That was a class AAA production and performance all the way around! David walks out on huge a stage wearing blue jeans and a plain T-shirt......then puts on a stellar unforgettable performance and show in front of a packed audience!
One of the guitarists slips in a bar from the TV series Doctor Who theme. Its the drummer Nick Mason whose distorted voice says 'one of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces'.
Great choice for a reaction! Welcome to the Pink Floyd rabbit hole. The only line of lyrics in "One Of These Days" ("One of these days, I'm going to cut you into little pieces!") supposedly refers to a DJ at the BBC back in the band's early days, whom they felt talked way too much. Pink Floyd, as you experienced yourself, are masters of sound. They were experts at mixing sound from back when you edited magnetic recording tape with razor blades and editing blocks. The thought was expressed that one day, the lengthy stretch of mag tape containing this DJ's unending comments would be edited to remove his voice, and he would end up in pieces on the cutting room floor. Hence, the lyric. Supposedly. That long, frankly boring stretch in the middle where the bass noodles around while lasers project boring circles in the background, was used, during part of the tour, to project a sponsor's logo on the stage's background. It may have been simpler to just plan around the logo being projected for some contractually-required number of seconds, at the required number of shows, and then just project the circles in it's place for the rest of the shows for the remainder of the tour. Finally, I had the pleasure of seeing this tour, and this song probably gives you the best idea of what it was like to be there, and get blown out of your seat by the incredible light show. It was like this all night long. What an incredible tour. You can literally choose any song from the PULSE Concert, and know that the audio will be impeccable, as you've seen, and the visuals will be incredible. I hope you choose more PULSE songs to react to. If I may suggest, try "Time", or "Wish You Were Here", or the night's finale, "Run Like Hell".
The lyrics you didn't understand are: "One of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces...". I'll leave it to you to research their meaning...
