Gilmour is one of my favorite vocalist. Very mature and expressive without trying too hard to be a showman. YES... I too "Love His Voice"

"Come Back Strong"....... I think so. You should have been there. The crowd loved this song both times I saw it done in 1987 and 1994

Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a David Gilmour show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"...
I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen.
I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold.

You nailed another excellent comprehensive reaction to this thought provoking song in both the music and message. Why we like you JM. You do great music and do great analysis of them. Thanks again.

I think even Roger Water would like the lyrics to this."Dogs of War" (governments)."the Iran contra" with Oliver North scandal. "invisible transfer" ( money) "master don't know the webs we weave" ( Reagan ;" I did know what was going on"" Laughter in marble halls" ( congress). I have seen this 5 times and their next tour 5 times. They don't do concerts they do experiences. Should see Dave's solo work. "live at Pompeii" at 70 yrs old. "in any tongue" **********

Roger is a self absorbed jerk who wrote some good lyrics but he attempted to ruin a great band, David said we don't need him, and he was right.

"No One Does Concerts Like Pink Floyd". I totally agree, having seen them 4 times and nearly every other great band since 1966. No one does guitar solos quite like David Gilmour. The Master Of The Stratocaster

This song is off the awesome album.... A Momentary Lapse of Reason is the thirteenth studio album by Pink Floyd, released in September 1987. It was recorded primarily on guitarist David Gilmour's converted houseboat, "Astoria". The entire album is some of the best from them. Roger Waters was gone from the band and had no involvement with the album.

The first time I heard this song, some drinking buddies had dragged me to a strip club. The stripper strutted around to this pounding song. I went up to the DJ and asked him who the hell it was. He said, “It’s from the new Pink Floyd album.” Bought the album the next day.

This is a killer song, glad you did a react to it. I believe you started your Pink Floyd journey with Dark Side of the Moon, but did you know there are 7 albums BEFORE DSotM? You should really check them out, maybe in Reverse order.... start with "Obscured by Clouds" (72), then Meddle (71)(my favorite), then Atom Heart Mother (70), then Ummagumma (69). there are 3 others, not so well known.

Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Elton John, Supertramp, Jethro Tull, Steve Miller Band, Van Morrison, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd… What’s with you? Why don’t you do some bands we heard of before, not those one hit wonder bands you’re doing. You need to step up your game and start doing music we might know.
