of products. The 780M is the same as is in my Vivobook s16, that's cool!
    While I don't think I'd ever play Cyberpunk on an Ally X or Legion Go, another device with a similar shape can't even run some games at 30 fps. The Nintendo Switch was already running on old mobile hardware when it released, but there have been no updates up to now! Just picture the impact: Zelda running at 15 FPS versus Cyberpunk running at 35 FPS!
    Another comparison: When the Nintendo Switch released, the best video card you could buy was the GTX1080ti. That card was able to run the game on 1080p at Ultra at 59 FPS.
    So, seeing a mobile device that looks like a Nintendo Switch, run Cyberpunk at 35 FPS - it's quite amazing.
    Nintendo really missed a chance there. While 35 FPS on a laptop wouldn't feel nice, on a device like this it's just very acceptable.

  • @alexh7513
    @alexh7513 3 месяца назад +1

    The best one is the original ally z1 extreme. You can get it for 500 $ and it has the nice VRR screen. That's very important for 30-50 fps games. Just buy a 20 $ battery pack and you have more batterytime than on the ally x.
    I also tried the legion go, but some games only work with 16:9, so you don't get the full display size from the legion go. And with 720p/800p it doesn't look as sharp as on the ally. And with this chip, it's a 720p handheld. And of course the legion go has no VRR. But i am glad we have so much good windows handhelds. At this point you can't go wrong with the ally, legion go, or steamdeck. All of this are good devices.

      Yep. I don't care about the detachable controllers or the software on the Go (I run Bazzite anyway) but I can't give up that screen. I also have a Steam Deck OLED and it's great for travelling but when I'm home I'm always on the Go. I'll upgrade when the Go gets a bigger battery and more RAM. They need to keep the screen size though or all bets are off.

    OG Ally owner here, also have steam deck oled LE, and recently got the lego. Really glad I didn't pick up the Ally X. After seeing reviews of maybe seeing 2-3 fps better in most games the upgrade just isn't worth it. Also since my OG Ally has been modded like crazy including hall effects, 90wh mod, 2280 adapter, and fixed the micro sd card slot myself. All for well under $100. So if you are strapped for money you can 100% buy a used ally and upgrade it to be even better than the new Ally X for almost half the cost. Don't fall for Asus misleading marketing!

    Just to note on the SSDs, besides also using a 2230 on the Legion Go with an adapter, you can also use a 2280 with a back panel replacement/adapter. But out of the box the Ally X wins here. Since you can also remove the controllers from the Legion Go, I find it more portable if you don't need to bring those. I typically use an external controller with all of these devices. Just find them more comfortable that way.
