Yep, I pretty much concur, though not in quite the same order. I think I might have added the cynical and acerbic "Have a Cigar", which chimes with my distaste of manipulative record companies. To me, it has a sense of tension, sleaziness, and barely suppressed aggression - unusual for Pink Floyd, but of course done perfectly. Given the subject matter, even the strange ending works.

I like your list. Since there are so many good ones, I would be hard pressed to pick my top ten PF songs and performances. I definitely like that live version of Comfortably Numb. That would also be my number one. Personally, I would put the album version of PF's Great Gig in the Sky with Clare Tory on my list. It has always been the most emotionally powerful PF song for me.

Close to mine, but Time would be second. Much music is still based on Pink Floyd and "Waiting for the Worms." Great video and top ten 🙃

How many top professional rock musicians can you think of that have the ability to project their emotions and characteristics through their music these guys have that ability that's just one of their many talents that I'm and I'm sure many other great music lovers share with me pink floyd are and will always be the ultimate in sycadelic progressive rock for me 75 years young now and I have been on this fabulous journey for over fifty odd years it never get so I don't want to see or hear them anymore quite the opposite fantastic group love your reaction obviously your a fellow fan we are definitely soul mates rock on

This is a nice, jazzy rendition of the song. The soft interlude in the middle is longer than on the album, but I liked it because they were obviously having fun.

Are we being looked at by a larger form of life that are thinking what are they doing to themselves???

If you listen carefully around the 3:30 mark you will hear the nursery rhyme, 'Ring a Ring o' Roses' being sung although it's much clearer on the studio version. I absolutely love the harmonies form the girls, gives me shivers every time.

I am a 71-year-old Pink Floyd fan and having been listening to them for 53 years. They are by far my favorite band, and I listen to them every day. I appreciate your PF reactions and analysis very much. You might want to check out the "Delicate Sound of Thunder" concert as well. Again, this old man thanks you very much for the reactions my dear!!

That was a class AAA production and performance all the way around! David walks out on huge a stage wearing blue jeans and a plain T-shirt......then puts on a stellar unforgettable performance and show in front of a packed audience!

Learning to Fly studio version is much better

Good analysis of the symbolism of the song, Angelisa. What's great about Pink Floyd is that their lyrics can have multiple meanings, depending upon each individiual's perspective. David, by the way, is an experienced pilot, so a literal interpretation is also warranted.

It's principally about learning to fly a plane, as both David and Nick got their pilot licenses. David accumulated quite a collection of vintage aircraft, started an aviation company mainly to support his collection, and then sold them all off except for his favorite biplane. Nick became a helicopter pilot. The cockpit radio chatter in the background is Nick talking to the control tower during his flying lessons. But, it does have metaphorical layers too. You're not wrong to view it as a metaphor. Dave said that part of the meaning is that, after Roger's departure, Pink Floyd was learning to fly again.

It's actually about David taking flying lessons...literally.
