- HOT TAKE: NITRO is the best hyper in the game. #proveuswrong
This week's ultra high res POV stands tall at a whopping 230 feet in the air, the World's third Bolliger & Mabillard hyper coaster, NITRO, is 20 years old this year, and STILL going strong!
Reaching speeds of 80 mph, and falling a steep 215 feet towards the Earth, this GIANT of a coaster truly stands up to the hype! This fan-favorite, widely renowned as one of the BEST hyper coasters in the world, is sought after year after year and consistently falls to the top of the charts on most enthusiasts' steel coaster lists.

I highly recommend riding this coaster at night in the front row. Cant see the drop coming or ending its great.
Usually a short line too so you can hit it repeatedly
The front is lagged by the seats behind it. The rear seats are always the best. View hardly hindered
@@0mcguirk0 Im purely talking about not seeing the drop coming. For speed, yeah the back is always better. The back sees the rows in front of it drop.
Know I want to try this!
Honestly nah, I recommend the back-not if your scared. It’s because when the front part of the rollercoaster collects the speed for the back, it gives the back a boost. So even before you even get to the drop; you’ll be zooming in the back
I love how Nitro’s ascent up the first hill is very slow, it helps build up suspense and to make you rethink your life decisions.
Kingdra Ka and drop of doom: “look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power”
El Toro’s lift hill in contrast to Nitro is faster than most other coasters in the park, so I guess they wanted to get you straight into the action rather than dragging it out for suspense.
I agree so much
Man I love this B&M hyper, I actually want to ride this again so bad right now!
I agree
Agree!
I rode Nitro 25 times in Total
My favorite ride on Nitro was at night in the back row. It was so exciting because you couldn’t see a thing,
Still a great coaster after 20 years.
I remember riding this back when I was a kid I was like “we still going up?!” Then the drop came and I was like oh- 💀
Smooth, comfortable restraints, great floater airtime, great first drop, intense helix. It is not the most explosive coaster in the park, but probably the best all around coaster IMO. Not as intense as El Toro, but I still prefer this one.
The beginning of this ride is what takes your soul. The rest of the ride is pure fun. 😂
i literally went on it today for my end of the year school trip
REALL
I went on it yesterday, and let me tell you about the accuracy of this comment 😂 I’m shitting myself before it even happens
I remember seeing this ride from afar and I was like damn is that a HYPERCOASTER. it was like randomly placed in like the woods, but you could see the drop from a distance. This literally became my go to rollercoaster..
In my opinion this is the best coaster at this park, riding this for the first time is just an amazing experience. It's so smooth and just incredible
This one, El Torro, and Bizzaro (Medusa) are my top 3
@@Lobster.shack13 yesss i didn’t get to ride medusa today but definitely el toro and nitro are my favs and superman
@@lokifairy888 Superman kinda mid ngl
you can never go wrong with a b&m hyper
True af
I felt like I was goin to hell on that first drop so ill never get on this ride again. 🤣
🤣🤣 that's why this is the best ride
Man the air time on this beast is insane!
Can't wait till the park opens, I can go on this ride, and end my great depression!
I just went on nitro for the first time last night. LOVED IT
Went on this yesterday was fun but on the chain lift up I was rethinking my life decisions.
LMAO I’m going today should I go on it
@@razorxplus5502 please tell me you did! It’s so much fun
@@NortheasternP.T.S. I did lmao
@@razorxplus5502 sweet
listen guys trust me on this. do this ride first when u get to the park. in the front row. that was the best experience of my life
nah you alwyas gotta do joker first and then nitro second
My tip is the back for the first drop
I rode this today for my birthday, I rode 5 rides. The Joker being the first and Nitro being the last. I didn't scream on anything. My eyes were closed the entire ride after the drop because I got scared. It felt like your stomach was coming into you but you couldn't control it. The drop on this ride is INSANE! Its like 0G's. I thought this was the final boss until I heard and saw Kingda Ka. 450 FT Climb and drop seems like a nightmare. Would try this again in 2 years! Or a year!
My 1st coaster 🥰
Samsse
same
My first B&M Hyper!
Lemme tell you, When i went on this during the halloween week, it was pitch dark. I never screamed more in my life.
The nitro is by far my favorite roller coster
Me personally I like Medusa but this is easily too 3 rides at the park
I highly recommend riding this at night I rode it for the first time this and Jersey devil by are my favorite roller coasters in this park riding nitro at night is scary but it makes it more thrilling
The floater airtime on this slams you to your seat when you sit in row 9!
especially during winter time. Got strong airtime for christmas last year (technically 2 days after the holiday lol)
It’s such a good ride! I went on it and the buildup was scary and I knew the drop was coming when everyone’s hands started flying up me personally the drop wasn’t bad at all at least the first was wasn’t the rest for me felt like you were gonna fly out your seat! It looks scary but that’s only because of the buildup but the rest easy! Also one more thing I forgot to mention is that it’s not not like any other ride it doesn’t support your arms or shoulders but it has this car wheel it’s not exactly like one but it supports your lower body and stomach but a really good ride!
WOW! Looks like a long, fun, smooth ride!!
Thank you so much for your videos, because of you and a few others doing those kind of videos i decided to do some working POVs too, thank you for inspiring me!
Awesome ride! Very smooth. First drop is a doozey, but after that, smooth sailing. Front row is the best.
New POV, nice! ✨
This was my first B&M Hyper, and I’m glad I got to do this first!
THE DROP IS EPIC!
I’ve ridden it 3 - 4 times now and I’m absolutely in love with this ride my friend finally agreed to ride it with me so I’m taking her this weekend
That’s my favorite ride
AWESOME RIDE!!!! ❤❤❤❤
My favorite ride at great adventure. literally feels like your flying its so cool
i always blackout at the end of this ride, it’s skull crushing
Omg I do too! My entire body went limp over the lap bar
I knew I wasn’t the only one! This is one of the first roller coasters I ever blacked out on. I still remember the unconsciousness I felt after the first and 3 drops.
This looks incredible!
It’s the best, my fav ride by far :)
I still remember the feeling I had on this ride and I only rode it one time back in 2005. First coaster where I ever blacked out 2 or more times. It’s an experience.
Favorite roller coaster in this park right here
this felt more scarier than kingda ka when I went on it lol i felt more tickling feeling weightlessnesss in my stomach😭
I thought I was gonna die. 😆 Never playing with my life again. I get on every roller coaster but that one.
It's such a addictively uncomfortable feeling idk how to explain it lmao
Apparently it's the second scariest in the park- I don't think that it's THAT SCARY?
Have to visit and try this one out! Looks really cool, and as always, great POV.
i went on it yesterday, I just wanna say it's more faster then it looks if you haven't been on it.
The first drop goes by in a second, and the first drop.... Is very uhm. It feels like your soul leaves your body. But it's fun!
I remember i lost my sight for 5 seconds in the second drop lmao
@@okat32 the second drops are wayyyyy worse than the first
Went to Six Flags Great Adventure for the first time today and this was definitely my favorite rollercoaster there! The bunny hills kinda made me sick but the rest was so smooth, and I loved the view! I guess it also helped that it was perfect weather and the sun was just setting over the pinelands.
I’m in love with it it’s my most fav
this ride at night is insane
Got on this for the first time this summer and it is e l i t e.
That seems Pretty Fun & Scarey!! 😲😵😍
if you hear closely that first screams were actually me and if you hear more closely you can hear my brother say “yeaaaaaa”
Best coaster in the park. Period.
Best ride in the park. Kingda ka is also up there along with the log flume
Toro is also debated for that spot but I can see why some people don't like it
The log flume is great for summer. And I agree, Ka is the best in the park
@@kennywo09 I remember i went on the log fume like 20 times in one day as a kid 😂
@@John.1997. lol!
I feel so bad for my home park since as of lately everything that can go wrong has. We will be back on too soon! Glad to see this back to running again
The ride itself isn’t that bad but the buildup and drop are CRAZY and so is the air time
Def my favorite rollercoaster ever. Gatekeeper at Cedar point is a close second!
Who else ranks this Hyper in their top 5?
E
Arguably my favorite roller coaster of all time honestly, and I have some good credits under my belt, but Nitro is just too damn fun and the layout back in the woods makes for some of the best night rides you’ll find anywhere
That helix and the first drop bro oh my goddd 😭
I will be here in 3 mounth and Iam so exited
The only problem with this ride is the speed of the lift hill it takes 45 seconds to get 230 feet up. I think they should increase the lift hill speed by a few mph.
six flags :NO
Could you imagine a lift like millennium force, maverick, el toro, or skyrush on this? Lmao
@@guitarboy1234 Yea I’m also hoping they get this thing a repaint
that could also help with capacity they recently did that with apollo
This would actually only help when it's running two trains. In that case, you want the other one back as soon as possible, so a faster lift would help. But it's designed to run three, and a slower lift is actually beneficial for this. If a train is nearing the top of the lift and the train ahead of it hasn't yet reached the mid-course brakes, the lift will automatically stop in order to prevent the trains from possibly colliding. The lift speed is set so that this won't happen. If you dispatch train B as soon as train A clears the lift, train A will clear the mid-course brakes just before train B gets to the top of the lift. If the lift ran faster, train B would get to the top too quickly, and the lift would have to stop because train A hadn't cleared the mid-course brakes yet.
This ride looks incredible! I’m coming to the park in a few weeks and I’m definitely going on this!
Caleb its insane. The best ride in the park. Bizzaro is good too, and King da Ka. However, this first drop you feel. King da Ka is way too fast lol.. its scary fast.. this you actually have time to think as the ride is going up the hill..
@@thinline8504 Oh yeah I loved it!!!
Best ride ever
Cool
I think this is intense , from climb to first drop.
LMAO
Did anyone notice the pieces of flash vertically velocity on the ground after the first drop
It was the camera taking a picture I’m pretty sure
Back row > front row
gotta get front row next time i go
ita great when ur in the back row bc u go so much faster but u definitely feel dizzy after getting off
Definitely my 2nd favorite ride at SFGA ! El Toro is #1
Best drop in the whole park
no “the bulll” has the best drop
@@xuzze.anyone who’s wondering “the bull” is el toro
Baby’s still going strong
Best ride ever er
For the love of God please don't change the name of this ride. It's a great name!
One of my all time favorite coasters...rode it the first weekend it opened! Sadly I don't think I could handle it anymore.....would get way too dizzy.
if ever there was a ride in desperate need of a paint job, this is it
A thousand times yes I agree
I mean they just repainted Superman and Medusa
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 💀
I’m going on this soon 🤗
The bunny hill airtime on this is the best
Man I have not been on nitro before but it just seems fun and I am going on it September 1st
This is my personal favorite at the park, besides bizarro.
Bizarro is so underrated. Just a non-stop adventure hidden way back in the corner.
@@cinoclav Yea Bizzaro is way too underrated
Wonder Woman 2nd.
@@Ron_Delle 1) WW isn’t a coaster, which is basically the topic here.
2) I’m not riding that thing again after seeing this: ruclips.net/video/W0Oa0sN_bNg/видео.html
Best coaster in the park I think. Front row at night is just insane.
This is a good ride. But not better that EL TORO 😫
Best ride in the park
NITRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TURN ON THE NITRO!!!!!!!!!
NITRO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went on this coaster a couple days ago at near sunset and it was awesome
Night rides on Nitro at Fright Fest are the best, you're just soaring through darkness with the silhouettes of trees wizzing by you
@@MakBot It adds to the thrill just like how it looks like you’re about to hit your head on the silver metal light thing on bizzaro
i love this coaster so much but jee those girls were scared lmao
Never noticed how tiny Batman is by comparison.
What’s the deal with Jersey Devil
rmc gotta come fix it or something
It’s sister coaster had an incident so they shut it down till they make sure that same incident will not happen on Jersey devil
Only coater that scares the crap outta me lol
Never seen this ride before at six flags
It kinda tucked in the back
Sucks they lowered the drop from its original design, but I love how you slightly start black out on that first 180degree turn. At least I do.
I knew it..i remember riding the nitro when it 1st opened and I remember it seemed to go higher on the 1st drop..I remember going crazy because it took forever for the coaster to get to the top..it felt like we were going into the clouds😅😅
Did they?
Wooooow youre right.
my favorite rollercoaster!
NItro has a great and classic out and back layout which is further enhanced at night time! Given the space it's in if I was B&M I would have kept the layout the same and made all the hills, first drop include, another 20 feet higher. Make it 250 ft tall @ 85 mph. Also one of the few B&M mega coasters that uses 9 rows of cars vs 8 rows.
Think smarter not harder. Don’t make it taller, just dig 20ft lower into the ground. ;)
THIS IS THE BEST ROLLER COASTER AT SIX FLAGS HANDS DOWN!! that first drop is serious!!!! It gets me every time lmaoooo
El Toro’s ejector? 76 degree drop+head choppers+camelbacks+rolling thunder hill. Nitro ranks second best in the park. It’s my favorite b&m hyper though
@@traviswagner2652 shut up nerd and enjoy ur coasters
@@commcrimson9999 shut up Roblox kid 🙄

@@traviswagner2652 ur mother
I love this coaster but someone please explain why theres no extra protection seat belt the one bar just doesnt make me feel safe at all ??
cuz u dont need a seatbelt
It’s a b&m clamshell that is airlocked in. It’s perfectly safe. For reference you have a higher chance of being struck by lighting 50 times in a row dying on a coaster. Seatbelt is unnecessary and also would limit floater airtime. -local coaster thoosie
Like any other coaster restraint, it has two separate locking mechanisms. In this case, they're ratchets. Either one of them will keep it locked, and the chance of both failing during the same ride is practically zero. The seat belts on coasters aren't really for restraint, they're measuring devices. They're a specific length that corresponds to the highest safe position of the actual restraint. That means if you can't buckle it, you won't be able to close the restraint enough to safely ride.
Wait were you just not scared
when will el toro, this and jersey devil reopen? and can you bring back the preshow in the dark knight ride? Last time i visited, this park was on it's worst days.
Nitro is currently open and operating. Our team is working hard to get Jersey Devil Coaster and El Toro back up and running. We apologize for any inconvenience. Visit www.sixflags.com/greatadventure to stay up to date on ride availability.

Anyone else black out on that first right turn? This was a crazy ride.
Rode with my daughter a few years back, twice, always returned to station stunned and a bit warm.
No. Only a weak person would.
27 year old me, loves riding 🎢. Nitro took me out. I'm 43 now. Maybe I will get a chance to go back to the park and try again someday 🤣
