Yeah, rode my bike in that area a few times while I was in the state. Its gorgeous but just be aware that those "cities" he ran through were usually just a church and a gas station/local store. There are not that many places to eat, but they tend to be pretty good and in odd places. To get to a real "town" and groceries can be a pretty long drive down twisty roads. Pick the right location and you can be pretty isolated due to how the roads run. Oh, and if you are liberal you may not want to mention politics. I sure didn't. Funny thing, my bike was a motor scooter and still would have smoked that guys bike. But yes, I watched this twice just to enjoy the scenery again.
I need to go back and write down those roads that were called out and take ride up that way this fall. Edit: I did map it out and he lost it at West Brushy Fork Rd. I had to laugh, I grew up on Brushy Fork Rd .. in WV. Knew a kid who ran from the police (on his own bike) and he dropped ita Brushy Fork Rd. They might be kin, except elsewhere it was mentioned he was from a local college ... so, not the best of chances there. Still looks like a really nice ride though.
Much respect brother. As a deputy in Ohio, I gotta tell you.... I REALLY like the sightseeing value your pursuits have. Mine normally go through junkyards, old steel mill areas, and crack houses. Great pursuit control and keeping the public safe.
Tennessee and North Carolina are beautiful mountains and valleys I live in Upstate New York in the country.. and Tennessee and North Carolina put Upstate New York to shame.

If you have never gone down to NC and Tennessee you are missing out on some of the most beautiful places. I live in Jersey and it is so much nicer there.

How he lasted that long riding like that was a miracle lol. Good chase, good driving officer. Side note, I love riding roads like this but it's sketchy with the amount of people that let their dogs run wild in the street out there as you can see in this video.
Also, people pull out driving ten mph all the time. My wife and I where on a road like this in Arkansas and we came into the path of a woman driving a combine that took up both lanes. On the same trip we had a deer come at us. Near miss. Back roads need more defensive riding. I do wonder what he was riding. They never showed the bike.

The only thing that would make this video funnier is if it was me on the bike. You see, I weigh 300 lbs. There is nothing funnier than a fat man on a 100cc bike trying to outrun the police. Especially if the back tire of the bike is a little low on air.
I've ridden dirt and street bikes for over 30 years and to the inexperienced riders listen up. A motorcycle cannot out run a car on curvy roads. A car can take curves faster than a bike. You would have to have plenty of straight stretches on winding roads to have a chance of out running the police and even then you don't know what might be in the road ahead and riders no matter how good they are usually make mistakes when running. So just pull over, you'll come out way better.
I would dust that cop on my BMW1000RR and on those 'curvy" (lol) roads. The shitty bike our perp is riding couldn't out run a tricycle powered by a 3 year old.

When he swing wide left to enter a right hand curve I would stick the car right next to him and keep him in the left lane. The car has twice the top speed, can out corner him and out break him so he never had any chance he just thought he did. I think that if anyone runs from the police like this they should pull their license for 20 years.

You can see the guy becoming a better rider as he went. Started out dragging left foot like a flat-tracker and staying in the right hand lane. Toward the end of the tour, he "set up" the turns for maximum radius and stopped dragging his foot. When he gets out of the slammer, he would be ready for clip-on handlebars and rear-set controls. Lesson learned.

You could tell the tires on that bike were getting greasy. He was using all of the road and kept feathering the throttle. He was lucky he didn't lay it down on one of the sharp turns. And how you gonna run from the cops on a motorcycle that only goes 65mph??
