I took one a couple days ago that didn't allow blue book and calculator and passed it. You do come across them every now and then, just keep pushing bro. I have 18yrs experience
Hey my man don’t look at it as you didn’t pass the first time around now you know what material is expected for you to get to the goal you want the next time around stick to it learn those formulas and go get what is yours. Don’t read the comments and focus on them too hard. If you want to be a pipefitter you be that
Nvr give up man.. pipe fitting is not an easy job.. there’s a lot to learn but it is a very satisfying job… hope u crush the next test, u already knw wat to expect, u got dis bro
Yes I took many tests without a book or calculator ! For a long time I didn't bring a calculator on the job. Just my tally book/tall note pad, and set of lead pencils. One #5, #7, & a 1.1 mm lead pencil, small straight edge, and a eraser pencil, and ink pen ! I looked like a geek 🤓 with my pocket protector, and all those pens, and pencils sticking out, but the foremans all said "IF Y'ALL HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ISO'S, ASK TIM, AND HE'LL CHECK HIS NOTE BOOK !" 😅😅😅😅😅 Stay strong, stay safe, and keep at it !!
YES AND THE RIGGING TEST YOU HAVE TO KNOW ALL THE FORMULAS. AND NO NOTES. NO OPEN BOOK SAME WITH THE 150 QUESTION MEDICAL GAS TEST. I WAS THE ONLY ONE TO PASS IN MY CLASS... I PASSED WITH A 97% and got a 93 on the written 200 QUESTION RIGGING TEST AND PASSED MY SIGNALING TEST WITH 100%. NOW THEY CHANGED IT SO RIGGING AND SIGNALING ARE THE SAME NITC CERT. I HAVE 37 CERTS IN CONSTRUCTION... IDK REVOLUTION SQAUD! KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! STAY SAFE STAY BLESSED...OUT
Definitely the mindset to have always a learning experience whatever happens good or bad good to know that there are some tests out there that are like that
i feel u brother im going take my first pipe fitter test Wednesday and im kinda nervous but you know what this video inspires me to go do my best regardless of the outcome especially on hard times i wish you the best in your endeavors and lets do our best to keep pushing forward even though im still not as experienced in this but i just know that one day we will look at these experiences and understand the growth that we have achieved looking back at this so lets keep going hard in the paint brother.
Yes. Which is dumb since the blue book and your calculator will be used the whole time you’re at the job site, however they do those qualification test in that manner so that they can keep job positions open to be able to bring in their buddies and relatives. Not what you know, but who you know. Shitty, I know, but that’s the reality. But trust me, it’s probably a blessing you didn’t get hired for that job. Keep applying and keep your spirits up. That’s why it’s important to have a good attitude, hard work ethic, and get good with your welders and supervision so they can pull you onto the next job. Best of luck brotha
First of all good job anyways This happened to a buddy of mine he passed but he was pissed cause when he showed up the first day of work they all had there calculators and blue books he was like WTF but hey that's the way it is, in case you're calculator breaks 😂 that's why anyways keep grinding don't stop can't stop!!!!
it's almost impossible to get into the union without knowing someone that can get you in. I've reached out to business agents where they'll give me hope in getting me in then just completely ghost me.
keep trying man, i just took mine an passed. no calculators, no books, straight up answering no multiple choice. never give up, they try an weed people out like that. try again brother.
No, it sounds like an ego thing. Everywhere ive been you can use any tools you have to pass, 99% of applicants couldnt do that shit without the book at least
Is this a joke? You think you should get a job, when you have no clue how to do the job? You ever see any pipe fitter walking around reading their book, trying to figure out how to do it? This is daf. Go be a waiter at red lobster. That's all you're qualified for.
Carl Lennon you’re a fucking dickhead. Did you feel good making this comment? This man is merely trying to work in a field that he is interested in trying to make a living and you want to send him to a fast food restaurant maybe that’s what you should do you stupid prick. I’m sure you’re going to reply back when you do how about you drop your location while you’re at it
Honestly people like you are what makes profession’s suck, like does your life suck that much you gota put other people Down?😂 like damn bro if you hatin you needa work on yourself. Everyone started somewhere and if you think you started pipefitting knowing how to do everything all the better to you pass the knowledge on and help people, being an a-hole ain’t cool maybe you should go work at red lobster with that attitude

Nothing feels better than flying in a double rolling offset from a 6 inch line to a 8in line spool piece and it fits like a glove

Cómo estás trabajé contigo en west gulf marine , todavía tines mi número , nesecitan 6 pipe fitter para un trabajo grande y pagan de 30 a 32 la hora
I have NEVER had a test where I’m allowed the blue book or calculator, didn’t know that was a normal practice for a test…
The secret to the trigonometry is to remember the angle of the dangle. Cut your 45s smooth and when you’re welding wear your goggles.
I'd fall on my face without the book😂
What's the blue book?
25 years of pipefitting and never had to take a test
me paso lo mismo onde fue
triganometry?!
Keep at it bro
Always
I'm going to try to be a pipefitter and I'm just watching RUclips vids for help so I know what to do
Yep
what is that tho
Maybe try an English book?
Just need to practice your basic math on paper, you're allowed scrap paper at the test
yes sir
What company was this for ? How much money were they paying? I never had to do a test without one .
this was for solar turbines the pay was 25$
@@sandovalco that's pretty odd that a job would say no book or calculator and be paying that low
I’ve did several the was not allowed but never a calculator
yes sir other interviews have let the calculator be used

Is it because you can’t add & subtract?
@@user-qo2du9lw7tget a life loser 😂
Yes
ok
I took my test today, im from california we weren’t allowed a calculator.
What is it?
you gotta know tho
yessir
Yea. Also for a lead position they expect you to know it
this was for a pipefitter position not lead
keep trying man, i just took mine an passed. no calculators, no books, straight up answering no multiple choice. never give up, they try an weed people out like that. try again brother.
No, it sounds like an ego thing. Everywhere ive been you can use any tools you have to pass, 99% of applicants couldnt do that shit without the book at least
Most companies allow only blue book and calculator so whoever you went and tested with is bullshitting
yes ive noticed in other job interviews it is allowed
Is this a joke?
