      ya, it’s like when i’d hear the stones do a robert johnson tune back in the 60s, 70s and then go looking for the original. (of course that required more than doing a youtube search, LOL)

    Old school capo up on the 5th fret. Cool. Peter was a Bluegrass boy. 'Nuff said.

    Peter is so great! I love how he makes these songs his own. Peter started learning to play music on the ukulele, and can still hold his own on the little instrument.

    Does Peter Rowan have a studio version of this song?

      Not sure but I recall him playing it in the mid 80s at Raspberry's in Angles Camp, CA. I thought it might be on Texican Badman, but it's not

    Was hoping he might have done it a tad slower than Billy, but no, he sets the same cracking pace!!

      The Arthur Smith and Ralph stanley have similar words but I feel like this is a different song. I think Peter wrote this

    Big question after watching both this and Billy’s version is is this drop-d (DADGBe) or double drop-d (DADGBd) tuning? it’s hard to tell what they’re doing with that 6th string.
    Either way, I agree, Peter was an amazingly innovative guitar player in his youth and this song is inspirational.

    • @nickbeier6265

      It’s great stuff. I think they’re both in standard drop D. At least I know Billy is. After this song it looks like Peter tunes up his low E and moves on.

    • @guitarman1477
      @guitarman1477 3 года назад

      Think I’ll try that, with both e strings tuned to d
