Note 1: I forgot to mention it in the video proper, but thanks to Reddit users Mythical Tenshi and Veracious Cake for their translations - without them, this video would not be possible.
Note 2: I understand most people are using another version of the proficiency level translations than am I, but a) I think they get the point across as is; b) the visuals should make it more than clear exactly what level I'm talking about; c) I'm way too lazy to into Paint to make the diagram again and then re-Photoshop everything.
Also, please with me luck for the Emission one. I have no idea currently whether it's going to be 7-8 minutes or 18-20 to say everything I want to say.

Killua was doing even better at enhancement training than Gon in Greed Island if I remember correctly, so you can definitely see the midpoint there.

I think texture surprise is still transmutation. It only makes a trivial change like the look of texture which is shown in the nen water test where it can change taste without affect the look and the test is basically the most basic form an ability you can have. I also think hisoka wouldn't waste his aura to do conjuration

3:51 something to consider with Hisoka specifically is that he has a VERY strong understanding of the nen system. It’s not totally out of the question that he separated the conditions that “my nen will permanently increase after my heart stops for x seconds” and “bungee gum will restart my heart after x seconds of being stopped”. Given how top tiers in the series already play a bit fast and loose with the rules of nen, I can definitely see hisoka gaming the system for free power ups.
Edit: free in a sense. Considering the start up condition is hisoka’s actual death and presumably his body is still susceptible during the time frame you could dismember or otherwise keep hisoka from reviving

  • @tordlindgren2123

Im not surprised about bisky. She know all the fall pits of training nen, her hatsu is simple and she is incredibly advanced with her techniques which are all perfected. Besides that ranking isn't how strong someone is, its how close they are to achieve their full potential (some going beyond that). And the ants all seem to have been born close to their peak.

    Manga spoilers
I personally think Hisoka's powerup is still active. It's due to the story always hinting at a passive/permanent pressence of post-mortem nen.
Specifically due to him turning Machi down for healing. He used Texture Surprise to completely reconstruct his missing parts, with aura alone.
Now I know this doesn't mean he didn't heal at any point between then and the ship. But if those are still just Texture Surprise-
And Hisoka's case, it's the only one where we've seen someone get revived from death. At least, this way.
Chimera ant stuff was more reincarnation.

@@CrashBandicootFan100 Aye, it's uncertain as of yet how exactly post-mortem Nen works, but I think Hisoka moving after his injuries is simply a mark of his super-human nature and insane endurance and pain tolerance. Remember how he just let Kastro "bite off" both of his arms off? Considering he died through suffocation and not the actual explosion, it make sense in my mind and therefore isn't conclusive of a post-mortem Nen power up.

ISTG, I wasn't trying to write an essay. When they said Nen is one of the most in-depth power systems in fiction, they weren't joking.
Maybe it gives you a boost, but it doesn't stack? Otherwise you could abuse it like a Zenkai if you had an ability specifically catered around it's use and activation. *Cough Cough*
Or maybe since Post-Mortem Nen is typically thought to be an invocation of desperation and malice (Commonly turning into nen-curses, not 1UP's) you don't really get the amp if you know you're going to come back anyways with borderline 100% certainty. Coming back with it as a power might require that emotional distress in the same way as in when Gojo unlocks Reverse-Curse Technique in JJK during his fight with Toji. Mind you, Cursed Energy is specifically powered by negative emotion whereas Nen is more general willpower/desire based, so it might not translate. (Also, Hisoka seems pretty whimsical about both the attempt and after he comes back half-blended. (That might just be an on-brand response for him though, you know what he's like.)
Hisoka might have also been at the second-tier proficiency based on his limited number of categories (Or blending of them within a given Hatsu.) used and then bumped up to tier-three. Punching is simple enhancement. Conjuration covers texture surprise, (Somehow) as well as his paper and cards. Transmutation is Bungee Gum, but now he can detach it which is almost certainly emission. I believe Hisoka was express stated to be kind of poor at Emission so him suddenly pulling it off after coming back from the dead on good ol' Muscle-Machi. (Using the properties of detachment and something-something) In addition he suddenly is able to create prosthesis out of bungee gum despite being limited in precision in his prior fight with Chrollo after getting a mangled hand and leg (Implying, but not guaranteeing, he couldn't do it then) and IIRC, applying texture surprise without any paper. (I could be misremembering that, or maybe it's just the what the panel showed and he did, who knows.)
So, it definitely seems like his current abilities are improved in at least sophistication from what they were. Nothing really showing if that carries over to his baseline or any new abilities he creates from now on. As for him only being at the natural-tier in the event he was amped and that's the time-frame snapshot? Biscuit says the fastest way to level up as a Nen-user if to train in all categories focusing on your affinity and tapering down to the secondary and tertiary. Cookie probably requires manipulation in order to be used for magical spa services, which is Bisky's direct opposite affinity. Even if it's not a heavy use that still probably contributes to that factor. Netero was seemed as far away from basic enhancement as he could get with the 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva.
Alternatively, or perhaps complimentary, is the idea that the highest level of Transmutation is being able to significantly alter your own body and in Biscuit that manifests in becoming a Bisque doll in appearance. For Hisoka that probably represents in going from making Bungee limbs to BECOMING BUNGEE GUM, being able to change his normal body freely to possessing the properties of rubber and gum. Although, as others have pointed out, given where Hanzo and Tsubone are located (Transmuter-Conjurer and Conjurer-Transmuter, respectively) that might be the origin of body-modding, but maintaining it 24/7 while naturally being a Giga-Chadess might be a feat worthy of the ultimate tier.
There's also the fact that the given tiers of proficiency reflect how far a Hatsu is to complete mastery an not the overall power of the user. (Looking at you, Abengane, resident Ultimate-Conjurer) Uvogin is a tier-three because his focus was genuinely 100% on *PUNCH* , whereas Morel is a tier-one despite using his secondary and opposite affinities as a basic component in his Hatsu. It has _way_ more ground to cover. Hisoka now using Bungee gum with Emission might be what bumps him up a tier, given that it's a tertiary affinity in something that can function on a pure-primary affinity.
Lastly, we (Mostly me) might just be over thinking this. Undead Neferpitou taking Gon-San's arm off might be as much a result of a successful sneak attack or Gon "wanting to be like Kite" as a sudden amp in power considering he still win the fight after that -quite handily- without express difficulty. The gap between pre-rose Meruem and Pitou is supposed to be significant, but to the degree that a PMN doesn't change the outcome against someone off that level perhaps indicates it's not as crazy a multiplier as we thought. (Or maybe he really was that strong, even then.) Even with somebody who doesn't care about them dying even a fraction as much as the outcome as their motivation. (Or Gon would just grow stronger in response to Pitou's increase in power to continue the mauling, but if he was really using "Everything" in his transformation that seems kinda unlikely)

We KNOW before his death that he was proficient and powerful. And i assume he was still excellent. That only means that he had a lot MORE of his potential to achieve. After his death and nen boost he probably got to natural. That also means he still hasn't reached his full potential. That just means his ability has THAT much potential

I don't think body morphing has anything to do with transmutation. It doesn't fit the type's description of changing the property of aura (to be fair neither does emission's teleportation). Also nearly every morphing ability we've seen has been conjuration or manipulation. Youpi's transformations are likely a natural ability or conjuration/manipulation based(manipulation is a stretch due to his placement on the ring but that doesn't seem to matter to the ants given their large aura pools).
