Pink Floyd just assaults you with their sights and sound, and yes vibes - the experience actually shakes your chest and body with sonic vibrations. It's truly an Experience to be a part of a concert such as one of these. "One of These Days" really brings this Experience home.

I´m glad to visit the Pulse Concert 1994 in Hannover, Germany. 3 Hours of perfection, this Hours can´t be surpassed from everyone or anything. Shure the best 3 Hours in my Life.

Another great reaction, I did hear anecdotes of friends who went to the Pulse concert and travelled home in silence as they tried to absorb what they had seen and heard. Watching your videos is like being there with friends. I think those of us that know PF songs have a good understanding of where they can take you.
The opening track on the Meddle album. What draws so many fans to Pink Floyd is their intelligent and creative music making.

When I listen to them I feel so chill at the start of the song, by the end my heart is pounding, blood flowing, mind blown! Sometimes they hone in on one emotion and with loving caresses, beat you over the head with it. Other times they grab every emotion available and throw it at you in one song! The greatest of all time.
This was my first Pink Floyd concert(not this particular show but this tour). Back then in 1994, there was no social media. Not even really much if an internet. So we didn’t know exactly what to expect. I knew it would be epic, I knew all the songs, I knew there would be a great light show. But there were so many surprising moments where I and everyone else basically had our jaws dropped open in amazement. It was the best night of my life.

So true, as they are genuinely new to the Pink Floyd phenomenon, not like most reactors... they really bring me back to when I did experience those pieces when they came out.
What incredibly lucky people we are, to think how many millions of years old the universe is, and we just happen to be on this little old rock at the same time as Pink Floyd😉 I've said it before, i love watching your reactions and listening to what you have to say, you both looked totally overwhelmed at the end of this one. I always seem to focus on Nick Mason during this performance who in my humble opinion doesn't get the recognition in the drumming world that he deserves. Might i suggest you take a look at 'Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun' from the 1972 live Pompeii concert to see some of Nicks fantastic drumming skills, peace to you both✌

I was very excited to see you guys had this song up for reaction! No lyrics, just super cool music and 12 words! Great response!!
i saw them at this show, sat up on the left hand side two thirds of the way back, an absolutely stunning experience, every song tried to blow the roof off the venue! the crowd looked in shock/total awe of what they were experiencing. Then a huge surprise - i was told i was going again the next night - this time two rows from the front, right in the middle - words simply cannot describe what that night was like, it was almost like i was in the show itself, the quadrophonic sound was incredible, this song in particular felt like a physical assault - you could feel the drums on your chest, the lights were blinding. Simply the best night of my life (and i'm 62!) been to loads of gigs before and since, nothing else comes close to this. Your reactions are wonderful, so thoughtful and deeply felt, keep up the good work.
Just like you, I had the chance to attend this show two nights in a row, May 23 and 24, 1994 at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

This song ended the first half of the show, and as you could see, a standing ovation. As far as I can recall, this was the only concert I've been to where the band had a raptuous standing ovation just for the first half - not counting the 'rock' concerts where fans were on their feet throughout. It's so great to see you enjoying the music I grew up with and loved too.👍👍😃😃

One of the slickest thing ngs I ever did, was to trade two Barbara Streisand tickets for two 6th row/center ticket to this tour when it stopped in Detroit. It was so sublime, that show. Probably the best show I ever saw.

"It's absolutely ridiculous in a good way". Great take. i know a shitload of 70's music, from the big boys down to the one hit wonders. The bass in 70's music was so prevalent that it actually was the instrument that completely made a lot of our favorite music and songs that we remember well. Go back and listen again to all your old favorites on a good system and tell me there was no other instrument that made your foot tap like the bass did. It, along with the backbeat of the drums was what kept people dancin'. The guitars, keyboards,saxes and vocals (think. Paul Mccartney, Pete Townsend, Elton John, Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury, Paul Rogers, David Gilmour etc are amazing. (depending on what band you're listening to) are amazing as well. The late 60's and the 70's was a plethora of amazing music.
The first time I saw Pink Floyd was in April 1975, this is the song they opened with. Great song and it got even better from there.
For me the best live version of One of these Days is from the Live at Pompeii film. Nick Masons drumming is insane.

Hey guys, you two are awesome. I love watching your videos, especially Pink Floyd reactions. I'm a 50+ year fan and listen to Floyd constantly. I would like to recommend that you listen to "Careful With That Axe Eugene" from Live at Pompeii in 1971. This is Dave, Rick, Nick and Roger Waters on bass. Another good version would be the Live Embryo concert from 1971 also.
The one from Brighton? is my favorite.

Hard to believe, but the concert captured for the video is one of the smallest ,in attendance and scope of effects. The sound system is also scaled down.
I was fortunate enough to see them 4 times in the momentary lapse of reason tour and three times on the Pulse tour, all of them in outside stadiums, 40k + people... I know I'll never be able to experience that again, and I have been in all Roger, David and Nick's concerts... fabulous concerts on their own right, but those that can not be replicated.
I can't wait until you get to experience Echoes in Gdansk by David in 2006, and In the flesh opening of The Wall, by Roger, 2014... breathtaking!

3 Version (1) 1972 at Pompeii, (2) this one !994, (3) 2016 Pompeii again with an instrument i have never seen. Floyd was the first to record in 4,8,,16 ,32,64. tracks. They were known for the experimenting with sound, them do it live. Saw 1994 5 times. Critics in 60's said their music would sell when when pigs can fly. hence at the end they push the pigs out of the towers. FYI; this concert was sold out for 14 days in a row. congrads on 50,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1972 Pompeii song "Madenmoiselle Nobs" sings for the first time. Unrehearsed

I think you're right: Pink Floyd's music makes demands on a listener's attention that not everyone is willing to pay. Yes, some listen superficially to it and appreciate it in a way, but the depth of the music can only be recognized by attending to what the music brings. On the Meddle album, "One of These Days" is followed by one of the most satisfyingly peaceful songs, "A Pillow of Winds," which I hope you get a chance to hear, keeping in mind that "One of These Days" just preceded it. It's a powerful transition.

I was there one night in '94, what a fantastic evening out. My friend and I dropped two LSD trips each, like you do. Every time those blasts of smoke went off on stage the heat hit your face, making it burn your cheeks 'nearly', I can still feel the heat today, mind blowing performance all round, three cheers to you two thanks
One of my favourites. But the version live in Pompei is even better.
They were also masters of special effects and psychedelics far ahead of anybody else. If you went to see the FLOYD expect a mind blowing experience of a show along with music

Thinking out of the box.....it's what makes Pink Floyd stand apart from the rest! Their music is a rich tapestry of pure artisrty and beautiful sound. Superb beyond words!!!
Ok. Let the pigs fly. The flying pigs are from the album ANIMALS and only on stage for this song. Love and warm regards from Cologne Germany. I´ve saw this Concert 1994 in Rome, Italy. Here any facts: The concerts of the "P.U.L.S.E. TOUR" featured even more special effects ( On the day of the concerts, the airspace above the respective city was closed for several hours for safety reasons due to the laser show !!! ) than the previous tour of even other bands and artist tours ever and it was in 1994, including two custom designed airships. They also used an Antonov military cargo plane plus 2 x Cargo Boeing 747s. 3 seperate stages leapfrogged around North America and Europe, each of that stages 180 feet (55 m) long and featuring a 130 foot (40 m) arch resembling the Hollywood Bowl venue. One stage in use, one being dismantled from the previous venue and one being set up at the next. They need 3-4 days to building on stage up 3 days for re-building.When Pink Floyd performed this in the US, they traveled with 4 48' military grade mobile generators. 1994 there wasn't a stadium built with enough electrical input to run the Pink Floyd show. That was also new for the American´s. The US Army said: "Ok, that´s cool project and makeable for us - let´s do it for the american audience - But we are always there! Is that understood and clear!?" - Answer Gilmour: "Yes Sir it is clear, thanks a lot, then let´s go. You will not regret it". I think the american audience don´t regret it. That's what happens when you forget to give a budget figure to your lighting effects designer. That sound comes from a 220,000 watt sound system. The glitter ball from "Comfortably Numb" was over 15ft (4,6 m) in diameter, and the lasers were a new experimental design, and Pink Floyd cornered the entire world's supply at the time. All in all, the tour required 700 tons of steel carried by 53 articulated trucks, a crew of 161 people and an initial investment of US$ 4 million plus US$ 25 million of running costs just to stage. This tour played to 5.5 million people in 68 cities; each concert gathered an average audience of more then 45,000. In summary, it is the most elaborate live tour project of all times to date. The planning alone took 3 years. The tour (not the planning) was sponsored by Volkswagen.
"how did they do it?" well, back in the late '60s and early '70s, albums were new. bands and artists had previously been shackled to 3 minute pop songs. suddenly they could go into a studio, with masses of new electronic equipment, and take months to compose an album. so they experimented and experimented, for hours a day, days on end, weeks on end, even before they went into a studio, due it costing a lot of money. Pink Floyd began as an experimental psychedelic band. after Syd Barrett left and David Gilmour joined them, they had to discover a new sound, so they tried all sorts of different things. they just kept experimenting. some things were discovered by accident. if they liked it, they kept it and used it. new distortion equipment was also being developed. so they experimented with them. they were patient. they never hurried. you've noticed what kind of men they are/were. calm, easy going [except Roger] and they would rework things, over and over again, argue about them, argue again and again and again, until they were happy with what they had. that's how they did it. i'm so happy to hear your intelligent reactions. you're definitely my favourites

My mum & dad went to this concert. They still say it’s the best concert they’ve been to.
Echoes and one of these days were the first released songs of the successful pink floyd style of music and very different with each other. In some way they're overshadowing the band's future.
I fully agree that when you start to listen to pink floyd you need to just sit in a calm place, listen and have your attention there for the whole song. And generally progressive rock/metal requires the listener to give some attention and time to the bands before realise whether they like them. You can't judge from a few songs or seconds.
"One of these days il cut you up into little pieces". Saw this live in Gothenburg -94, this song hits you like hammer! Well, 99% of their songs does.
It’s more than music..it’s pure emotion.
And to think this song was released in 1971 (off the album Meddle).
They liked being mysterious because that was part of the allure
I first saw Pink Floyd 51 years ago just before they released DSOTM. It was in a smaller rectangular hall in Austin Tx in '71. Imagine hearing this song and others in this hall with a quad sound system so the sound circled completely around you. It was and still is the gold standard by which I measure all concerts.
Back in the 70's when good quality hi-fi was beyond the price range of most of us and poor quality record players were the norm, me and my mates best guess of what the words were was "one of these days I'm going to dance with the prince of Greece". Also back then, no party really got started until this was played. Nice reaction guys.

Your reaction is completely understandable. Most viewers here know P.F. since the beginning and of course nothing surprises us. I was about 14 years old when I first heard this album (Meddle) and it has been a regular on the turntable since that time. If you like this music you have to listen to it more often and of course the complete albums. That was normal back then because there wasn't as much demand as there is today. We sometimes had to wait a year or two (sometimes more) years for the next album, so we kept hearing the same songs over and over again. So it's okay if you (or younger people) can't get in right away. Everything is fine the way it is. Best wishes @all and thanks for sharing another great song by P.F.

I would have been scared......feeling my internal organs vibrating. As big as the stage, opening disco ball and lights were, there were 3 teams with 3 sets of trucks, crew and electronics to make this work. One for the show, one setting up for tomorrow's show and one taking all of this down and packing it up for the show 2 nights later. I think the lights added another octave to this. It was just in the visual freq range instead of aural range.
I think they thought inside the box for this song, not outside. The Binson Echo box. They had it, they used it, and they thought: hm. What can we do with that? Like, really do?
Today, a piece like this would be a demo for such a machine. A well paid demo

The phrase “top of their game” gets overused when describing many bands these days, the Floyd sets the bar for all to strive to reach. They’ve been at the top musically and creatively for most of the bands life. Again, your reaction has hit the nail on the head yet again. It’s great to share your experiences on the Floyd journey.

That bass line - driving and infectious, then seeing Mr. Dave Gilmour, smiling just shredding that lap steel guitar! I love the homage to the Dr. Who theme - at the start of the psychedelic bass (that doesn't sound like a bass) part (by the fantastic Tim Renwick). I wish I had seen this live in person!
ce morceau est un vrai chef d'oeuvre, un de plus dans la discographie de PF. Pour l'anecdote, j'ai assisté a 2 concerts de pink floyd à paris (et roger waters). Dominica, personne ne s'est évanoui à proximité, mais que de larmes dans les yeux tant l'émotion était au maximum. le concert de 1994 est sans doute l'une des plus belles performances scénique de tous les temps. Savez vous que encore 2 membres proposent encore des concerts, Roger Waters (un des principaux compositeurs de tous ces chefs d'oeuvre ) sous son nom et propose des concerts actuellement en europe; et Nick Mason dans le groupe "a saucerful of secret" qui ne reprends que les titres de PF des débuts à 1971.
Almost 30 years later, I am totally certain that none of us remember the hours of queuing in subzero temperatures for tickets to this tour. We only remember the absolute joy of that event. Thank you, Pink Floyd, for the best concert I have ever experienced.

You need to react to the Wall album. The problem is that the musics just make sense if you listen them in order. You need to understand that this album is like a book. In a book you don't read chapters randomly. You start in the 1st chapter and read them in order until the end of the book. The wall is like a book, the songs are chapters, you need to listen to them in order to understand the story. For me is the best album ever.

Could I go very leftfield in a future Pink Floyd reaction. I think it's only been reacted to on here possibly twice. You should try a song called Terminal Frost from Momentary Lapse of reason album. An instrumental that has so much emotion that I'll be interested to see which one of you's sheds a tear first.
